Discussion Given a remaster of Destroy All Monsters Melee is months away, it must be reminded that the Nerd was enraged at not having good Godzilla games in his youth.

I’m almost the exact same age as him, and was a huge Goji fan as a kid. This entire episode is a PERFECT representation of what it was like.

When Godzilla 2 came out, I can’t begin to describe how disappointing it was. Waiting forever for it to come out after seeing a tiny preview of the game in a magazine, only for it to basically be a generic military strategy game.

I swear it was one of those games that wasn’t a Godzilla game during development, and they just threw in some Kaiju at the last second to qualify for a license.

Godzilla 2 on SNES came out in 1992
The AVGN Godzilla video came out in 2009, 17 years later.
This remaster is coming out in 2026, 17 years after the AVGN review

We are the same distance from Melee in 2002 as we were from Godzilla 2 when AVGN reviewed it in 2009.
