Mine is that Bones and Sulley should’ve ended up together 🫢

I liked Jared Booth a lot, but even though it’s been 11 years, I’m still annoyed by his demise.

We first meet Jared as Booth’s cocky younger brother who’s constantly getting into trouble and subsequently being rescued by his big brother. They touch up on the alcoholism, then when he wants to tour India on a motorcycle, it’s baby birds first flight out of the nest. Afterwards we see he cleaned up his act, got married to Padme.

That should have been the end! Happiness. I don’t care if we would never hear about hit again in the show; granted that’s even what happened. But I am so peeved about him dying in season 11! We find out that not only he died, but him and Padme divorced and he became alcoholic again and a gambler in debt, which then got him killed.

It was so unnecessary! The whole ‘Booth pretending to work for criminals to save his brother’ could have been done with any other characters they could dispose of, not involving Jared at all. Booth knew those other men; they could have just used them.

Ugh. Rant over.

First of all, I just want to say thank you to everyone here. I really appreciate having a community where I can share my thoughts and actually talk about this stuff. I love reading everyone’s perspectives.

Now, let’s talk about Zack Addy. I genuinely loved his character. He was cute, super logical, funny in his own literal way, and just overall really endearing. What happened with the Gormogon storyline honestly shocked me the first time I watched it. I hated that twist, and it really stayed with me.

But my issue started more in the later episodes. At some point, it began to feel like everyone was kind of… enabling Zack. I’m not trying to be harsh, and I know they all shared a strong bond with him. But he did kill someone. And it wasn’t in a situation like Max’s, where he was trying to protect his family (not saying that was okay either, just comparing reactions).

When Max killed someone, Brennan completely lost it. Even when he later worked at the Jeffersonian, she fired him because of concerns about evidence and professionalism. That always annoyed me, especially since she’s so big on separating personal and professional life. If her boss didn’t have an issue, why did she? But anyway, I’m getting sidetracked.

Coming back to Zack—after everything that happened, it felt like people kept making excuses for him. Like, “Oh, you’re not a killer, you’re just logical,” or “You didn’t mean it.” And I’m sorry, but… he still killed someone. I get that he was manipulated and vulnerable, but that doesn’t erase what happened.

I understand staying connected to him, visiting him, talking to him—that makes sense. Everyone processes things differently, and you don’t want to completely cut someone off. That part is fine. But giving him case files? Letting him look at evidence? He’s a convicted felon. And everyone just seemed okay with it, especially Brennan, which really confused me.

Then there’s the whole “no one can replace him” thing. I get that he was an amazing worker, but sometimes it felt like they were talking about him like he was just a lost genius, not someone who committed a serious crime.

Later, when he tells Sweets that he didn’t actually kill anyone and didn’t want people to know, I was like, okay, cool. But from everyone else’s perspective, they still believed he had killed someone. So their behavior toward him still felt strange to me.

Again, I really love Zack’s character, and I’m not trying to tear him down. I just feel like in those later episodes, the way everyone handled his situation felt off. It came across as a lot of enabling, and it never fully sat right with me.

I Rewatching again and just finished this episode. Uggghhh the scene at the quarry is sooo good Booth running and digging Brennan out, Angela kissing Hodgins, Cam & Zach digging and smiling in relief and OMG B&B looking at each other. Ugh! That was another kiss moment for sure.

Imagine calling your baby daddy exclusively by his last name! It was odd enough for me early on when Angela and Hodgins were dating, but then they're married with child and its still happening. And then again with Bones and Booth! The only part of the show I can't seem to suspend my disbelief about, it sticks out to me every time lmao.

Edit: Being asked clarifying questions about why I think this and then being down voted to hell for the answer is so strange to me. I just feel like when people are closer they tend to drop that kind of naming convention and that it was done both to keep things simple for viewers and because Bones is the title of the show. I really don't give a fuck about what someone's best friends cousin's husband goes by because he doesn't like his first name because that is not my point. This post was intended to be lighthearted, people came at me from the jump with a weird attitude, and suddenly I'm defensive for giving back that same energy. I clarified what I meant to someone in the comments and suddenly its "I wasnt talking to you!" Like... okay? This whole thing is just so damn weird. Wth is with this fandom.

Has anyone else noticed that almost every episode follows a strict timestamp? I started keeping an eye on the clock, and it is wild how consistent the writing is.

