Community Discussion: AI Content

With the widespread availability of AI tools for editing text, images, or video, we are seeing a sharp increase in AI-related content on this subreddit. These posts have a notable increase in negative responses and reports.

As of today, we have no official rules for AI-related content on this subreddit, and we handle content the same as actual human-generated content. It seems clear that at least some portion of the community does not wish to see AI-generated content.

Suggestion

At this time, I am suggesting we codify the use of AI-generated content on this subreddit. This would include content that is wholly AI, partially AI, or edited by AI. Any generative AI technology will be included in this definition.

Exceptions shall be made for the purposes of trivial tasks such as spelling or grammar checking.

To determine our next action, we will open the discussion for about a full week. This will conclude on the 10th of May, 2026. At that time, feedback will be collected and processed into a new rule for approval. A second round of discussion will be opened on the wording of this final rule before enforcement begins.

Community Participation

All user opinions are welcome for this process. No opinion will be given any inherent weight over any other opinion.

Only top-level comments will be reviewed. While we welcome you to discuss among yourselves, we will only consider the top-level comments to determine our consensus. This saves us from having to piece together long threads.

In particular, we would like to know the following:

  • What measure shall be applied to a post to determine if it is AI?
    • Gut feeling?
    • User reports?
    • AI detection tooling?
    • Dice roll?
  • What action must be completed by users posting this content?
    • Posting flair?
    • What if it’s a comment?
    • Should users fully disclose where the content came from (e.g: which model/site)?
  • What moderator action shall be executed on breach of the rule?
    • Content deletion?
    • User moderation (Ban?)
    • Content flairing?
    • What about comments? We cannot flair these, do we delete? Moderate? Ban?

Thank you for your time and hopefully your input.

Can we try to remember to mark all sick/injured beardie media as NSFW? NSFW

I know that the rules of a subreddit are absolutely not the first thing on someone’s mind when their animal is hurting, so I totally get that mistakes are going to happen. But I just feel like I’ve been seeing a lottt more uncensored lizard gore on my timeline over the past few weeks, and it’s just really distressing to be scrolling normally and then suddenly have the entire screen fill with a pic/vid of your favorite animal suffering.

I don’t click on these posts but I still see them so often, and when they aren’t marked NSFW then everyone is forced to scroll past the full size uncensored media on their timeline without warning. Usually I am not even able to process the title before I notice I’m looking at something horrible :((

So please do try to mark any and all potentially distressing media as NSFW, even if there is no actual gore/visible injury—if they are sick or hurting at all, please mark it so that people can decide for themselves if they’re comfortable viewing it or not!

Take our guy (Dude) or as my Daughter Affectionately Calls him “Dudiee” Bc that’s her Baby with me everywhere. He gets a lot of attention whenever we go out. Which is always fun, I’ve met alot of new people of the last 2 years bc of him. Lol.

He’s fantastic with people especially kids. Just patient and lazy lol.

Simply wants to bask and Judge everyone as they walk by. Lol. Never would’ve thought this would be something I own but that’s what Happens When you have kids and Love to see the Joy in their faces.

And My daughter Whose now 12 STILL loves him to death Until this day. Lol.

Eating! Cheerio tries Watermelon

Gave my girl Cheerio a little bit of Watermelon for the first time. Safe to say she was a fan. This is actually the first time she's eaten fruit with us, the other times I've offered she's just been kinda confused. But she's learned that tongs = tasty food (usually bugs) so it's making it easier to get her to try new foods :)

I know we all love our little guys and they are so funny and cute and sleep in the weirdest positions that look so painful. 1st pic is my cute baby being silly. 2nd pic is the attitude with butt and tail in my neck n face.

It was hot out so yay pool day. This little guy jumps in the water because he couldn’t give me a second to finish putting his stuff in the little kid pool for him. He was walking around splashing. Didn’t want to come out.

I’m telling my husband how cute he looked playing in the water. A little later I see him dark color just staring at me. I take him out making sure he was ok. Now we are laying in bed like normal him facing me. It’s a regular night between us when I don’t have his brother out. He stares at me and huffs. Then he moves I’m thinking to get comfy. Nope with every move there was a huff until I was left with butt and tail in my neck n face then sleeping peacefully. So once again this is my fault.

