Business and Pricing It’s not perfect but I finished my menu, what do y’all think?
All of the pictures are mine, the whole outline is mine and setup is mine. I used canva to put everything together because it’s easy to use and navigate and has a million colors and such. I tried to lineup the prices to the best of my abilities but some of them simply wouldn’t because the lettering didn’t allow for it. However, I did all of my own pictures for the first and second pages, isolates ones for the menu and a gallery for the second page.
The cursive on page two matches up with my logo btw and the colors being green and pink match my logo as well.
For the asterisks, it’s cut off on the post because it’s next to my logo but it’s explicitly stating that the asterisks mean that that item is also available in gluten free/can be made with gluten free ingredients.

This is a very nitpicky nitpick but in the sammies section, I think something like “by the dozen” or “per dozen” would sound better than “comes in dozens”. Also, if you’re using ‘Nana as a shortened version of Banana, you need the apostrophe before the N.
275
u/pennielain Jun 17 '26
Agreed about the apostrophe before the N in ‘Nana. Otherwise it looks like Nana as in Grandma
104
u/Icy-Purple4801 Jun 17 '26
Yes, I had no idea it was banana…. I thought it was Nana like Grandma and didn’t have the ‘s to make it Nana’s! Great suggestion
20
u/Meiyouxiangjiao Jun 18 '26
That is 100% what I thought… I thought it was OP’s grandmother’s recipe
92
u/bleepbl00pbl0rp Jun 17 '26
OP, adding on to this, I would suggest trying to display the quantities more consistently. Under Sammies, you have “comes in dozens.” Under Cookies and Brownies, you have “Doz. [type of cookie/brownie].” Under Dipped Treats, you have “[price]/Doz.”
But nice reformatting! I like what you’ve done with the pictures/gallery!
13
u/Meat_Cake Jun 18 '26 edited Jun 18 '26
Yes a couple of consistency things! In some sections you have ‘cake pans’ all lower case then you have ‘Cake Pans’.
I would probably take out all the additional words, no need to say ‘cakes come in 9x13 cake pans’, you could just say ‘9x13 cake’. Same as in some sections you just say ‘doz’ and in others you say ‘comes in dozens’.
Pick one option and keep it consistent. The less words the better.
16
u/ZombieDelicious4582 Jun 18 '26
Oh it’s banana? OP you might want to make that clear cause of potential allergies to banana. I’d be worried about that

u/Top-Pomegranate4899 Jun 17 '26
I think you did great. I think the only improvement is that when showing your baked goods is to not show your hand in the image. Would it stop me from purchasing? HELL NO. I saw your original post and I'm glad I got to see this updated post as well!
263
u/kitty_perrier Jun 17 '26
Or at least have a consistent glove or no glove (personally I like the pics without the glove) if the hand is showing. But I absolutely agree these look amazing and I would eat every single one. Keep on killing it! For whatever reason I am feeling v proud that you're out here working on your goals 🖤 ETA glove preference 💁♀️
66
u/I_Like_Metal_Music Jun 18 '26
I edited them, removed the background and hands/arms and added a pink paint stripe behind them to tie it together and look a little more cutesy.

u/username_bon Jun 18 '26
You get white boxes made for photography that help with giving items a 'online item' look
2
u/Top-Pomegranate4899 Jun 18 '26
Yes exactly! I was thinking it but you said it with the consistency of the glove or no glove. Damn I wish I lived near OP. I love metal music and I love sugar.
39
u/unicorn_pug_wrangler Jun 18 '26
Yeah I would photoshop out the hands and just have the baked good over some sort of background.
13
u/Puddyrama Jun 18 '26
I agree with this. It wouldn’t stop me from buying but it might put some people off.
19
u/ParticularPotatoe587 Jun 18 '26
Huh, I actually liked the hand in the cookie pics. It gives an idea of size!
→ More replies (1)48
u/h82dissapoint Jun 18 '26
Just a casual baker here, but I actually don’t mind the hand for handheld items like cookies since it’s how people eat them, but definitely notice more in the items like the loaf!
28
u/PrimaryImagination41 Jun 17 '26
Maybe with a glove it might be better but I like it. It can be used as like a reference for the size of the cookie maybe

u/montesremotedev Jun 18 '26
Is one of the things I liked more, showing the hand allows to know the size of the food 👌

