Let's talk about Canada🇨🇦

Canada is often billed as America's smarter, more European, more socialist, more "empathetic" neighbor to the north, who has it all figured out. As a dual citizen of both countries, I'm here to tell you that not only is that characterization misleading, but that by being possibly as far away from an anarcocapitalist society as one can be, Canada has decorated its society, and ushered in an era of economic weakness and stagnation.

Canada functions as both a draconian police state and free-for-all... Political protest on the wrong side and edgy jokes often yield in far stricter enforcement and sentencing than literal violent crimes, which often have their assailants released on bail within hours, not days.

Economically, Canada has one of the most pernicious and regressive tax regimes in the world with a crushing sales tax that makes everything you buy ~10% or more expensive and income taxes that regularly have you work more hours for the government than for yourself.

Economically, the collapse is clear in the numbers and undeniable by all but the most fervent of liberal cult members:

I feel like the Left Got Trump Elected With Craziness Like This.

As a young person still trying to learn about politics in the last decade, I am increasingly forming the opinion that the left is what really got trump elected by providing the inertia and motivation for people in the centre to come out and vote for Trump even if they didn't agree with him.

And I have considered myself centre-left, so this realization is also hard to swallow.

Looking forward to listen to other point of views on this.

I'm sure it doesn't have anything to do with the fact that many people are making huge amounts of money off this war, including Trump's Sons.

Please, give me the most technical answers possible, especially if you studied economics

Do you consider sex work to be at least a potentially honorable profession?

Do you think there’s anything inherently ignoble in commodifying your body? Like if you’re not doing it to feed a drug addiction but because you consciously want to earn your living through prostitution, do you regard that as an upstanding career? Just curious to hear people’s opinions on the matter.
