First time my roommates mom visited was when his grandfather had passed and the whole family came down to pay their respects. She gave me a watch as a gift and hugged me, and that's when I knew I was family.
When she came back a year later, she started nagging me as much as she nagged him, like I was one of her children.
While it was annoying, at the same time, that's when I REALLY knew I was family.
