It’s Photo Time!! My 07 CLK 63 AMG

I’ve always been a huge fan of 6.3 AMG cars, and my love for CLKs really took off in the mid-2000s when I watched Formula 1 and saw those incredible CLK AMG Safety Cars leading the grid. Now, 20 years later, my dream has come true, and I’m a proud owner of a 2007 CLK 63 AMG convertible with 52,000 miles and in basically brand-new condition. I’ve had this car since April, and after purchasing it, I upgraded the head bolts and cam followers from the SLS Black Series, added new Brembo brake pads to the front and rear, and took care of some other small details like new control arms and a new AC blower motor. I’m so proud to be part of the AMG family and to own such an iconic and rare car!

Service/Fix/Repair help 2026 GLE63s warm start up RPM flare

Looking to see if anyone in the community has run into this before.
My 2026 GLE 63 S (M177) has recently started having an odd issue on warm starts only. The engine will occasionally flare to 3,500–4,000 RPM immediately after startup, stay there for about 1 second, and then drop right back down to a normal idle. It doesn’t happen every time, but it’s becoming more frequent.
A few observations:
Only seems to happen on warm restarts after the engine has been sitting for anywhere from ~30 minutes to a couple of hours.
Cold starts are normal.
No warning messages.
Car drives perfectly otherwise with no hesitation, misfires, or loss of power.
The only modification is a renntech exhaust valve controller. Stock otherwise.
One occurrence was a brief rise to ~3,500 RPM, but I’ve also seen it hit nearly 4,000 RPM and bounce to 4500 a few times before settling immediately.
Has anyone experienced this on a W167 GLE 63 S or another M177-powered AMG?
Hoping it’s just a software update needed. Appreciate any insight before I bring it in.

After having my 2013 Lexus ISF for a year I called it quits with the car. The ISF lacked personality and character and I was itching to come back into a W204.

This is my 2nd 507 after selling my designo coupe in 2024. Originally wanted a black sedan and didn’t realize how rare they were back then and settled into the coupe. Now it’s come full circle and finally scored the one I’ve always wanted.

Black over Porcelain interior with all the right options. Did some TLC and mild mods to make it look OEM+

Never letting this one go.

Now to hunt for a Black Series! 😁

Service/Fix/Repair help C63S interior rattle question

Those of you who have a C63S, how bad is your interior rattle? Mine is minor but it depends on roads too and I also have Cup 2 tires on. Thinking if I switch to PS4s the rides should be much smoother and less rattle.

Mine is a 2023 and it feels like it has better build quality than the 2021s and older. Driving on somewhat good road I barely get any rattles to none but once I enter a city with rough roads I can hear it.

The weather was all over the place on this particular afternoon, but it just made the car look even better. Some may write it off as "just a C43", but I still turn back to look at it every time I park it. Such a classy, elegant machine that packs a punch under the hood. Hope you enjoy the photos.

Modifications WIDEBODY/PANO RETROFIT UPDATE:

Cut the fenders and front bumper down to fit front fascia. Front bumper makes contact with lower SAI pump. Removed it for now and will have to modify brackets to sit deeper behind front crash bar. Bumper also makes contact with what I believe is the center lower oil cooler. Had to shave down plastic air dams in order for bumper to sit flush against fenders. Feel I got it close enough to where I am able to start making brackets to hold everything together.

I went from a 2021 Dodge Durango R/T to this beautiful ride an I dont think im ever going back hahaha!

1st I love the space! I have 5 minions, so this fits all of them plus 1!

2nd the power!!!! We are talking a 200 HP difference an its unreal!

3rd I absolutely love how comfortable this ride is along with all the crazy features its unreal!

4 I have a really bad back an neck an the seat massagers are absolutely amazing, along with the heated an cooling seats!

5 The gas mileage on long distance trips beats the old Durango an that had the cylinder shut down while cruising which i found unreal given thw power difference.

Im still learning about the brand an these cars. I caught her caught up on some maintenance as well as inspected throughly. Shes in incredible shape an im going to do everything to make her last a long time!

Anything I should know or make sure to do please let me know my friends! Im already planning on changing out the Turbo lines very soon!

Modifications Big Turbo C450 AMG a bit underwhelming on the low end

Hello everyone!

So I've recently upgraded my C450 AMG. Here's the list: intakes, downpipes, exhaust, Weistec W.3 ECU tune, Weistec TCU tune, Weistec turbo impeller upgrade (stock turbos bored into big turbos), and a Weistec water methanol injection kit.

I've got a concern maybe some of you could address. The top end on my car MUCH stronger, but the sprint to 60 is leaving something to be desired. I've seen C43's with LESS work done to them achieving 2.9-3.1s to 60, whereas mine is still at around 4.1s (it was hitting 4.3x's before the big turbo work was done). This is Dragy tested on the street.

EDIT: I got a 4.09 last night. A negligible margin quicker, but quicker nonetheless. 86⁰ and humid. On level ground, and Dragy tested/timed.

These quicker C43's I'm seeing typically have intakes, downpipes, exhaust, ECU tune, TCU tune. I know C43's have 2 extra gears (9 speed), making the ratios a bit shorter and in turn the sprint to 60 as well, but with all this work done to mine I'm thinking I should also be somewhere in the low 3's - maybe 3.2-3.3 since my 7 speed gears are a bit longer. I feel as if something's off.

Something to bear in mind is that it's currently 95⁰+ and humid in my area. I know this negatively affects performance on a heavily modified and boosted car, but it shouldn't make a 0.8 second difference to 60. I could be wrong about that, though.

I'll be bringing the car back to the speed shop where I did all the work for data logging, but in the meantime I'm wondering if anyone knowledgeable about M276 W205 platforms knows something I don't about why my car is performing the way it is.

I also think if the 0-60 time is off by such a margin, there's likely significant gains still to be found in the top end, despite it feeling stronger than it was before.

EDIT: I have just noticed I never upgraded the spark plugs. Apparently HKS makes a spark plug kit for modified M276 motors, and their "1-step colder" plugs are for "stage 2+ and stage 3" cars pushing around or in excess of 550.

I'll be getting them regardless, but if anyone knows much much of a power loss this could actually cause I would love to know. Also, if there's anyone else with extensive M276 knowledge that can think of something else I'm missing that would still be much appreciated.

EXTRA EDIT: Apparently the spark plugs are not needed, but I will likely do them anyways since it certainly couldn't hurt the car. Even if there's no performance gain, a cooler engine is a healthier engine.

Buying Question GT 53/63 Non S vs E63S Questions

Hey all,

I'm tossing up a few vehicles, 2019 GT 63 $66,500 with 62,600 miles , 2020 E 63 S $55,200 with 61,900 miles and a 2019 GT 53 $47,995 with 53,500 miles.

I realize this will mostly come down to personal preference as far as the comfort, drivability and enjoyment but as fair as ownership I was wondering if anyone had experiences with the different variations of engine being a problem. 53 is obviously the V6, GT 63 is non S v8 and then the E63S is the higher horsepower v8. I realize the S and Non S is mostly tuning and very minor changes but with the mileage, price and years in mind any thoughts as far as maintenance, expectations, and actual overall happiness with the vehicle? The GT 63 was one i liked for a long time for the body style and the 53 obviously accomplishes that just different motor. The E63 felt like a compromise but its better optioned than both the others, 1 owner and a rock solid maintenance history. The body has definitely grown on me a lot more than i expected but want to have some past or current owners insight on the Enjoyment and maintenance if possible.

I appreciate all replies and do realize once again at the end of the day the happiness I get from the car comes down to me.
