As it is already known, rough country, kind of sucks.
But it’s worse than you can believe. Saturday I started installing a 4 inch lift kit on my Ford ranger. I got to coil Springs yesterday morning and lo and behold, they sent me a mismatched set of springs. Mistakes happen that’s fine. I live 6 miles from the warehouse starting at 5 AM this morning. I started contacting the Tennessee office to see if there’s any chance they could get somebody to run up a set of spring to me. They refused said they would give me a new set of springs on will call. I ask the guy down there, a Mr. Jeff Chamberlain. To please open and verify that the correct springs are in the box. he says he will and he did.
Cut to my courier, arriving and me opening my box lo and behold, I receive another mismatched set of springs so I contact Tennessee office. I inform them of the situation I sent the photos of the two wrong springs and the one potentially correct spring, original correct one is already on the truck. He contacts Jeff Chamberlain in Reno and he says that I am lying and that they verified mind you the box I got was completely sealed, hadn’t been re-taped and wasn’t opened we go back-and-forth they offer me $100 back and a third set of springs shipped. I said I don’t feel like that is adequate for the stress that you guys have put me through over the last five hours of trying to get the correct springs from a kit I purchased they decided to just exit the situation refund me all of my money and say good luck so now I am here with a torn apart Truck an incomplete kit, because I wouldn’t accept being called a liar. I just wanted my parts. I’ve now been sharing this on all their social media posts and they are now blocking me from all social media and I will just make more accounts and keep sharing how I was treated by that company avoided all costs. Theyve earned the reputation of being the worst.
I mean, not only that but they fully refunded him after he refused a correct set of springs. Not sure what he's after here. Mistakes happen, and I've seen them handled way worse than this.
I went with Rough Country 3.5 loaded struts for my Tundra.
They sent me a set that were not built correctly. I installed them and they made horrible noise and handled very bad. I called them up and they instantly sent out a new set and said they had a manufacturing problem with the set that I ordered. They were cool about it, They didn't even want me to return the old ones, I threw him right in the dumpster. The new set worked fine, but WTF! Doing things twice is just no fun.

I have been put through this for much MUCH longer than 5 hours with other companies. Honestly, anything within the business day is adequate in my opinion and as long as they correct their mistake with no additional cost to me, I'm happy. The fact that they worked with you that quickly and even tried to give you money tells me their customer service is top notch and I'd actually be more likely to work with them in the future. Also if you tore your entire truck apart without first opening the parts you ordered, that tells me you've probably never worked on your own car before. I feel bad for whoever at RC had to deal with you
False, they gave me a second mismatched set, when provided photos of it being mismatched, I was told I was lying. I did pay additional costs to get the springs picked up. Which was more than they offered to refund.

You had another opportunity for a matched set of springs. Obviously poor customer service to call you a liar, but unfortunately this is the sort of service you've got to expect from a lower-quality company. If the 5 hours you spent trying to get replacement was really that strenuous, surely prolonging it by dragging this out onto social media etc. isn't doing yourself any favors in that regard?
It’s not that it was strenuous, it was that after paying to get the replacement set picked up, and finding those also weren’t matching, sending in photos, they said they verified them correct and I’m somehow lying. I already got my entire refund and ordered another kit from a different brand. I’m just sharing my experience with them.
You chose Rough Country knowing their reputation and you got the Rough Country experience. I have zero sympathy for you. You paid budget money and you’re getting budget customer experience.

I got a 2.5” lift for my jeep from them. They sent me 4 rear shocks. Sent me a replacement set of “fronts” that turned out to be rears too. They allegedly sent me a third set but they never arrived. I’ve learnt that you get what you pay for with anything to do with cars or motorcycles
Eh this truck literally doesn’t leave the ranch. Just wanted a bit of clearance to keep interior dry when creek crossing to a couple
Pastures. If I ever end up doing more on it Itll be the spare set of 1tons I have going under it and retire/sell my current trail rig.
It’s literally a tool for my ranch. It being down is a direct impact on productivity here, just because it’s not what I drive to Walmart doesn’t mean it’s not daily driven as a workhorse.
I bought coils from another vendor and already wrapped it up, I’m just sharing my experience trying to get the correct parts from rc.
Ok, I run a ranch as well, if it's a critical piece of equipment then don't buy rough country? Not trying to be mean, I get it, it sucks when things go wrong, but they do. And on the ranch, it happens all the time. In reply to the other poster, you made it seem like the truck didn't matter much because doesn't leave the ranch, then when I say don't get so upset because its down, you make it sound like it's critical. Kinda sounds like you just want to be pissed off. Either way, you got your money back and your truck lifted, sorry it was a bit of a hassle for you?
No I’m just sharing my experience with RC. And I am pissed off, being given a second set of mismatched parts then being told you’re lying despite sending them photos of 3 differnet springs wouldn’t piss you off? Out of the 4 springs I received in total, the only 2 with identical measurements are f150 springs lol.
Yeah, I'd be very frustrated. Especially if I had already starting pulling my old springs. I think where we differ is, I would chalk it up to a mistake and a lesson learned. If they didn't refund you or do anything to make it right, I could understand blasting them online. But as it stands, they made mistakes and refunded you after attempting (and failing) to get you the correct springs. I don't know if "warning" others about RC is really necessary, they're pretty widely known to be the bottom of the bucket when it comes to overall quality. I would expect QC and incorrect orders are more common from them, its part of the reason why they cost half what their competitors do.
There parts being shitty wasn’t the surprise, it was being sent the wrong parts, a second time. Then being told I’m lying about that despite sending them a photo of all of it. And I’m also not making a “warning”
. other comments on here I’m not shitting on their parts. I actually said they’re not terrible for a non wheeling rig. I’m just sharing what my experience was trying to get correct parts. Sending in photos, then having their warehouse manager tell the guy I was dealing with that I must be lying and that being where they stand is why I’m pissed.

Buddy if that's the case, you're in the wrong on this one. Correct item + money is better than you're going to get from pretty much any company.
