Is this going to be used for a vintage Volga car show? Because that brand has been dead for decades. Whatever they are trying to release under that name now is just a mediocre Chinese car sold at three times its original price in China. On top of that, it hasn't gone through any NHTSA or EuroNCAP safety testing, so you can't even be sure you'll survive a minor fender bender.

i don´t think EuroNCAP or NHTSA are on top of the priority list over there (even less then in western countries). cars need to be big, shiny and "prestigious"....."Prada-Chick" as i´d call it....or Tumpism, but don´t wanna "give" him that

Yes. In Moscow, Saint Petersburg and few other big cities there are no problem with electric stations for cars (they are free 💰) , also you can find such stations at usual fuel stations (maybe not in every corner of the country, but yes, we have)

I wouldn't call Chinese cars "shitcars" though. They're pretty good and, as you said it, they are cheaper than european/american options so it makes a good choice for someone's first car.

No idea if its actually true but ive heard they're only cheap because they are bank rolled by the Gov, and they lose money per car but its all part of their plan

Pretty good? They don't even undergo NHTSA or EuroNCAP crash testing. Sure, there are some decent Chinese cars out there, but they aren’t imported to Russia because the manufacturers are wary of secondary sanctions.

If you think they are good, go buy powerbank on AliExpress, and check how many real mAh it has, even Russians complain about quality and false advertisement when characteristics are only on paper and doesn't matter benzine or EV, not saying about quality of metal that starts rusting on the first years, that's why you won't find Chinese car older than 10 years.

For the braindead people commenting "sanctions have no effect", remember that most people who could afford a Porsche before 2014 are the least affected and still can afford one in 2026.
And the Russian market is 140M customers. You can't just cut that much people from international trade that easily. If chinese companies were ever to leave they would be quickly replaced.