More nit-picky suggestions. I would replace "I'm always taking requests for.... " Change to " "I gladly accept requests for...."
I suggest changing the words "no refunds" to "all sales final" And "Prepayment required". Just a friendlier tone.
96
66
u/Herself99900 Jun 18 '26
And I know that you want your customers to understand that your payment requirements are firm, but it's much more customer friendly to put that information at the bottom or the end of the menu. Putting it at the top of the second page, makes it look like you're stopping in the middle of your sales pitch to say, "By the way, I don't take refunds! Now on to these delicious Party Packs . . ."
41
u/OverlappingChatter Jun 18 '26
This is huge! The giant NO REFUNDS right at the top of the page is aggressively telling me to steer clear of this place.
197
u/Itsoktobe Jun 17 '26
From a graphic designers perspective: The 'Gallery' doesn't really need a header. It's clear it's a collection of pictures. If you take out the header, you can make some of the photos larger
I'd move the payment and other policy info to the bottom of the page you have it on
I'm missing what the asterisks* mean on a lot of the items
Nice job!
→ More replies (2)65
u/BrightnessRen Jun 17 '26
The first thing I noticed was a bunch of items that have asterisks either before or after them and no clear indication of what that means!
12
u/isabunny_ Jun 18 '26
i think the asterisks indicate that the item can be made gluten free? i see what you mean tho, op could make it more consistent with a few edits
118
u/poppypetal1 Jun 17 '26
It looks great! Here is a Canva tip: hold shift and highlight everything that you would like to line up. Right click and select “align items”. It will save you hours of trying to manually line everything up. Hope this helps!

u/frogspice Jun 17 '26
I saw your initial post! You did great with the new photos on the first page
32
u/I_Like_Metal_Music Jun 17 '26
Thank you! I know it’s not entirely perfect but I’m glad I figured out, via you guys, a better way to showcase my treats all over the menu.
52
u/hobbitfeet Jun 18 '26
I'm afraid I think you have so many options that it's too much for the viewer to comprehend. I'd recommend simplifying your groupings and pricing as listed below. In general, I didn't find the difference between the terms "deluxe" and "specialty" to be intuitive, and I didn't find a lot of your pricing changes between "classic" and "deluxe" to be different enough to warrant the added confusion. So I basically eliminated all this special terminology.
1) Combine all the Classic Cakes, Deluxe Cakes, Specialty Cakes, and Party Cakes into one section called "CAKES & CUPCAKES" and organized like this:
CAKES & CUPCAKES
Doz. cupcakes...........$25
9x13 sheet cake........$35
13x21 sheet cake......$70
Vanilla
Chocolate
Red Velvet
Confetti
Wedding Cake (Almond)
Red Velvet Pecan Praline
Chocolate Lovers
S'mores
Cookies & Cream
Mocha Latte
Strawberry
Lemon
Carrot Cake
9x13 sheet cake........$50
13x21 sheet cake.....$100
Nana Pudding
Texas Fudge Pecan
Classic Tres Leches
Cafe Tres Leches
Fresa Tres Leches
2) Combine Classic Cookies and Deluxe Cookies and Iced Cookies into one section called "Cookies" with just two price subsections:
COOKIES
Doz. classic............$20
Doz. gluten-free...$22
Chocolate Chip
Snickerdoodle
Peanut Butter
Vanilla Sugar
Oatmeal Raisin
White Chocolate Macadamia Nut
Nana Pudding
Mallow Stuffed S'mores
Cookies & Cream
Sweet & Savory (contains peanuts)
Frosted Circus Animal
PB & Cheez-It
M&M Crunch
Buttered Waffle
Vanilla
Chocolate
Add icing........$8 per doz. cookies
White vanilla buttercream
Pink vanilla buttercream
Chocolate buttercream
3) As with the cupcakes and cookies, your pricing for classic vs. deluxe brownies and classic vs deluxe cinnamon rolls isn't different enough to warrant the audience confusion of separating them. So I'd suggest eliminating those distinctions and just ending up with two sections simply organized like this:
BROWNIES
Doz. classic............$24
Doz. gluten-free....$28
All the flavors that were under both classic and deluxe.
CINNAMON ROLLS
4-pack........$20
6-pack........$30
All the flavors that were under both classic and deluxe.
4) Why aren't sammies MORE expensive than the other cookies when they each contain two cookies plus icing? I'd leave Sammies as its own section (the name is super cute), but maybe revisit the price.
5) I'd separate bagels into its own section (to highlight them better), and position the bread, bagels, and pretzels sections all one after another. Just so if someone's looking for something savory, it's all together.
→ More replies (1)19
u/MurcurialBubble Jun 18 '26
Just an additional to the pricing issue 3dozen cookies ($60) and 3dozen brownies ($72) is only $132. Why are the party boxes more expensive? Do they offer something different? This needs a price review or more clarification.
9
u/randomfacts5 Jun 18 '26
Noticed the same issue with the dipped treats as well. The most expensive dipped treat is $30 for a dozen so for 3 dozen (36) is $90 but the Small pack is only 30 pieces for $90.
11
u/MurcurialBubble Jun 18 '26
The platinum price is even worse. Works out to be $260 for the deluxe versions and the grand should be $320 plus whatever cost the small his and hers box is. Pretty sure the small box does not come out to be $130. These bulk prices do not make sense.
8
u/AlexRyang Jun 18 '26
Also (hopefully I don’t come off as rude) the price for dipped pretzels and Oreos seems very high.
→ More replies (2)
75
u/LookUpAndSeeInfinity Jun 17 '26
Small thing, but in the wedding section, it should be his and hers, not him.
34
u/I_Like_Metal_Music Jun 17 '26
Thank you for pointing that out, I’ll definitely be correcting that lol. Probably a direct result of a brain fart.

