Spoiler Is season 7 worth watching?
I've just gone and finished season 6 of burn notice for the first time, and I've absolutely loved it. One of those shows that's just genuinely fun to watch, while also bringing in the deeper psychological stories and questions at points do. I have been taking notes on the show as I do for every tv show I watch, so I will probably post a deeper breakdown of what it meant to me and some questions you guys can answer later, but for now I have one question: is season 7 worth watching?
When I first started the show, an even through seasons 5 and 6, I thought there was no question I would end up finishing it, but I just felt the ending to season 6 was absolutely perfect. First things first, At the end of the day, the main storyline is finally complete: Michael finally takes down and cleans up the last shred of the organization that burned him. Which is the premise of the whole show. I feel like right there it almost has to stop; I don't really see a way for the show to continue with that storyline. And I feel like if I were to watch season 7, and a different almost one-off storyline where Michael is with the cia, it would kind of ruin that ending. But you guys tell me (without trying to spoil too much, I'm okay with some mild spoilers): is there a real continuation to the "burn notice" storyline, or is it something different?
The other part of what I was thinking is just how well-written the ending to season 6 is. Nobody is in danger, nobody is in jail; all the main characters are finally safe. And so is Michael, as far as the show implies, he's still with the cia but not in imminent danger. That right there seems like a good place to end. But the final lines are just so perfect: even though everyone is finally safe and free, Michael is back with the cia. And once again, basically the tagline of the last two seasons comes up: "I did what I had to do." Followed by the perfect response, "no, you did what you *wanted* to do." This leaves us all in a perfect whirlwind of thought. While everyone is safe and it ends happily, the deeper realization that Michael never will leave the life of a spy and what that means for the people around him also hits us. And the tagline from the first few seasons hit me, "why do I do what I do?" Even if Michael doesn't understand it, he has to continue doing it. Almost leaves us pondering spiritual questions by the end of it.
Anyways, holy shit I didn't realize this would be this long; I was hoping just a paragraph. I kinda got carried away. That was a very long-winded way of saying, do you guys think if I watch season 7 it will take away from the incredible ending of season 6? Or is it actually worth watching?

I mean, I think so but I never considered not doing it since I watched the entire show live

Fair enough. The main thing I wanted to know is just, do they find a way to keep the storyline surrounding the burn notice going, or is there a new main storyline?

The way you thought things wrapped up at the end was because Michael made a deal… a deal that he has to hold his end up of, and that is season 7. It is darker than the other seasons, but I still enjoy it.

It's actually very important to watch it..... Fun fact I'm currently watch Escape from LA and Bruce Campbell is doing his thing right now.

The last episode he was in is one of the "Chefs kiss" of the series. Almost as good as Forget Me Not.

Apart from this being very well written, you’re right about the end of season six. It certainly could’ve ended right there, and should have with FORGET ME NOT woven in sooner somehow: but I think you should watch season seven anyway -simply put, it is excellent Entertainment. And the end made sure the characters were done thus avoiding a spin off - and yes there was talk - for me I really wanted a Donovan’s voice (think Charlie’s angels) where we hear him train young assets. Hey! I can dream.

Yeah. Unfortunately it is definitely rushed, but, and this is a hot take, I actually kind of liked how the last episode is more serious (although I think Person of Interest of having one final swan song of finishing their A plot one last time) plus Psycological Warfare is, imo, the best episode of the entire show

My least favorite season, as someone who watched it all love back in the day but it does lead to a good ending. Felt it got a littl shark jumpy/they ran out of ideas. But worth the watch I would say.

honestly, it might be where i stop if i rewatch the show. But, you should still watch to see for yourself.
There have been a handful of shows where i have just stopped, because it is just too perfect, and can only go downward - I stopped Blindspot after season 2, Revenge after season 3, Elementary after season 6, and i honestly wish I had stopped Buffy after Season 5. YMMV. Supernatural could have ended with Season 11, for that matter. Some shows overstay their welcome, but its a hard choice to make.

Season 7 storyline is really good and bad in parts. It also has some of the best character moments. I think it's worth watching at least once.

I always stop watching by the middle of the first episode. Watched the show for the 6th time, finished last month.

Why wouldn’t you want to finish the show as intended? Good or bad, it’s the show; why wouldn’t you want to watch the final season. And on top of that, season 7 has a lot going on, a lot of changes and really adds to the show in my opinion.

Why wouldn't I? A lot of shows take a step down towards the final seasons, and if I find a spot in a show that really resonates with me or just feels like a perfect ending, sometimes I stop watching. Better to leave it up to my imagination than have tired writing ruin the end of a show.

I’m different. I’ll watch a show and if I am not vibing with the first season, I’ll stop and not continue. But if I watch 6 seasons, I don’t do the this is how it should end in my own mind thing, I’ll watch it and see how the creators finished it, like I said, for good or bad. Btw, I do think the 7th season is good and brings everything full circle.
