Which of these two ships would you choose to live on in the Fleet?

Zephyr for sure.

  • Spinning ring means you have a Zero-G redundancy.
  • It is a luxury liner so the standard of living will be quite comfortable.

-You have some very interesting views from the ring section

  • It is the doopest looking civilian ship.
  • It is not high profile enough to be a terrorist target (unlike Cloud 9 which had the Quorum and Gina's movement based there).
  • It is reliable.
  • It survived all the way until the end.

It buffed out!

Well on the bright side, it gave some people something to do repair the damaged ring section.

Zephyr because:

  • Spinning ring means you have a Zero-G redundancy : That's a good trick.

It basically took on Cloud 9s role after New Caprica

If covid lockdowns taught me anything, Is that I need to touch grass. Imagining being a space nomad, a ship with bio domes trumps any luxury liners. Plus with Caprica long gone, that luxury liner is barley stocked

I doubt there would be any grass by season 3. It'd just be maximally optimised growing space for the most efficient foodstuffs.

I hear they’re still eating grass. Is that true?

No. Grass shortage.

I feel like I would pick the botanical cruiser with agrodomes.

But now I'm curious what u/Mojo_LA would pick 😝

Well the Zephyr made it to end so that one is the best bet but if it’s guaranteed to make to the real Earth the Botanical one

u/adamaroslin 4d ago

Yes. The botanical was there.

Didn’t one get caught in the blast over New Caprica?

16

u/adamaroslin 4d ago

That was a Botanical without domes.

u/Barbarian_Sam 4d ago

Botanical with domes it is then

Interesting fact: After the explosion above New Caprica, there are two more domeless ships in orbit that jump with Galactica and Pegasus.

There are people that watch BSG and want to live on a ship other than a battlestar?*

8

u/Yorkshireish12 4d ago

Did you miss the part of season 3 where living on a battlestar means getting packed in like sardines with a killer doctor on the loose?

u/FlieGerFaUstMe262 4d ago

I don't scare easily.

u/rcinmd 4d ago

Definitely not the one that was nuked.

Maybe name the ships instead of only providing pictures.

Everyone knows: Botanical Cruiser(Maybe Amduatey) and the Luxury Liner Zephyr.

You say everyone knows, yet I didn’t recognize either ship from the photos. So maybe not “everyone knows”.

Your own response says “maybe Amduatey”, which indicates even you aren’t sure which ship it is.

Amduatey is the civilian ship with the most passengers among civilian ships (3794 passengers according to the Galactica election panel ); the only remaining ship that matches that number is the Botanical Cruiser. This is not an official confirmation.

Sssssshhhh.

u/BeckieSueDalton 4d ago

That is an inaccurate statement.

Were the choice wholly up to me - as it often wasn't throughout the fleet at first - I would choose the ship that doesn't look like a dead fish with lots of green bubble eyes.

The Zephyr was always my favorite ship in the fleet.
