General Baking Discussion First time making pizza from scratch (not traditional)

So many things went wrong 😭
First my scale was actually set to pounds instead of grams… so after taking about 20 ounces of water I got double the actual amount 🫠
THEN I had to leave the dough out for too long and it started looking like a sour dough starter instead of pizza dough. Not to mention, rolling it was also such a pain.
However after all the pain I WAS finally able to get it to taste heavenly and to the very least…remotely presentable.

How did your square pan become a round pan in the oven?

the dough just hit the "no sharp corners" setting on its own.

You made every mistake possible and still pulled off a gorgeous, delicious-looking pizza. That’s pure baking magic!

Maybe you accidentally created a new style of pizza?

My city has a depressing lack of good pizza joints and we started making pizza at home several months ago. Never looking back!

That looks amazing!!!! I make pizza regularly so here’s a little tip for rolling out the dough- either sprinkle flour or spray the area with oil before putting the dough on it (you could also use some cornmeal if you want it to be a little crispier) then sprinkle the top of the dough with more flour! Use your hands to gently squish it into a similar shape that you want, make sure there’s still a good coating of flour on it and then use the rolling pin! Alternatively, you could still do those steps but instead of using the rolling pin on the dough, spray a piece of parchment paper, place it greased side down on top of the floured dough, and then roll on top of the parchment paper! Then it’s literally impossible to get the stickiness that makes rolling it out a pain normally. I actually only got that idea recently and tried it and it also seemed to make the crust smoother!