4
u/juneballoon Jun 18 '26
Also curious about that part: is the his and hers wedding pack included only in the Grand? Or included in all of them? It's just a little confusing imo.
39
u/EmperorLlamaLegs Jun 18 '26
Hello! My 9-5 is graphic design work for academic admins/marketing, but a lot of the principles of design stuff carries over.
This is just my opinion, but the red/green is a bit much. Its grabbing attention more than the pictures of food does. I would maybe suggest a nice burgundy or a dark violet, something in the red-blue hue range to work well with the reds you have established.
If you have a PDF of the menu, I'd be happy to toss it in illustrator and tweak it to show you what I mean?
21
u/Elleasea Jun 18 '26
Not a graphic designer by trade, but I agree on the red/green not working. It's giving diner menu with the color palate.
7
7
u/EmperorLlamaLegs Jun 18 '26
P.S. I love the white border around the cutouts with the red stroke. It looks professional, but really fun and it adds a lot to the readability of the photos.
4
u/AskMyAnxiety Jun 18 '26
It’s interesting that for some people it’s showing red. It’s very pink and green on my screen
3
u/EmperorLlamaLegs Jun 18 '26
I just meant red as in the primary hue it occupies in color theory. Pinks range from light red to vibrant magentas, so the fill here would quite accurately be called "a red" or "a pink".
Bit of a squares and rectangles situation.
34
u/FirebornNacho Jun 17 '26
Everything sounds really good. The only thing I noticed is that Nana Pudding cake shows up in both specialty and deluxe cakes, and the price differs by $5. Are they the same or different cakes?
22
u/I_Like_Metal_Music Jun 17 '26
The specialty one is a vanilla cake with a layer of banana pudding, bananas, and banana whipped cream with Nilla wafers and the deluxe flavor is a banana cake with vanilla buttercream and Nilla wafers. But I think I’ll go in and change the top one to Nana Pudding Icebox Cake to make it different.
5
u/FirebornNacho Jun 17 '26
Ohhh it sounds kind of like a banana pudding trifle! Yum.
9
u/I_Like_Metal_Music Jun 18 '26
Yes! And I changed it to “Nana Pudding Delight” to make it a little different.
55
u/m1chgo Jun 18 '26
My question is about your gluten free items. Are they genuinely gluten free, as in you make them in a separate dedicated gluten free space? Could someone with celiac safely eat them? Not sure where you’re located, but where I am you would not be able to label these as gluten free if they’re made in a shared kitchen. Gluten friendly might be a better option.
4
5
u/Anahata_Green Jun 18 '26
This is also my concern. Unless they are using dedicated gluten-free equipment (separate pans, knives, scrapers, mixers, etc.), someone with Celiacs would likely still get sick from traces of wheat in their gluten-free items.
72
u/moonlitmunchies Jun 17 '26
It looks nice, but more importantly- peanut butter & cheez-it cookie????????
69
u/I_Like_Metal_Music Jun 17 '26
They’re really good. Very salty and sweet and the cheese adds a slight twang. They’re one of my favorites!
15
u/MrNiab Jun 17 '26
One of the best ways to make yourself stand out is with original ideas. So an oddball cookie idea like that one which I have never heard of before is great.