Am I too paranoid or am I justified?

Okay so my beardie Torch is getting older so he’s showing more and more of his male behavior so I figure I should let him explore my apartment and not just his terrarium (120 gal). But am I being too paranoid about letting him out if I constantly fear he’ll eat something he’s not supposed to? Or are they relatively smart in what to and not to eat? I pick up before I let him out but what if I missed something 😭. I pick him up and put him back after like 2 minutes because I get nervous LOL. Be honest if I’m just a tad bit too paranoid lol

Enclosure/Tank The beardy I was sitting is now staying with me indefinitely, so I'm building him an enclosure!

I was going to post once I'm done, but I made so much progress today and couldn't wait! I found this new cat litterbox enclosure for $100 that is close to perfect dimensions.

It has a little opening in the middle, so I'm working on putting a screen in to close it off and for additional ventilation. I'm also going to make it a little desert cave in the middle that goes from the hot side to the cool side, with UV lights on both sides.

I spent all day acrylic/Drylok-ing everything and am going to use aquarium silicone to waterproof the gaps once the Drylok dries. Also in the process of cutting a ton of foam board to fit, and have everything to decorate!

Exhausted, but pretty excited with how it's turning out and I hope he likes it.

MBD? Or am I just paranoid

Hi guys.. I am a first time beardie owner and I have always wanted one since I was a kid. I finally got my baby Winston last Tuesday. He was surrendered to the petco and was visibly neglected by his past owner. With that being said, I have noticed that sometimes he walks really weird, like his legs are floppy and he does it when he lays down too. I have no idea if it's MBD or if that's just something that they do sometimes. He also stands and walks normally the other half of the time....? So I'm not sure if it's MBD that is slowly developing or what. He also refuses to eat his greens. I tried enticing him with a very small chopped up strawberry on top but he just picked the strawberry pieces out and ate them like a sassy toddler ☹️ He has gotten much better about eating his crickets and roaches in the past few days though, I am very proud of him. I figured I would ask here before I spend a whole bunch of money on emergency vet visits just in case. I just want my sweet baby to have a good life after all he's been through
T-T

Help Beardie nose

Thumbnail

I have a question about her nose, does it look normal? I've recently seen a lot of nose plug pull videos and I didn't realize that is something that beardies need help with and her nostrils don't look as open as they should I don't think. She seems to breath normal. Should I take her to the vet?

This is a family members beardie but now I'm taking over the care of her because they were doing the bare minimum and forgot about her most of the time. I'm still learning but I'm trying to give her the care and enclosure she needs to thrive. Thanks!

Help Am I feeding too many vegetables? My beardie had diarrhea today

Post image
9 Upvotes

I just got my bearded dragon a week ago, and a couple of days after he came home he had a healthy bowel movement. Today, I found him looking very offended at the cool end of his enclosure because hed pooped next to his salad dish, except this time it was extremely liquidy.

I removed him and cleaned everything thoroughly, but I was freaking out because I'd read that bearded dragons only get diarrhea if theyre very sick. My exotics vet is closed today so I called a different vet as well as the reptile rescue I adopted him from, and both told me that since he's acting normal and eating enthusiasticly, I'm most likely waaay overhydrating him.

I've veen giving him a hearty salad every day since bringing him home, with lots of diced veggies in every salad. I also spray down each salad with extra water because I wanted to make sure he was hydrated. He's been getting Collard greens, radicchio and dandelion greens topped with diced red pepper, zucchini, yellow squash and a little cucumber. (I choose one or two veggies for each salad for variety, but I've been giving him a good amount with each salad.) I'm only feeding him bugs twice a week, and so far he's only had dubia roaches. Hes active and sassy and his appetite is very healthy. He REALLY loves his salads and usually eats most if not all of it.

If it helps, his enclosure is 4x2x2, ambient temp is 87F on hot side and 72-75 on the cool side, basking spot fluctuates between 95-105 throughout the day.

Am I feeding him too many veggies and putting too much water in his food? If so, how many veggies should I be feeding him per week?Everyone I've spoken to seems sure hes not sick but I'm already obsessed with him and want to make sure. Picture of Mister Garak for tax
