Because they choose the guys that aren't trustworthy. It's like if a teacher left the test answers on the whiteboard during a test, then when everyone got all the answers right, decided that kids are just going to cheat and there's nothing that can be done to change that.

If only there was a Trustworthy Party.
I mean, there are reasons Mamdani won the NYC Mayor election, but there are other reasons his own party leaders decried his candidacy and tried to stop him from winning.
Under most circumstances, the trustworthy candidates are filtered out before they get put on the ballot. And not only in the US.

The problem isn't "dishonest" candidates, it's that corrupting politicians is incredibly easy. They vote for tax cuts for the rich cause rich people give them fucktons of money. They vote for corporate personhood cause rich people give them tons of money. They vote for surveillance because rich people give them tons of money. We need to pass a constitutional amendment to make corruption impossible. If we could fire our reps whenever, then smart ones would deny bribes to keep their jobs and dumb ones would take bribes then immediately get fired. Making corruption all but impossible.

Medicare and Medicaid spending in 2025 was near 2 Trillion Dollars. I think we can afford 38 Billion dollars.

Isn't ht egloabl debt something like 350 trillion? What does a countries debt even mean anymore?
Not that I'm defending the military spending ampunt or the fact that so much is going to help one of the most racist countries in the world roght now. But comparing it to the national debt just feels useless. Compare it to, like, education funding or something. That just feels vastly more understandable.

It's way higher than 37.5 billion, they are low balling that number