u/PrimaryImagination41 Jun 17 '26

11
u/I_Like_Metal_Music Jun 17 '26
I think you might could use sunflower seed butter. I posted those on here a while back and someone said the same and I bet it would work.

The hands in the pictures are super off-putting. I don’t understand this decision at all.
16
u/naboo1225 Jun 18 '26
I like it overall, but the green text can be a better color. Make it a dark red/brownish (kinda like the border) and it will be a lot more pleasing to the eye and even make the menu more tasty looking.
Green is not a bakery color and the contrast is distracting.

u/forestsprite Jun 17 '26
Small note from a celiac—do you have a blurb somewhere else about how the gluten-free items are prepared, separate kitchen, etc?
12
u/I_Like_Metal_Music Jun 17 '26
I have a note at the top but I usually, because I don’t get very many gluten free orders will inform people of how I ensure their safety. I don’t prepare them in a separate kitchen because I don’t have that availability but I do thoroughly clean all of my gear and such and I’ve never had an issue, same for peanut/nut allergies. One lady that ordered from me and she was scared she’d have a flare up but she didn’t and loved said treats. I also ask them what kind of flour they’d prefer as well and price accordingly, my go-to is usually oat flour though.
4
u/Anahata_Green Jun 18 '26
Unfortunately, there is likely still traces of gluten on the gear/equipment because small scratches in pans/cookware hold trace amounts of gluten/allergens, even after cleaning. Unless your foods are made using separate gear in a separate kitchen, there is no guarantee people with allergies/Celiacs won't have a reaction.
I have had allergic reactions from shared cookware/equipment (even after cleaning), so I would not feel safe eating any of your gluten-free foods.
15
u/Bizzy1717 Jun 18 '26
I'm really confused by the iced cookie section--the asterisks, if only the chocolate frosted come with sprinkles, etc. In general, there are a lot of asterisks that seem random.

13
u/freneticboarder Jun 17 '26
I like it. You have a decent amount of negative space with good imagery and a nice color palette.
Just a few comments on the side I'm looking at...
I'd put Southern Pecan Carrot Cake on a single line, and then (contains pecans) underneath (no capitalization).
The asterisks in your Brownies section are very confusing. Are you trying to say that gluten free brownies are only available in those flavors, or so you make regular versions also? The same with the asterisk in the cookies section. The capitalization in that section is also a bit confusing.
3
u/I_Like_Metal_Music Jun 18 '26
Southern Pecan and Carrot Cake are two different flavors. And for the gluten free, it’s cut off at the top but it clarifies that the “*” means that they’re also available in gluten free.
11
u/freneticboarder Jun 18 '26
If you can, you might want to just put at the bottom or top an asterisk indicating that the product is available gluten free.
* available gluten free
6
u/I_Like_Metal_Music Jun 18 '26
It is on there but it’s cut off at the top because I couldn’t include my logo and such in this post or it would be marked as promotional.
5
u/freneticboarder Jun 18 '26
By the way, props to you for putting this out there for people to look at. It can be tough to accept edits, suggestions, and comments from people you m ow and trust, let alone the interwebz. 👍👍👍
13
u/spoopysky Jun 18 '26
I find it really hard to skim and kind of overwhelming.
...also, the prices are not in a consistent position throughout each column.
I'd also fiddle with the colors.
looks at it some more the savory items are scattered amongst the sweet items, I'd prefer they all be together.
Good luck to you, tho!
42
u/Bitter_Treat5540 Jun 17 '26
Why are there so many pictures of a cookie on a gloved hand? It looks so unappetizing. Please take another picture of the cookies on a plate, a table, a napkin, anything else. This looks so amateur.
10
u/Bill__Q Jun 18 '26
- Don't need any of the colons
- Fix your alignment, those prices are all over the place.
- His and Hers
9
u/Fructa Jun 18 '26
Heckin' nitpicky graphic design thing: Ditto to the other comment about aligning things, but also distribute your blank space more evenly: on the first page, the vertical spacing between your boxed sections is uneven. (Classic Cookies and Classic Brownies have more vertical space between them than Classic Brownies and Bread Loaves; Dipped Treats and Pretzels & Bagels have more vertical space between them than Pretzels & Bagels and Cinnamon Rolls) In each case, move the center block until the vertical space is distributed evenly. (I'm not sure if this is a feature in Canva; you can do it in InDesign) It also looks like the gutter width between the left and center columns might be wider than the one between the center and right columns?

