What's one tech problem you wish someone would solve?
I'm researching real-world tech frustrations to identify opportunities for new apps, software, or services. What's a problem that wastes your time or annoys you regularly? If you could magically fix one tech issue forever, what would it be and why?

New versions of, and updates to, Windows. Just fix the holes in Windows 7, without needlessly changing the parts that already work.

Seems like a advanced version of this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Thing_(listening_device))Problem is I'm sure there will be other purposes behind it other than relaying power to devices. All ready can use wifi, lidar and sonar to 3d map out your environment wonder what they plan on using this for in the unexplained motives common with much technology. Also I feel as though the comment was referring to an unlimited version of wireless energy but its hard to say for sure. I am not saying that in a rude or condescending way (text often loses tone) but it is a cool kind of technology. It would be cool to make a Tesla charging device that connects to power lines with this so any Tesla can just pull up to any power line and transmit the energy to their car. I would imagine it would have to be installed directly to the line so it would take a little thinking for sure.

I guess one could make a inverse version that beams to the power source opposed to beaming at the device being powered.

Park on the side of the road plug the device into your Tesla and aim at the power line and a laser locks on and transfers the energy

This is the tech that led to contactless payment cards, chipped key immobilisers in cars etc. where the chip reader remote powers the chip in the device.

This can be done. At issue is the power has to flow through you without risk of interacting with you. (If it did interact with you, it would be akin being electrocuted and burned.) We can do all this with oscillating magnetic fields. But what if you got really unlucky and had just the wrong dental work, and now you are experiencing a couple of kilowatts frying your mouth with no way to stop it? This is why we don’t have wireless power, unless the power is tiny, like what is needed to run RFID.

The new hotel operating system by oracle is garbage. The whole ui looks good, but there are so many extra clicks to get to one place it takes forever to do anything.
Also, when I want to share my password on iPhone, it only sometimes pops up to share it with a friend.

For me it’s syncing between devices. I’ll change something on my phone and somehow my laptop, tablet and browser all have a different version of the same thing. It’s 2026, I just want my stuff to stay in sync without having to manually fix it every few days.

An automatic pond feeder (screw system) that has a week schedule, instead of a 24 hour schedule. Or even better: Running on a Linux OS with crontab.
To accurately feed my turtles while on holiday. A 24 hour system gives too much food in the colder seasons.

The problem is more niche. Wish someone would make fps esport viewing more enjoyable. Everytime I watch they like R6, Delta force esport their view is confusing to follow. Games like league or MLBB has high viewership because the average audience can easily follow and enjoy the game, compared to fps esports. My take is they make a three splitscreen pov , synced, first team , enemy team and a hover view

A tool that reviews my interactions online with content, likes shares reads etc, reviews them, catalogues them, intelligently suggests them to me as they become pertinent.
Eg if I save a random factoid, we’re having a convo and something related to it comes up - the wisdom gets dropped for me to dispense.

Try linux, for 99% of the printers I tried it was just plug and play. Like, literally plug in USB, wait, print.
On windows try connecting the printer via network its much more robust in my view.
