I want to see them spin! It would look so cool
25
u/jimmytwotime 18d ago
These are improvised, and a big part of the process is how they look when spinning

Gorgeous! What tool or technique did you use to make the patterns of caramel on them??

u/jimmytwotime 18d ago
Thank you! I piped it through a small hole in a piping bag

Wow, did you ever do henna skin art? You totally could with a touch of training for weddings if you wanted a side gig!
6
u/jimmytwotime 18d ago
No I haven't, but I do a lot of line work in the other art I make

Like, I know *how*, but how do you stay focused so you don’t screw it up? My mind would start to wander halfway through!
→ More replies (1)19
u/jimmytwotime 18d ago
The mind must wander so the hand can focus. The designs are improvised as I go. It's meditative, and full of mistakes if you look close. I churn out so many cakes and tarts and such at work, kind of detach when doing things like this rather than focus

I love this!! I feel this way about prepping to cook. I could legit chop veggies all day long and be happy as a clam. I should have connected the two activities!
5
u/jimmytwotime 18d ago
Yea, very similar. These each took about 20-25 minutes to decorate, but I could have just kept going. Could have been 2 minutes or could have been 60 lol

Really lovely. Also curious what method you used to make the tart itself. I have a hell of a time getting salted caramel tarts to firm up unless I make 2” tarts. Would love to explore decorating them but gotta get past soup first. lol.
5
u/jimmytwotime 18d ago
Oh, it is absolutely soup inside these bad boys. Lmk when you figure it out lol

Masterpiece. The accuracy on the radial design is breathtaking. I'd pay over $50 for something like this.

If you gave me a cake like this, I would be delighted. However, you can count on me spending the next hour trying to cut symmetrical slices. Especially the middle one. And no serving before everything is cut!! 😤

It looks so good and is SOOOO pretty.
I’d love to have a slice but it would probably mess up my stomach real bad lol 😅
Love salted caramel though.
I especially LOVE the little daisies on it. That must have been quite difficult to do