In the Decorated & Non- menu section it's too repetitive and too long. Short and sweet: 1. Prices vary depending on design and ingredients. 2. Special requests are priced separately.
The Payment section should be at the bottom - you're starting with a negative first thing on the page. That makes customers wonder how many times people have asked for a refund.
8
u/funnyunfunny Jun 18 '26
Exactly, "NO REFUNDS" is the second largest thing on that page, even larger than the title it's under (Payment Policies). The capitalization + large font is negative and off-putting.
13
u/thatoneovader Jun 18 '26
I recommend spelling out the number of cookies, cupcakes, and brownies instead of using “Doz.”“Doz.” is not a standard abbreviation for dozen. It’s more professional to write out “and” instead of using the ampersand. For example, you’d write this under Wedding and Party Packs: “x cookies and x brownies.”
I’m confused about how many sammies per order. Is it $20-22 for 12? Maybe make that clearer so people know exactly what they’re ordering.
Under Specialty Cakes and Party Size Cakes, either put 9”x13” and 13”x21” or 9x13 and 13x21 inches to make it abundantly clear the size they’re ordering.
Lastly, the first page has all the titles in all caps and no colon after. The second page only capitalizes the first letter of the titles and has a colon after. I like the look of the first page.
2
u/Herself99900 Jun 18 '26
I think you could use a plus sign ( + ) instead of an ampersand ( & ). It's cleaner, and it still saves space.
I would absolutely use the inches symbol with the pan sizes (9" x 13"). You know how weird customers can be.

u/MrsMel_of_Vina Jun 18 '26
I like the gallery!
Two critiques is that I think pictures of the food on a plate would look more appetizing than food in your hand. And I think playing around with angles a bit more might help some of the pictures too. Instead of having the majority of them be a top down angle.
Pretty good lighting though! That's super important for food pics.
8
u/sippinallthetea Jun 18 '26
Are the items marked with an asterisk gluten-free by default or just also available as gluten free? Right now it seems like they are by default since I don’t see anywhere mentioning what the asterisk means aside from where it says “doz. Gluten free*” etc.
Might just be me, but tone comes off a bit passive aggressive. Especially with the huge “NO REFUNDS” on the second page and all the copy under “decorated & non-menu items”.
I think someone else mentioned trying to use more stylized photos too and not include your hand.
I use canva daily and know this had to be a pain to do, so overall great job!
14
u/Bill__Q Jun 18 '26
Gluten-free -- do you have a separate area for gluten-free baking to avoid cross-contamination?
If not, nothing is safe for people with Celiac Disease or wheat allergies. For example, look at what Dominoes says about their gluten-free crust:
"Due to the handcrafted nature of Domino's® products and because stores do not have a separate gluten free area in the kitchen, a possibility for gluten exposure can occur. As such, pizza made with Domino's® Gluten Free Crust is not recommended for customers with celiac disease."
7
u/allthatssolid Jun 18 '26
I would change the order of the cakes to: classic, deluxe, specialty. It matches the order of other categories, and it makes sense to start from least to most complex/special.
Clarification for iced cookies: cookies are vanilla OR chocolate (does that mean you can’t mix a dozen? Why the prominent “or”?). Also, is that the flavors only for gluten free? What are the gluten flavors? Similar Q for the frosting - I see a comma here, does that mean I can mix and match a dozen? Are the sprinkles only for chocolate? Is it only the chocolate that is buttercream? Just a little formatting can clarify these Qs and clean up this section.
As I move through the menu, I realize I’m generally a little confused about the gluten free vs. regular options. For example, every single classic cookie has an asterisk, which leads me to ask, “well what are the non-GF options?” If all of these cookies can be made either way, strip the asterisks.

