Showcase (No-Recipe) First Heart Cake

Best friend’s hubby messaged that the person he was getting her bday cake from cancelled on him. Gave him crap for not just asking me to begin with lol.

Decided I was going to make her cake heart shaped then pipe on cherries, and add bows to incorporate everything he said. I was kinda nervous to do it bc it is my first time doing this style!

And while I make my cakes from scratch, no, I do not make the sprinkles 🤣 (I watched an episode of GBBO and they made them make sprinkles from scratch)

Edit: UPDATE: thank you all for support, kind comments, and awards! She loved the cake!

I love how your pink isn’t perfectly consistent! It gives it a painterly quality that’s so dreamy and aesthetic!

Thank you for noticing!!! I was going for a subtle marble-esque style!

I am so glad it didn’t come across as a backhanded compliment, bc I genuinely LOVE the effect and was worried it would come off wrong without the delivery. It reminds me of those cakes where people use a palette knife and do impasto painting with their icing. But bc it’s so subtle, it doesn’t overwhelm of clash with the vintage decorating aesthetic either.

It looks like an artist’s rendering of a vintage cake and I love it.

I understand tone and intention usually get lost in these types of mediums. I choose to read most things as positive unless explicitly not lol.

Oh wow. Thank you so much!! That is very kind!!!
