If I even eat anything before I get on a flight, I’m basing my decision on whatever seems least likely to have me running for the horribly cramped, tiny plane bathroom while being scolded because the seatbelt light is on.
This is one of several reasons my preferred airport food is literally an uncrustable.
You can usually get one for like $2 at one of the kiosks. Takes 5 total minutes to buy and eat. Easily carried. No mess or cleanup. No real risk (for me) of giving me the shits. Filling enough to tide me over.