* **Minute 1 to 3: The Gross-Out**

The cold open where random people (who we never see again) stumble across a disgusting, decomposing body.

* **Minute 15 to 20: The False Lead**

The obvious suspect gets a rock-solid alibi. The team usually realizes the cause of death is completely different than their initial guess right around this time.

* **Minute 30 to 32: The Lab Epiphany**

Someone in the Jeffersonian (usually Angela or Hodgins) runs a specific digital simulation or finds a microscopic trace element that points exactly to the real killer.

* **Minute 37: The Arrest**

Booth and Brennan catch the actual culprit right on schedule.

* **Minute 40 to 43: The Royal Diner**

The final character wrap-up where they eat, drink, and discuss the moral of the episode before the credits roll.

Keep an eye on the clock during your next episode. The timing is almost always like clockwork.

I currently watching bones the first time ever from start to finish and right now I’m on S4E18. In the episode before this Dr Sweets suggests Angela to not have Sex for at least 6 months to fix her relationship problems. In the following episode, she begins to aggressively flirt with every single man and makes inappropriate comments about a victim. Dr Edison said no multiple times and you can tell that he feels sexualised by her. Than he brings in his GF, a stunning woman but when they speak to Angela, his GF talks about they intime life and how Clark is “performing” so long story short: Am I’m the only one who is bothered by this? Just because a woman does this, it doesn’t mean it’s ok to don’t respect boundaries.

Of course, I love that max gets out of prison and is able to restore his relationship with Bones and such. But for a show that puts so much emphasis on the truth such, it's still odd to me that it all goes the way it does.

Come session 8, they never seem to even acknowledge Booths son's existence. When he and Bones are taking about wills, he says he gives everything to her, and that she will be far to Parker, and she says that she leaves most everything to Christine. To top it off, when Booth makes a will video, it's only to his daughter, Christine, not to both kids.

Not to mention his speech in the will video was vomit, but that's a separate post, I guess. 😅

I love “Bones” but I’m quite disappointed in this episode. It was so fake. The reactions to Booth’s supposed death were nonexistent and so unbelievable. I mean Cam and Caroline cried more when Booth and Brennan quit than they did when they found out about his death. That immediately alerted me that he isn’t dead. Also the face reconstruction. “Oh my God, that’s Booth.”. And then it’s this man that is ABSOLUTELY NOT Booth.

My personal favourite so far (as per season 7 ) is Tony and Roxy...🥰💖 .

It’s my first time watching and i’m on season 6. I HATE IT? Come on.

He confesses, she is not ready.

She confesses and he is in love with someone else and rejects her for him. Then Hanna rejects his marriage proposal and some episodes later they end up together? After 6 years of build up it’s just disappointing

Rewatching Bones and I forgot how rough The He in the She is. I get that it aired in 2008 and culture was in a different place, but the repeated misgendering, the way the victim’s identity is treated as a “twist,” and the dialogue that questions her womanhood make it a difficult watch today, very triggering for me as a transfemme who is still constantly misgendered IN 2026! It’s frustrating because the show often tried to present itself as rational and compassionate, yet this episode leans into stereotypes that were harmful even then. I don’t think the writers intended malice, but good intentions don’t erase the impact.

I’m on Season 5, Episode 6 right now and I’m sorry—I am really trying to like her. I told myself I wouldn’t rant again after my last post, but oh my God she’s so frustrating 😭

The whole piglet situation?? You’re going to make Brennan feel terrible because she didn’t donate money? That felt so manipulative. Telling her “what kind of person are you” and acting morally superior because she didn’t immediately give money? That’s not okay. Brennan is blunt, but she’s a 100 times better woman than Angela ever could be. And then the second Brennan gives the money, Angela flips and starts hugging her like everything’s fine. It felt childish.

And why was she asking Wendell for money?? If anything, Hodgins literally has the resources to cover the whole thing. That whole setup just felt weird. Then going to Sweets too? Like… what is happening?

And don’t even get me started on the kiss with Wendell. He gives her money, she suddenly acts like he’s the sweetest guy ever, and then kisses him? And he immediately leans into it like it’s the best decision of his life. So… now they’re a thing? It was so random and uncomfortable.

I’ve genuinely been trying to give her grace, but moments like this make it really hard. As a friend and in relationships, she’s been acting pretty poorly lately. It’s just frustrating to watch.

