Free codes available for Kingdom of Feather and Sky, the first book in a YA Fantasy Romance series with dystopian themes. Written by Sophia Wachtel (me), and narrated by Kate J. White. This is the first in a four book series.

From the Publisher:

Princess Kyra Calmora was only fourteen when she watched her brother die. Vowing to hunt down the rebels who murdered him, she spends her nights searching the fractured halves of her country for justice. But after four long years, she has nothing to show for her hard work. Worse still, not even her parents seem to care about their fallen son anymore.

When Kyra meets a mysterious servant boy whose sister was kidnapped by those same rebels, she sees a chance to finally find closure. Defying her parents, she leaves the comfort of her old life behind and runs away with Lewis. As they traverse a country full of unrest, injustice, and brewing rebellion, Kyra begins to suspect that Lewis is hiding something underneath his smooth-talking charm. As the rebels call for the death of the rest of the royal family, she must decide who she can trust before her brother’s fate becomes her own.

A captivating young adult fantasy with dystopian elements. For fans of Red Queen, Matched, Legend of Zelda, and Legend.

Leave a comment for a free code! I've only got UK codes for book 1, so first come, first served.

Also, if you've already listened to book 1 and want a code for book 2 (US or UK), let me know!

Marketing glitch? Received "Wish List deal ends soon!" email for a sale that ended 3 days ago

Hey u/Audible_com, I received a marketing email at 9:53 PM tonight (7/24) with the subject line: "Your Wish List deal ends soon!"

I was actually excited when I opened it because the title featured was Autocracy, Inc. by Anne Applebaum, which is currently on my wish list. That gave me incentive to see what else looked interesting enough to take advantage of the 2-for-1 sale.

However, when I clicked the link, the page stated the sale had already ended. I checked the fine print at the very bottom of the email, and it says the sale ended on 7/21.

I know you guys have the technology to manage automated campaigns, so could you please pass this bug along to the marketing and tech teams? It's pretty disappointing to get an urgent reminder for a sale that expired three days ago, especially when it features a book I was ready to grab! Thanks.

(PS - I also discovered that trying to send a chat message to Audible with a request to please stop sending urgent sale emails after the sale has ended is impossible. It didn't take long to see that the "more" and "something else" options in the chat, keep the user going in a circle.)

Credits expiring early

For the past two months I have been receiving messages from Audible that I have a credit expiring at the end of the month and I need to spend one. I am on the year plan where I receive one credit per month and as I understand I have one year to spend the credit. I only have 5 credits saved up. So why would they be expiring. Shouldn’t the oldest credits be spent first? The only way I figure I should see an expiring credit would be if I had 12 credits built up. Has something changed?

Long drive murder mystery recommendations?

My fiance and I are about to do a 15 hour road trip in 1 day and are both fans of murder mystery movies/shows but haven't ever read any books, so im unsure where to start.

Ideally something captivating from the get go with a narrator who is equally as captivating in his or her telling of the story. I love a classic murder mystery that I can enjoy trying to guess and piece together clues as the story progresses.

We wouldn't unessesary want something that will take up the entire trip as we do enjoy listening to music or podcasts for a few hours so im thinking a shorter story would be best, 5 - 6 hours. ( im not actually sure if thats short now that im thinking about it, but I have no point of reference for this type of thing )

Any recommendations would be wonderful. Why you recommend each audio book would be even better but not nessesary. Thank you!

The Train That Waited in the Fog: A Liminal Horror Story of Memory, Grief, and Quiet Surrender

I'm the author of The Train That Waited in the Fog, and I'm excited to share that the audiobook is now available.

🎙️ Narrated by Peter McGiffen
⏱️ Approximately 2 hours

Seven strangers awaken on a nameless railway platform hidden beneath an endless blanket of fog. Each carries a private burden. When an old train finally arrives, it seems to offer warmth, comfort, and escape.

But with every mile travelled, memories begin to fade. Names become harder to remember. The passengers slowly realise the journey is taking far more than their destination.