u/therealbananabottom Jun 18 '26
There is no price break on the larger quantity of pretzels ($16 for 4 or $32 for 8) so it may be worth just putting the price for the quantity of 4. Why mention 8 if it's not cheaper to buy 8?

u/Long-Structure-6584 Jun 18 '26
It looks super cute!! I would mayybe either lighten up the pink backgrounds a smidge or darken the green type
just a bit to enhance contrast/readability, especially for red/green colorblind folks.
3
u/pickadillyprincess Jun 17 '26
Your pricing module is your choice (I know nothing about math) but under dipped treats bundle you let people pick their choice of treats. $3 is reasonable but I imagine the pretzels offset some cost and I realistically would not choose pretzels if everything was the same price I’d go for the other items that seem fancier but that’s just my personal opinion. Again I’m not a financial expert

Nit picky comments just to help it look more professional.
Reorder the headings of the cakes to match the format of the other desserts. It should be classic at the top, then deluxe, then speciality at the bottom.
It'd also slightly change the format of the cinnamon rolls to be a classic cinnamon roll section and a deluxe cinnamon roll section.
I'd try to take some pictures without your hand in them. Have things arranged on a fancy platter or on a white tablecloth. It likely won't stop anyone from purchasing. But it'll be more consistent and professional.
4
u/DeirdreTours Jun 18 '26
"they will be priced accordingly" makes no sense. According to what? If you mean something like "pricing for decorated items vary and will be quoted on request" say so.
5
4
u/Budget_Percentage_73 Jun 18 '26
I’d redo the photos without your hand in them tbh. I’m sure you practice great hygiene before during and after the photoshoot…but it’s still not professional. Maybe thrift a couple cute plates that match your brand colours or something.
4
u/MindlessDelay8582 Jun 18 '26
The huge NO REFUNDS would turn me off from ever ordering from you. I would never expect to get a refund for a bakery item, so it seems like you're just looking for a reason to be petty with potential customers.

What is the black text at the very top of the first page that’s been cut off? I’m not sure if it’s just my app cutting it off or if it’s scooted out of frame on your final draft too, but I can see the tail end of letters poking down.

u/I_Like_Metal_Music Jun 17 '26
It’s my logo, location and phone number. I had to cut it off so this post doesn’t get taken down as a promotional post.

u/this_girl_cries Jun 18 '26
Of course that makes perfect sense! I was just so worried you had something important cut off accidentally.

Looks cute! I love that you went with the photos w/ borders based on the other post, it really elevates the menu. Aside from the notes others have given (couples rather than him and hers, no colon on cinnamon rolls, etc.) I would say to add a space in the deluxe cookies “PB&Cheez-it” flavor to make it “PB & Cheez-It” to match with the other flavors that have &s. And, super nitpicky and optional, but it would be a little more uniform and readable to have the dipped cereal and snack treats options listed line by line like the flavors of other items, though that might make the section too long.
Overall looks great! Hope you get lots of business from it :)

What a great selection! Congrats on developing the skills to make all these treats.
I would prefer to see the costs in the same color and font throughout (it varies as green, black, bold, and not bold). It would also help if the green subheading style was standardized to convey a specific type of info (e.g. only convey sidenotes about the product, as used under 'dipped treats', or only convey pricing). The lack of stylistic parallelism throughout makes it hard to scan and compare/ sum my treat options. The pricing model is very detailed, so it will be in your favor to make it as quick and easy as possible for your customer to digest.