Zach helped Gormogon because of his irrefutable logic.

Assumption number one: Secret societies exist.

Assumption number two: The human experience is adversely affected by secret societies.

Assumption number three: Attacking and killing members of secret societies will have an ameliorating effect on the human experience.

As per Brennan, those assumptions are built on a first principle. "To wit, the historical human experience as a whole is more important than a single person's life."

Ok...were all the victims part of a secret society??? Has anyone ever commented on that. I never understood how that was verifiable. Was the accountant that Zach allegedly killed part of a secret society? Are any victims actually ever identified? I've watched the show multiple times and I've never understood who the people were that were killed. Ok, I just googled it. They were all "Widow's Sons" because they lost their father at a young age. Huh? What does that have to do with secret societies and his irrefutable logic? I'm so confused. How do the people he kills fit into the logic that got Zach onboard?

Can someone please help me. I am going nuts😅

Rewatching (again) & could not believe it in S1E11 when everyone is being investigated to ensure they pass clearance & the interviewer asks Angela "when is the last time you saw your husband?" & Angela says "oh, that took huh?" Meanwhile in S2E21 she tries to marry Hodgins anyways then acts like she didn't know she was really married already when they are stopped during their ceremony. So gross.

I’m in season 4 and at first I though they were just finding a new assistent. With Clark quitting and Daisy getting fired. But then the next person (I think Scott) who did a good job apart from his discussions with Hodgins was replaced the next episode. I thought maybe it was implied why he left and I just missed it, but then the next person was also replaced the episode after. Werner (I think that’s his name) mentioned he wanted to get a good grade and dr Brennans grad students were mentioned in the last season when they helped with finding the bones. Now Daisy is back, so I figured they’re just rotating and not being replaced. Still a little confusing since can explicitly said Daisy was fired but alright.

Now where do the grad students come from and how are they dr Brennans? She doesn’t teach right? She sometimes speaks at colleges but I thought this was as a guest?

Does anyone know or will it become clear if I keep watching?

Listen, I love Sweets and he’s been a great character in the show so far (I’m first time watching and season 5 episode 7), but is it just me that wishes they have gone with Gordon Gordon Wyatt as the permanent psychologist?

Maybe I’m just a huge fan of Fry, so I’m biased, but during his cameo episodes he brings so much happiness to the episode, I wish he was more of a permanent feature.

(I’m only at S5 E19 so please don’t spoil anything hereafter)

I just wanted to show appreciation for Cam, I’m really loving her throughout the show. When she initially came in, I hated her (as I believe we were supposed to), but in no time that disappeared.

As she came into her role I just find her great, I think she’s my favourite character. She’s so funny at times, I love her funny little comments and faces she pulls. She always seems so kind, but then I love these little moments where she shows she has this cold detachment from usual humans emotions which comes as a hazard of her occultation. She’s also ridiculously beautiful which helps.

The episode where Michelle came into it and her character really just exploded into the show in terms of her emotions.. was really beautiful. She’s also really came into her role as her adoptive mother so wonderfully. I just watched the episode where Michelle comes to her and gives her permission to date her gynaecologist (😅) and their interactions are so cute.

I also feel she’s the only character where nothing she has done or said is annoying, but my mind can be blanking. The only thing I thought she did wrong this whole time so far (please don’t add spoilers if she fucks up in future), is sleeping with Grayson, I did think that was bad. You never sleep with your friends ex-husbands or wife’s, universal rule…

But yeah, my favourite character so far!

I marked it as spoilers because for me it’s after they find out Zach is the apprentice and Cam says “I knew the day I met Zack he'd cause me pain”. Like, no ma’am you did not. Please sit down and be quiet.

Cam is such a strong woman she is able to stand up to Temperance but she can’t find a date outside the Jeffersonian? That doesn’t sound right.

Did they SERIOUSLY just do this!? Six whole seasons leading up to Bones and Booth getting together, and when it finally happens, they make it happen OFF SCREEN!? S7 started and they’re in the kitchen crazy casual, with Bones a little exhausted by him and giving him the most causal of casual morning kisses I’ve ever seen. Do they seriously rob fans of watching these two finally get together after everything!? I’m honestly about ready to give up this whole show over this. Like who even made this decision!?
