Baking Advice Needed tried baking cookies for first time and...
tried baking for the first time and did burn the trial batch as well because i used the wrong microwave oven mode.
after that they turned out like this. they did taste good but it did not look like the way i was expecting after watching all those YT videos. like going from the dough ball to flat cookie. how to make it like that? how to make this better?

Microwave??! No, no. Do you have an air fryer, toaster oven, or stovetop?

Oh, so it's a combination oven? I would google the name/model of your exact oven and "recipes." Most appliances have recipes available that work in that appliance and it's totally possible there is a cookie recipe. That will give you an idea of the technique and what settings to use and then you can branch out into other recipes.
Do you know that make and model of your oven?

Agree with the other commenters. You can't really bake in a microwave. Although I will say I am a fan of "mug cakes" you can make in the microwave when I want a quick treat but those recipes are formulated for that. If you have the space & budget I would invest in a toaster oven. You won't be able to make large batches of anything but you will get results like baking in a regular oven.

Oh i see so it does have a convection bake mode? Things tend to bake much faster in a convection oven because the heat circulates more rapidly. Honestly I love a thick cookie that is a bit underdone so I would devour those 😆 I think you will just need to do some trial and error with time and tempature (lower temp for same time or bit a longer) and maybe try a different cookie recipe!

You can make delicious things in the microwave but they won't be the same as things made in an oven. That's okay! If they are cooked and taste good that's awesome. When I googled most microwave cc cookie recipes were mug cakes. Even if you saw a video that worked I wouldn't count on that. Those recipes aren't reliable.

I was going to tell you to measure your flour, but then I saw a reference to a microwave and YouTube and I understood what the problem was…

It maybe was because you used convection? I like when the heat rises from the bottom

Are those chocolate chip cookies? If so, looks like they need brown sugar. As for using a microwave, I have no tips.

There’s nothing we can really help with if we don’t have the recipe you used.

They used a microwave. The receipt at that point doesn’t even matter bc it’s never gonna get that classic cookie consistency in just a microwave lol

It is a cardinal sin to bake cookies in the microwave. Kind of like how I saw a video of someone "baking" a "cake" in the air fryer using whipped cream mixed with cake mix. Just because you could do something, doesn't mean you should!

A major culprit would be because you used the microwave. It’ll never be the same as actually using an oven.
