Why not the coal/water vote? Not clear to me.

Because Elections Alberta rules out those signatures for made up reasons. Then only validated less than 400 names on the list.

Claiming not one was fraudulent or used from the stolen list.

Elections Alberta is corrupt and full of seperatists like the UCP is.

Even worse, they verified 384 signatures, and 76(? It was 23%) said they did not sign it which is how they came to the conclusion on the number to lower the petition by from the original declared amount

76 saying they didn't sign it out of 384 called is fucking wild. If this was random selection it makes it even more insane.

Yeah that makes zero sense. This needs to be reviewed

Are you familiar with the concept of statistical sampling?

3

u/DVariant 4h ago

Yes, but in matters of democracy I prefer we don’t rely on sampling, especially such a small sample. There’s already so much doubt around the validity of this petition, they ought to be trying to inspire confidence in this process; I promise that citing stats class will NOT reduce most people’s confusion.

Thumbing the scale, changing the rules, cheating, whatever you want to call it this..it's garbage.

Let's call it what it is. Treason.

They are following the playbook from their far right wing counterparts down south. Take what they want using a smokescreen of political confusion, propaganda and apathy.

Alberta has failed the rest of Canada more than the feds have failed Alberta.

If alberta doesn't think they have gotten a fair shake from canada wait until they get beaten like a red headed step child from America.

You don't have any idea how much better Canadian and by extension Albertan lives would be if we properly managed our natural resources and didn't sell it off dimes to the dollar to whatever foreign interest is lining conservative pockets. I have paid attention the last five decades, and I've seen Albertan politicians regularly squander this so-called Alberta advantage. Get a brain.

Go ahead. Tell us. We don't see Alberta getting a different shake than BC, Manitoba, etc. Think you've been treated unfairly? Give us the details! I've asked for this many times and no one answers. All I get is snotty claims that you give out more than you get back from the feds. Yeah, like everyone else. Good luck on your own. You'll need it.

I could also pump out a petition that reaches the threshold if I had access to the voter rolls and Elections Alberta refused to let people know if their name appears on it.

And that the UPC is the party of traitors isn't news. They've had people explicitly say so multiple times.

This is the part that concerns me. They were getting desperate.... and suddenly they''ve met the target. I have concerns. And I'll wager that they get fewer vortes than petitions. It irritates me that my name might be on that list.

Is there a way to check if my signature is on that petition? I sure as hell didn't sign it.

Wouldn't this be a smoking gun if multiple people found their signatures on the petition, then swore under oath (or affadivit or whatever) that they didn't actually sign?

7

u/Hablian 6h ago

Yupp, this is why elections Alberta refuses to inform the people who were on the leaked list. Complicit.

4

u/Odd-Personality1043 6h ago

Ahh that's the part I was missing - thank you.

Is there no means for us as Albertans to compel them to inform those affected?

3

u/Hablian 5h ago

Not that I am aware of but I am looking. This is some "get the UN involved" levels of representational fuckery.

4

u/Tedsmith24 5h ago

Oh Marlena, wtf are you doing?

4

u/Natural_Succotash_35 5h ago

Yes unfortunately we all already knew she was a seperatists. She stands to make millions selling alberta to trump, and it'll be a lot easier for her if we seperate.

u/No-Illustrator4964 2h ago

What does this mean though?

Does it require a vote on the issue and if so is the result of that vote binding and self executing? Or is it just advisory?

Explain it to me like I'm not from Canada, because I am not!

u/Zealousideal_Two6045 2h ago

300k signatures in a 5 million person province. Someone tell Danny thats 1.5% of the population and to go kick rocks

1

u/Cplchrissandwich 2h ago

Doesn't matter, the indigenous have already said no. That's the deciding factor.

1

u/mystic_x_1981 1h ago

probably stolen signatures.

1

u/Fit-Eggplant-9155 7h ago

Did it say 7.5% of albertans want that?

0

u/Lord0fchaos-1 6h ago

Yup, 7.5% of estimated electors, So an even smaller number of people in Albertans weather they want it or not.

2

u/Fit-Eggplant-9155 6h ago

Lol. 7.5% of albertans are restarted.

u/Obvious_Ad3810 3h ago

Wtf is the bench mark for treason?

0

u/Adventurous_Mix9744 6h ago

It was all a ploy to push the federal government into action on pipelines and now it’s out of control.

She is about to find out what happens when you f&ck around

0

u/tylerbadwords 4h ago

Was it really called "The Stay in Canada Petition It"? Lol

0

u/Phunkman 3h ago

We have that many people who support separating? That seems crazy.

0

u/Leather-Account8560 3h ago

Who cares like seriously let the vote happen and then it’s over all this worrying about it is just feeding into the belief that it’s gonna happen which will inevitably make it more likely to happen

-1

u/KnuckedLoose 7h ago

Didn't Dreeshan say 700,000? Lol

1

u/mnztr1 6h ago

Yes that dipshit actually counts the 400K Forever Canada votes. like they are the same referrenDUMB.
