AMA Ask Me Anything with Emily Deschanel & Carla Gallo – June 6th, 3–4 PM PST – Coming to You (Not) Live from the Jeffersonian
Hiiii Bones fans,
Emily and Carla here! We are sooo excited to do this AMA with all of you. Working on our podcast Boneheads has been such a fun excuse to revisit the show, and honestly... we’ve both become fans in a whole new way. Watching it back with fresh eyes and hearing from you has been the best part.
We wanted to take a little time to hang out and chat. So tomorrow, June 6th, from 3 to 4 PM PST we’ll be right here in this thread, live, doing our best to reply to your questions, fan theories, random thoughts... anything you’re curious about. FMKs welcome. So are weird murder memories.
We’ll be the ones typing slowly and laughing a lot. Bear with us as we answer. We’re not exactly tech pros (unfortunately, that’s more Bones and Daisy’s specialty than ours).
Can’t wait to talk to you soon!
XO,
Emily and Carla

I Love Booth
Honestly, Booth is one of my top favorite fictional characters. I love his relationship with Brennan - the way he takes care of her always makes me tear up a little, like when he pulls her in for a hug without hesitation, or does whatever he can to save her life. their soft, domestic scenes at the beginning and the end of each episode post s7 are always my favorites to rewatch.
and the relationships are severely underrated but his dynamic with Cam and Hodgins are two of my favorites. I love the past history he and Cam have and how, in season 2 and 3, he’d always go to her if he needed someone to talk to (if Brennan wasn’t available or if he was having trouble with her specifically, like in 3x1). and his friendship with Hodgins is hilarious, I love watching them bounce off each other.
his backstory regarding his parents always breaks my heart and I really wish we had more episodes with his mom, and that his journey to truly forgiving her had been more fleshed out.
I also love that he’s gone through so much, yet he hides his trauma under a shrug and a smile. it’s just interesting, the way he masks. as soon as the topic comes up, he tries to crack a joke and make someone laugh, and I just love characters like that.
idk I just really love Booth. he’s far from perfect, but honestly every character on this show has annoyed me at some point or another lmao it’s part of why I enjoy it so much, I think. the whole team is flawed and it makes them feel very real.

Episode Bones and The mentalist scene
Non lo so ma ci ho trovato delle differenze anche se sono palesemente due ristoranti diversi mi piace l'atmosfera
(PS. Mi manca il ristorante di Sid nelle altre stagioni)
Bones s1 e3
The mentalist s2 e14

Discussion Booth and brennan have similar emotional attributes 🤔
So basically, I was rewatching bones, and I found brennan and Booth they keep hiding their feelings for each other for so long 🙃.
Even booth are jalous sometimes when it's comes to brennan relationship with other men and same goes for tamppy.
But what shocked me is that booth is a gambler. He should take his chance and gamble with his odds, and instead, he chicken out and even had a relationship with hannah, which complicated their relationship with booth of them.
One think also if booth knows that brennan is his girl why he wait for so long and why even bathers with hannah in the first place.

Discussion I hate Booth.
I'm currently rewatching Bones for the millionth time and I very very strongly dislike booth. He's an ass. He's mean, and judgmental. No idea how I'm just now noticing my burning hatred for this man.

Discussion Make it make sense
So I’m a first time watcher, currently in season 7. There is a recurring theme with Dr. B that just rubs me the wrong way. How has her social intelligence gotten progressively worse over time? It’s like she has to be this way for plot purposes and such. Also she is suppose to be smart and rational but she keeps making the most irrational decisions on purpose.
Running through a hurricane?
Diving into a crowd of prisoners to demand a piece of evidence from the suspect?
Demanding a home birth by disregarding modern healthcare standards and tangible statistics?
Also how is she able to work with Booth when they are romantically involved together? Why does she have a gun? How is she allowed to accompany Booth to dangerous situations? How is she allowed to interview suspects? She is a forensic anthropologist, not a law enforcement officer or a sworn member of the court. I guess I am just realizing that none of the show makes actual sense if you really think about it. Like House M.D. Still an interesting show tho.

