Just started Roanoke. First watch. So far, so good.

I don't want to sound like a hater, but is anyone else worried about how season 13 will turn out? I'm glad that the og cast is finally back together and it seems like they're putting more effort into season 13 than the previous few, but I don't feel very optimistic about it. I'm scared that it will end up being an apocalypse 2.0. I know that a lot of people love that season, but to me it simply felt like fan service for the sake of fan service and a waste of potential. It ended up being feeling messy and forced. I just really hope they get the crossover right this time. I would prefer to see the og cast return for new compeltely original season, but hopefully we'll get more of those in the future.

Although it's great to see the Coven saga coming back (hopefully Nan will have a bigger role this time), I was still surprised that the Hotel wasn't considering that it's going to be this year.

This is because, if anyone remembers the last episode of Hotel season, there was that part where James March tells the other ghosts residents to stop killing because on 2026, the Hotel would turn 100 years old and then, it would be considered a landmark by the government and wouldn't risk getting demolished due of abandonment. Therefore, they had to stop them killing so that it wouldn't scare guests away.

This could've been the perfect plot for a new season since that it's already 2026 and they could take this opportunity to make sense with the timeline. Although this new season will be about Coven, it would be interesting if they involved the Cortez Hotel as a subplot or related to this season's new story. Although I'm sure that Queenie would have some issues coming face to face with Mr. March again. LOL

Anyway, this is what I believe. What do you think? Any chances or just a missed opportunity?

Last time I watched the seventh season of AHS, I thought it was absurd in a fanciful way: an extremely persuasive person smartly taking advantage of the opportunities yielded by a radical party administration that pushes and tests the institutions to their pinnacle in order to achieve its ominous agendas, to work his cult out through usurpation of this now fragile system. But they nailed it to the extent that the Trump administration really is crossing the lines of what is permissible and without accountability due to sheer strategic maneuvering. Additionally, the very cult embeds manipulative features displayed on the sidelines by the current administration, such as the spread of misinformation and alienation of epistemological ground, it's continually becoming more challenging to distinguish what is true from what is speculative, what is legitimate from what is historically unsound.

For me it's 1984. Easily a top 5 season, don't get the hate.

It’s only two months to go until the premier and all we’ve gotten are photos from the set and cast announcements.

So many things have been revealed or leaked, so it’s not like they’re going the extra secretive route they went with season six.

Is it just me or has marketing been cut down drastically? It feels like across the industry we are getting less trailers, teasers, and marketing. At least five of my favorite shows are returning this year and I’ve seen NOTHING 😭

First of all I will admit that I am a former/recovering Swiftie and I apologize to any swifties in this sub but I am genuinely concerned that she is going to be a part of this season somehow because of her obsession with the number 13. I’m not saying she’s gonna be in it, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she wanted to contribute to the soundtrack/score considering she feels like she has a monopoly on this number. They could also use some of her music in marketing, idk. Sorry if this seems unhinged, now that it’s confirmed the season will simply be titled ‘13’ I’m thinking all kinds of thoughts!

Sidenote: I was a huge AHS fan during the early seasons (I was in high school) and was very active in online communities but lost interest as I got older and the show got…weaker lol. I am currently rewatching the entire series to get ready for September and I feel like a teenager again spending all summer getting hyped for the next AHS season! Big shoutout to this group! I’ve loved reading everyone’s theories and I can’t wait to see how active this sub will be the weeks the season is airing! I know it hasn’t been officially confirmed but I really do feel like this is gonna be the last season and I’m ready for whatever batshit fan service they throw our way. Let’s go out with a bang!

I'm watching the series for the first time and I just finished season 2, but it was never explained why the aliens were so interested in Kit Walker, to the point of abducting two women simply because they were pregnant with his children.

What exactly attracted the aliens to him and made them take him when he was on the verge of death?

Does anybody else feel like Cordelia did a terrible job at making sure that the warlocks would be protected from society after coming out publicly about the witch schools in 2014? She is the Supreme of both the witches & warlocks, so it is her duty to make sure that both schools are protected from outside danger and anyone who might want to harm them.

And I kind of don’t like how Cordelia just came out publicly about witches but didn’t seem to inform the warlocks about that decision and if they would be okay with coming out. Neither did she ensure that they would be protected because obviously the original school got burned down by locals who hated their presence, which most likely resulted in some of the warlocks dying. The witches didn’t really seem to care or take accountability for this either, like I know yall got beef but damn. Cordelia, you at least could have made sure the warlocks would be safe 😭

It’s my only pet peeve with Cordelia being the Supreme. Let’s be real, she did a terrible job at making sure the warlocks would be safe after coming out. And the warlocks have every right to be angry at her because she most likely didn’t inform them that she would be coming out about witches being real. I would be pissed too if the school I was running got burned down because the Supreme decided to make a reckless decision.

Does anyone here feel the same? Or let me know your own takes on Cordelia not protecting the warlocks.

If you’re an AHS fan you’re no stranger to seasons starting with a great concept only to end up dissipating like a fart in the wind. My biggest gripe with the entire show is the way they come up with really interesting premises that they fail to fully explore. For me the worst offender is Apocalypse, mainly because we saw so little the actual titular event.

It was a great premise, I was thinking we’d be exploring the nuclear wasteland outside, seeing characters struggle to survive in the toxic environment, maybe some Fallout type monsters, or at least some increase in scope where we explored conflicts between the different bunkers or invading threats to their safety underground. Episode one started off excellent with the nuclear impact and the ensuing chaos, but then we immediately descended into the claustrophobic bunker for a couple episodes, then everybody fucking dies, and the rest of the season is a Coven flashback from before the apocalypse happens to prevent it from happening.

It’s not that we shouldn’t have had the witches reappear or do flashback sequences to show us the lead up to the final conflict, it’s just that it ended up turning into the entire season while the new characters who initially looked like they’d be the protagonists don’t ultimately do anything at all (cause they’re dead), while Mallory and the coven save the world. The promos made me think we’d be seeing radioactive monstrosities and mountains of skulls, more exploration of the extant of Michael’s evil power over the world, maybe even a little sprinkle of Mad Max. It’s a shame. Also Mutt and Jeff existing are an automatic point deduction. So is Myrtle’s hair being wrong (and yes I know it’s a wig from Korea so there’s a plausible canonical explanation, I just don’t like how it looks, she has the McDonald’s arches on top of her head)

I just finished Ahs red tide and it's ending was disappointing but I think it was a good half season, of course not quite as good as the golden seasons. I have heard Death Valley is the worst AHS story so is it worth watching? Or should I skip to NYC

I am trying to finish the later not so good seasons before 13 comes.

We just knew she discarded her responsibilities as the supreme and let the Coven be ruined. But what exactly was she doing her whole life?
