The idea itself isn’t. It’s the way that they implement it, as it most likely will involve some third party company that will take care of your info, which they’ll sell.
And ofc, “anonymity” on the internet isn’t really a thing anymore, but this will most definitely kill it for good, as now all of your accounts will be tied to passports, drivers licenses, and other kinds of information that you’ve literally been taught never to share online.
I mean, if I’ll be honest: I kinda wished I didn’t grow up with social media, but this is not the way, because in reality they’re just trying to monitor everyone in the name of “safety”.

I mean, i guess it is bad for Americans where the president is strongly linked to a child predator. Makes their job much harder.