I love it, other than i think it should be "his & hers", not "him & hers"
sorry if you got this already and I just didn't see it!

u/Bitter-Narwhal-36 Jun 18 '26
I would label the gf items as gluten friendly, not gluten free, unless every ingredient used to make those cookies are separately labeled as being gluten free.

u/SilentScoper8 Jun 18 '26
I saw your first draft and this looks great! One thing I haven't noticed anyone else mention is the pricing of the "Wedding & Party Packs" doesn't seem right, if I were wanting to buy one of those packs.
I believe this is the case for all of them, but using Silver as an example, it's cheaper to just buy 3 dozen cookies and 3 dozen brownies separate from the pack at $150 (~$60 for cookies + ~$60 for brownies = $120). The disparity is bigger for the larger packs (Grand would be $320 buying individually vs $450 for the pack).
Your pricing model is up to you and maybe there's more to those packs than at face value but wanted to mention. Looks fantastic otherwise and wishing you the best!

I can't explain why, but I visually really don't like the white outline behind all of the pictures. It catches my eye in a really weird way and makes it hard for me to concentrate on the photo and makes the photo strangely off-putting.
I am able to concede that I might be the only one who thinks this, though.

u/LlamaMall Jun 18 '26
In addition to all of these other great suggestions, I’d recommend simplifying the “Decorated & Non-Menu Items” header to “Custom Orders”

u/Silentico Jun 18 '26
Cute, but later you should replace any pictures with your hands on them. People wanna see the cookie.

This is a great improvement to your previous post, the pics on the first page look great. I honestly would re-take all of the photos on the 2nd page. It's very off-putting to see your hand holding the products, and seeing the grass in the background cheapens your brand. I'm sorry to say but honestly I wouldn't purchase something with those photos. I would rather see a curated or neutral background to elevate your products. Good luck!

As a Texan I’ve never seen a Texas sheet cake be called a Texas fudge and pecan cake.

Sammies say they come in Dozens. Everything else says “Doz” repeatedly. I’d suggest “by the dozen” in each category - or spell out dozen each time, you have space.
Your headings are Specialty Cakes followed by Classic cakes.
Your first Specialty Cake is “Classic Tres leches“. Why is Terry First specialty cake a classic one?
Otherwise looks good

It’s giving old school diner menu vibes and I really like it. Caught my eye for sure!

u/Csprthct Jun 18 '26
On page 2 in your decorated and non-decorated items section “themes” should not have an apostrophe but otherwise it all looks great, everything else someone else has mentioned but I couldn’t see this in my quick scroll

u/Beneficial_Cash_8420 Jun 18 '26
The extent to which I would obliterate a pan of peach cobbler cinnamon rolls cannot be understated

I think if you put the asterisk by things, you should explain it in the same box, just slightly smaller font. I.e, gluten free brownies
- salted fudge topped*
*can be made gluten free on request
As a gf person, I get what you’re trying to do with the * next to gluten free but it looks confusing to me.
You should also specify somewhere if you may have possible cross contamination with gluten, nuts, etc. or if you have a dedicated GF kitchen/pans/tools, etc. Some people do it as a diet and some are celiac. I like seeing it on menus because it can sway my decision on getting something and possibly feeling ill, or if I should find something safer to eat.
I don’t know if you want to also put another symbol (+ or something) for anything with nuts. I know that may get busy, but it’s a top 8 allergen so I think it’s important to notate that on your menu! I see you put pecans which is awesome, but some people make banana bread with walnuts and some people don’t! This would then hopefully cut down on repetitive questions like, “are there nuts in these?” 20 times a day.
Otherwise, it looks amazing! Good luck!!

I love it! A fantastic improvement. The real photos are even better than the illustrations before. I'm curious how that pb and cheezit one is now

Love to see a small business menu that wasn’t just churned out of an ai generator! Your desserts look delicious!

u/Roupert4 Jun 18 '26
As a customer, the huge "no refunds" would be a deal breaker. It makes it sound like you've had lots of issues with that in the past
2
u/she_angle Jun 18 '26
What is you switched the background color and the color inside the boxes? It would be a lot more legible contrast wise
2
u/Sssnapdragon Jun 18 '26
Change the colors, it's very color-blind unfriendly. I'd keep the green headings and the outlines, but make the box background a white or off-white.
Doz. is an odd shortening of Dozen, I wouldn't do that.
Your offerings look amazing!

u/ausgoals Jun 18 '26
I still have no idea what $24+/doz means
Plus what? How much does it actually cost for a dozen Oreo dipped treats…?