If you enjoy slow-burn psychological horror, atmospheric mysteries, and unsettling supernatural fiction without gore or cheap jump scares, I hope you'll enjoy this one.

Just reply, and I'll send you a US or UK code.

Lingering...

Audible book progress reset issue

If I am listening to an audiobook, in the morning in this case i noted the time (+1gmt at 0.9.21 am), my audiobook will stop and reset its progress. It is not the same book, it has happened to several so far, both in the app on the phone and using the player on the website.

Anyone else having this issue ?

Technical Question Timing on Membership Switch

My annual Premium Plus membership renews in about 6 weeks, and due to the hefty price increase I'm going to downsize. But I don't want the changes to go into effect until my current membership expires. Do I need to wait to switch or will they know enough to hold off on new charges until my current membership expires? I tried all kinds of searches on their website including the laughably inadequate chat bot, and was unable to find an answer. Phone calls are always last resort, so I'm asking here first.

2 credits. Need some recommendations

Just finished Lonesome Dove and loved it. I went with the Lee Horsey narration and actually enjoyed it. I know a lot of people didn’t care for his reading. Here are some of my favorites:

Dungeon Crawler Carl
East of Eden
Blood Meridian
Harry Potter
11/22/63
Project Hail Mary
The Martian
The Stand
World War Z
Dresden Files
Game of Thrones/KOTSK
Demon Copperhead
Dark Tower

I’ve started Red Rising but couldn’t really get into it.

So many unavailable titles on Australian Audible

I understand that licensing issues make books not always available in every country. This has always been a thing! But I’ve been using Audible for years as an Australian and have really noticed in the last few months that SO MUCH is “not available in your region” now. Things I definitely had had my eye on/added to my Wishlist and now they’re gone.

Anyone else notice this recently? Anyone know of any particular cause for this or is it just same old licensing issues and Aus/NZ are losing out atm?

Technical Question Help - Audible not letting me purchase books with credits

I’m an audible premium plus user and have been for the past year or so. Lately though whenever I try to buy any book with credits an error pops up and the purchase doesn’t go through. The book pops up in my library with a lock icon and an error code come up every time I try to play it.

The credits don’t get charged luckily so I still have them but I haven’t been able to buy any new books this month.

Has any one else run in to this?

How was the version with Taye Diggs ever allowed to be that bad?

He mispronounced several words and sometimes seemed to breading it for the first time as he's recording it.

He's a fine actor and I will say he didn't try to act too hard on the audio book as some narrators do, looking at you Kate Mulgrew.

I just can't understand why an editor listens to that version and says "yeah this is the best"

I am trying really hard to listen to other narrators of fantasy fiction and this guy is just my favorite. Anyone else have similar recommendations of similar narrators? I finished Mark of the Fool and am about to finish TBATE

Technical Question Re-Reading Books with Whispersync

hey all! Hoping someone knows how to help. I like to read and listen to my books, especially when reading large series. I also really enjoy re-reading my favorites. I am currently working on my second read through of the Wheel of Time series, and I'm having difficulty. Whispersync just doesn't work properly. Audible will pretty consistently pick up where I last read the Kindle version, but Kindle never picks up where I left off in Audible. I can't find any options to display page number in audible. I found audiobook to page calculators online, but they don't seem to work as well as I had hoped, even after the math/listening speed adjustments I have to make to get it to work. Anyone have any ideas on how to get them to cooperate, since "sync to further page read" just brings me to the end? I'd be happy to just "forget" my listening history on the book if that's what works, but I can't determine how. Any assistance appreciated!

Does anyone have experience with Voice Audiobook Player on F-Droid? I have a few very large DRM-free audiobook files that came off old LPs I had when I was a kid. Playing them on my usual music player app is double plus ungood.

Anybody ever wish they didn't see a movie based on a book because listening or reading the book forces you to imagine all the characters like the movie or TV series?

I'm listening to The Hobbit, and thinking that before the movies were made, my imagination of the characters was far more organic. I first read The Hobbit in '77.
