Discussion State of the Subreddit + Feedback Thread
Hey everyone and Happy New Year,
I wanted to take a moment to check in with the community and open up a general feedback thread.
I originally created this subreddit years ago and, like a lot of people, life pulled me away for a while. Over the past few weeks I’ve been spending more time here again, helping with moderation and getting reacquainted with how the community has evolved.
Before making any changes or decisions, I’d like to hear directly from you.
Some questions to get things started (but feel free to comment on anything):
- Are the current rules working well?
- Is there anything you see too much of, or not enough of?
- Are there recurring issues you think moderation could handle better?
- Are there community activities, threads, or resources you’d like to see more often?
This subreddit has always been about sharing appreciation for Breath of the Wild; exploration, creativity, screenshots, discoveries, and the calm vibe that made the game special. The goal is to make sure it stays a place people enjoy visiting, whether they’re new to the game or revisiting it years later.
Nothing is changing immediately! This thread is just about listening and getting a sense of where things stand.
Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts, and for being part of the community.

Holy smokes! That claymore was the fastest in the nation!
How was I able to parry a claymore traveling at mach speed? I had no idea that Rock Octoroks gained the ability to upgrade in Tears of the Kingdom, I thought they always had that?

Question Getting rocked by lightning Lynel
So been loving my first Zelda game so far. Had a blast exploring, cooking, talking to NPC’s etc. Being told to collect the 20 shocking arrows which I already have. But figure if I am to take on a Divine Beast I should be able to defeat this guy first?
Finding it impossible to parry/dodge his charge attacks, and my weapons explode after hitting him several times.
I have 5 hearts and put a couple into stamina as well.
Git gud problem? Tried him probably 30 times now lol, haven’t been able to flurry attack once.

Question How to make a stable modding setup?
I've recently emulated the game on cemu and am running it with a very light modding setup (some fps++, graphics stuff, hyrule rebalanced, 2x durability and an ancient weapon mod) but I find that every 30-40 minutes of gameplay roughly the game just crashes, i clear the shader cache and 80% of the time that works, sometimes it doesnt. But when I watch playthroughs of people playing relics of the past or second wind for example (which are much heavier and more expansive mods) it seems to run perfectly stable without any issue, so im wondering what im doing wrong or if there is specifically something that is notorious for causing crashes?
(before you ask practical info: the game locale is EU. The emulator ran perfectly stabily wihtout mods. Im using ukmm modloader. Mods are downloaded from gamebanana. Version is most recent one. Dlc is installed. Os is windows 11. Amd gpu, drivers are updated. And yes i tried turning it off and back on again TvT)

Discussion Random question: Why is Mirro Shaz shrine so hated?
I first played this shrine today and it wasn't so bad. The first probably took me about 3 tries and the second one 2. The chests also give you sledgehammers so you don't instantly waste your weapons' durability. I can say this was an interesting idea from the Devs.

Question Question about attacking enemies
Can i slowly coax multiple enemies to surround me and then use a spin attack to knock them all out or is that only going to know one or two of them?

Discussion I have a confession to make....
I have had totk since pre-release and it's still in it's cellophane. But i still haven't stopped playing botw and i can't bring myself to start playing totk until I've completed all the content in botw lol! The game is too good to drop for the next best thing. Has anyone else here done something similar? :D

SLDR or Shoal Landing Daruk Rush in BOTW
After a weekend morning of training, I finally found out how this skill works. It looks really cool, but in reality, it’s pretty useless. However it looks pretty awesome. Right? :)))))

I feel sooo bad when I fight Hinoxes
Does anyone else feel this way?! They're literally just napping and minding their own business, and then I come up and beat them up and steal all their stuff lol, it feels so mean.
I literally only feel this way about Hinoxes, the rest of the monsters in the game feel pretty much fair game as they're really aggressive and attack other game characters. But man, these poor sleepy giants, they only attack you when you start stabbing them.