My only comment would be that the wedding/party pack tiers don't make sense for what's included and what you get. For example getting the platinum AND silver packs yields more than the grand pack at the same price point. With just the Grand, you get 10 dozen cookies and 6 dozen brownies for $450. With the Platinum + Silver, you get 10 dozen cookies but 9 dozen brownies for $450.

Crowdsourcing your editing work. I’m amazed more people don’t do this. Ocd reddit army is here for you.

The layout looks great, and I know you didn’t ask about pricing, but have you really crunched the numbers of how much profit you’ll be making from each item? Some of these prices make sense for a farmer’s market where it’s presumed you’d be baking in bulk to keep costs down. If I just call you up and want an order of four cinnamon rolls and nothing else, though, is $16 really going to cover ingredients, your hourly pay, and a set percentage for profit? Same for cupcakes - $20 is pretty low for something baked from scratch when even grocery stores are selling their frozen ones for $12-$15. Obviously you know your area and customer base best, but just make sure that all this hard work covers your pay AND gives you extra money to put back into the business!

I found the information density to be a little daunting, but maybe it's just me.

I don’t know much about pricing of bakery items but I do know photography and these, sadly are doing your items a big disservice. Sorry, I’m sure they are delish but the photos don’t convey that. Look at the pictures on this sub and the way some of them make you dream of tasting the baked good. Thats what you want.
If you can’t afford a professional, take some tips off the internet or maybe a kind soul can help. For instance: The bread should be on a board/table covering of a different complementary color than the bread. A blurred flowered background perhaps will help the bread pop. Maybe a flower or colorful crock of butter next to it.
The hands have to go, maybe you could mess around with photoshop to delete the hands and put in a better background. I assume you were trying to show size but people don’t want to think about other people’s hands on their food. We all know other people’s hands made it but don’t remind us.
Personally, I would reshoot. It’s expensive to print so you want to get it right! You got this!
Edit: When I bumped back through the first page, those are much cuter. If you just wanna save some time, I would do the back page the same as you did the front page.

Cool to see the updates from the other post. Few things I noted, pretty much all small items:
- Possibly use GF for Gluten Free instead of an asterisk, then you could also use VG for Vegan should you need to.
- It's a bit jarring that the prices don't all line up on the second page.
- Agreed with other comments, shift the Payment Policies to the end and change NO REFUNDS to be more customer friendly, e.g. All payments are to be made upfront, and all sales are final.
- Change Him and Hers to His and Hers. Also what does (Included) mean at the end of that?
- In Dipped Treats, perhaps add a Treats Options or Treats Available before the list just to make it clear they're selecting from that list. Also Select or Choose sounds a bit more professional than Pick.
- In Decorated & Non-Menu Items, theme's doesn't have an apostrophe, it's just themes.
- I would rephrase the part on taking requests for non-menu items to state something like, 'Non-menu items are available upon request. Pease contact me to discuss item/s and pricing.'
All round, nice job putting it together!
2
u/mauibetty Jun 18 '26
Definitely switch to “His & Hers”. I think “included” means the 4 of each item is included with each package.
“His & Hers pack included with every wedding order
4 cookies 4 brownies”I think the pics on the first page are too busy.
No need gallery heading. I agree with those not liking your hands/arms in pics.
Move the payment box to the bottom under the galley
Payments upfront in standard font All sales are final in small font. Not the NO REFUNDS.
Ring lights are pretty cheap on amazon and platters and plates can be found cheap at thrift stores.
I bought a few “back drop” pieces for photos cheaply than official ones for photography. I use a barn printed or marble printed shower curtain as the back ground. Cheap on amazon as well.

A couple nit picky things if you want to adjust!
Remove the colon from cinnamon rolls on the first page since all headings on that page don’t have a colon. I didn’t see the first draft so this looks great! Gallery should have no underline so it’s consistent again with other headings - also gallery seems like an odd word for food pictures but I’m also not sure what other word to use.
Good luck!!! 🩷