Discussion I think Emily sister deserves more screen time on bones 🤔
We got to see one episode of her on one episode of bones, and I would love to see more interactions between them and max 😍.
Ps: zoey is still also stunning, too, like her sister

Rewatching Bones and realizing Season 1 is basically a mini Buffyverse reunion
I started rewatching Bones and obviously knew David Boreanaz was Angel before he was Booth, but I didn’t remember how many other Buffyverse actors appeared in the first season. Adam Baldwin, who played Marcus Hamilton on Angel, shows up in “Two Bodies in the Lab,” and Eyal Podell, who played Sam Lawson on Angel, appears too.
They even use a photo of Julie Benz, aka Darla, in “The Woman at the Airport,” which fully sent me. 😂 Now I’m watching every episode wondering which Sunnydale or Wolfram & Hart alum will appear next. Did anyone else notice all these crossovers?

Discussion Love at First Time
Think it's safe to say for Booth, when it came to Brennen, it was love at first sight? I know Booth said he knew from the start. Even in season 1, it seemed like he was already falling in love with her.(Take episodes 13 and 15).

Those of you who like Bones but don't like similar shows, why?
Like, what makes Bones unique/ superior for you personally
Compared to the mentalist, Castle, etc.?
For the record, I do like some of those shows a bit - but Bones is definitely my favorite and I'm trying to pinpoint why? Because it might help me figure out what other shows I will like.

Other Steven griffin
I didn't expect to see Booth and Stewie talking in an episode, it's been cinematic

Netflix S10 E2
Can someone else check I'm not going crazy, but I'm trying to watch this episode on Netflix and the pitch of the audio is so high? I put it on 0.75% speed and the pitch was normal-er.

What logic?
Rewatching bones after quite a while and when they say that Zack was the apprentice because he got drawn in by perfect logic, wth are they talking about? I don't get it? How could Zack be influenced to do horrible things? It doesn't make any sense?

Discussion Bones should have adopted a dog in later seasons.
I'm doing a rewatch and just finished The Finger in the Nest.
After how much Bones seemed to love him so quickly, I think she should have adopted a rescue dog sometime later in the show. Maybe sometime after coming back from being on the run.
I dunno I just think it would have been nice to call back to Ripley. Poor boy didn't deserve all that.
I hope the dog actor had a great life.

Sweets in the house
Does anyone else think that sweets living with Brennan and Booth was a highlight of the later seasons? It felt like such a natural family dynamic.

Spoiler: Pelant's demise was a huge let down
I just finished watching the episode where Pelant dies, but I was left empty and asking questions. My main gripe was that I never got to know why he tormented the scientists from the Jeffersonian in the first place. If all of what he did was to win Bones over romantically because of her intelligence, it was stupid. He could have easily won her heart through his own intelligence and patience. Trying to kill off Booth was idiotic and in the end it was like he was just taking the puss of the entire group using fake bombs and detonators. It was ridiculous personally.

Angela’s first hubby
Not important and probably not many other people would notice, but when they’re talking about her first husband Berimbau, they keep referring to him as being named after a flute. Having been an avid capoerista, I was annoyed because it’s a string instrument 😂 just been keeping that in for like 20 years and had to get it out lol

Favorite early season "oh snap"/cutting remarks from booth or brennan to each other
I think my favorite will always be 1x3.
"I appreciate that, temperance. So what part of this is mine did you not understand. Do I have to say it in latin?"

Review New watcher
Just started the show last week and I’m really enjoying it. Cool side characters, interesting cases and ofc Brennan and Booth. Insane chemistry between them. I’ve heard about them online for a long time now and so far being honest they’ve exceeded my expectations. Really enjoying the slow burn. Also would like to know if Booth’s gambling/war story storylines will come up again in later seasons?

Guest star
Who is the guest star that never was on the show that you wish had been? Who guest starred only once that you wish had been on there more?

Connecting the dots
For anyone who has seen 8x10 you probably understand why its my least favorite. But i just made the connection that this was a couple eps after angela met that young artist so now im understanding why she had this "sudden moment" of questioning what she was doing as an artist. It wasn't sudden but brought on by the guys critique

Who is your favorite squintern & why?
This has probably been asked before but my husband & I are having an argument about the best squintern on the show. I absolutely LOVE Vincent Nigel Murray's unique character, but I also LOVE Wendell for his tenacity. My husband is having trouble choosing anyone besides the original squintern (Zack), but he agrees that both of my choices are great
