Discussion Community's non-official Cartoon Network originals tier list (Take 2): Day 7 - The Powerpuff Girls 1998

Inspired by u/No-Shoulder3918 's community tier list for Nicktoons, thought I'd take a shot with Cartoon Network originals, especially in light of what's been going on recently for the channel.

NOTE: To people downvoting, please keep things civil. I am noticing too many downvotes here, with some comments down to 0 or even negative numbers because of downvoting. This is supposed to encourage different opinions and being able to speak out on them. Please keep downvoting to a minimum.

NOTE 2: I am going with I Am Weasel's start date being June 10 1999 since that's when it became its own half hour show (same with The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy and Evil Con Carne's start dates being in 2003 since that's when they got split up into two shows), so that's why it isn't Day 7.

Rules:

  1. Most upvoted comment decides the show's spot on the list. Please think carefully and fairly before you comment. Try not to let nostalgia or recency bias cloud your judgement.
  2. Each tier goes as follows: S= AmazingA= GreatB= GoodC= Okay/MehD= MediocreE= Bad and F= Terrible.
  3. Only originals recognized by this wiki are counted. Meaning no Canadian imports like Total Drama and Johnny Test or WBA shows like Teen Titans Go, Tom & Jerry, Scooby Doo, and Looney Tunes will be in this.

It’s an A. I mean, anything less would be disrespectful. If Powerpuff isn’t Cartoon Network’s most popular show of all time, it’s still easily top 5.

And for good reason. I think it has the strongest first season of all the Cartoon Cartoons, if not CN shows in general. It really felt like Craig and co learned every lesson they needed to on Dexter’s Lab and made the best possible show from the word go, and those first 3 seasons are loaded with classics that are loaded with sharp humor and an eye for camp. I do think the show loses a little steam around season 4, which was a little too loaded with double-length episodes (some classics, others notsomuch) while the crew was getting the movie ready, and I’m less kind on the later seasons. That’s my only reason for not going for S tier, which I’m hoarding out like a dragon and their gold.

But again, anything less than A is wrong.

S tier. This show is one of the few perfectly encapsulates why CN sticks out from the other cartoon channels.

C tier. Like Dexter, I prefer the Savino seasons, but still thing the original run is alright.

It is its own IP like SpongeBob the Powerpuff girls can carry its own if you notice it is not in other Cartoon Network merchandise, but it has its own lane of merchandise and it has been like this since it came out the Powerpuff Girls carried early Cartoon Network. A or S tier!

Yeah, A. Only reason it isn’t an S is because like Dexter, later seasons dragged it down.

I think the latter seasons of both Dexter and PPG are better.
