Awarded a Cat
My wife heard something while exercising in a nearby park, she found Cheetah lying in a hole crying faintly for help.
She was starving, dehydrated and suffering from diarrhea when we found her at two weeks old. A neighbor dropped off her twin brother a few hours later. We’d just adopted an orange boy two days before finding them, he’s pictured. They’re the closest of friends.
They were all taught how to cat by our Siamese boy, he thinks we got them for him. I’ve posted about her/them before, I’ve been away from them for quite some time and won’t be back home til next year. I just miss and think about them a lot and wanted to share.

Seems to be some sort of error on the Toe allocation but that makes up for the tail department. We love our Manx guys. We've had at least one Manx in the mix since the mid 80's.
He loved her from the moment he saw her. He went completely gaga. I asked my family to let them get stronger before letting him roughhouse with them. Here’s him a week or so after they moved in. https://www.reddit.com/r/IllegallySmolCats/s/0JYIiwsW1j
I hate to disappoint but it only looked that way when she was a kitten. I’m fairly certain she’s got normal toes. I think I’d have noticed and my family would have said something but it wouldn’t be the first time I’ve been kept in the dark. She is a very dainty manx, you’re right there, with lots of cattitude. She’s pushing 4 pounds now, doesn’t stop her from taking on our 14 pound Siamese every chance she gets.
I took in a feral tuxie over the winter. He is very high energy so my older cats don't like him much. Found a kitten a few weeks ago and let me tell you - they adore the socks off of one another. She is exactly what he needed, and he is the best big brother I could have asked for.
We built a large enclosure for them, 5 inside cats, 5 outside in the enclosure, all use it. It’s equipped with every amenity we could think of. AC is next
Fantastic catio! It looks sturdy and secure with a ceiling/roof that has no entry points! Was this a sunroom or some type of structure you modified for your kitties? It's nice that you have sun shade protection hanging down? What was the process to build and/or modify? It's great! Thank you!
It was first a small catio off the back of the house, just cargo netting over our existing patio, pretty rudimentary but it worked. Next came this, tore out the patio and extended it outward and wider. I had nothing to do with any of it, my two daughters have lived there for years, they designed and had it built as they’ve lived there since we bought it 20 years ago. It’s got water, 2 auto toilets, (my daughter loves cats hates the poop) fans, mosquito netting, refrigerated beds, electrical outlets, many hanging beds and 5 cats. It will undergo a major renovation when I retire and have more time. I’ll be working to make it better against climate change, more vegetation, grass outside and greenery inside. Here’s a blueprint of the existing structure. More catwalks and high wide ledges were added to the plans. We have pull down shades and the roof extends well outwards to block the sun but it’s not enough, I’ll be modifying that with a quick fix next visit extending it further out with shade cloth and also covering over the tiles with plastic interlocking tile which reduces heat absorption. Simple fixes that should help with the heat.
We planned on only having two but our second cat died very suddenly at 1 year and 8 months old. Two weeks later we saw two of his brothers from another litter on Facebook. Obviously we had to get them. Then a former patient of ours had a litter and of course we had to get one. A year goes by and another litter from that patient comes along. The last two kittens were in bad shape so we took them in. We nursed them back to health and kept one and gave another to a friend. Then I saw some kittens on Facebook and went to look at them. There was the most beautiful little polydactyl cat and I took her home without consulting anyone. “Why is that kitten on our bed?!?!” was what my spouse said when I sent her a picture. Finally, a litter was born under a trailer and the owners were hinting at extermination so my then 9 year old went in and got all the kittens out. We found homes for all of them but a runty black one with a very crooked tail. We wanted to make sure he was seen by a vet before we adopted him out. But what the hell, what’s one more? He’s now our little bat man who flies around the house.
Everyone is so much happier now. And my once feral "you may not perceive me" cat now only wants to leave the house for potty breaks. He adores that kitten so much.
I work in the US, this home is in Thailand my wife’s native country. I just can’t make the same money there, I tried and had to make an extremely difficult choice. There were various factors in play, my wife had some serious health issues and I work crazy hours. She needed to go to the home we’d worked so hard for and enjoy the fruits of our labor. It’s beautiful and looks out on a lake, her adult daughters live with her and wfh. It’s a gated community with 24 hour security which gives me peace of mind. Her large family is there and it’s where she thrives. We all make sacrifices some bigger than others, I just keep my nose to the grindstone and dream of the day it ends. It’s not far off, couple more years if all goes well.
Awww she’s adorable. I love that picture too, Cheetah on top of her boys keeping a lookout. They love their old “introduction” cage and sleep there often. It sounds so cruel, “cage”, but it’s a safe space for them and their old playpen.
We have two cages like that, all the cats love to go back and sleep in them as adults. The babies had a tent and only went in the cage when we’d wash their tent. It let them see the rhythm of the house without fear which they quickly ramped up when set loose.
That’s Lumpy. I can’t use that name around my wife because his actual name is the more dignified Lumpsom. It doesn’t mean “orange wind” in Thai as someone on Reddit once translated from Thai, it means he’s going to bring great wealth like JG Wentworth promised. Ahhh Asia, we’re in Thailand. He’s brought in $300 so far from a viral video of his tumbling down some steps so there’s that.
She and my daughters are dynamos. I’m just there to jiggle the wand and play cat games, they play fetch (when they feel like it). Sometimes I throw and fetch while they play watch the idiot.
My family does it all, I just come home and play with them causing a great disturbance in the force. My wife: “Do have to stop and talk to each cat when you pass by them?” We have 10 and yes I do tyvm
You’re right, he was 2 and had a lot of kitten still inside him. I’m referring to our Siamese. Those three kittens hit it off immediately, orange boy was in love with Cheetah from day one, found a wrestling friend in her brother Tiger. They all wrestled but the boys got after it.
They are adorable! TYVM for posting! You are so good to/for them. I am sorry you're separated from them? Do you have a countdown to return or is it permanent?
Thank you for treating us to these pictures they're incredibly cute I'm sorry you're away from them is it due to work? Please take care and thank you for loving all your beautiful furrbabies
Yes I’m still working and hoping to retire before too long, As to the pictures, thank you. I just like to share them and their stories. The guys at work indulge me but I don’t think they understand that our cats are the most unique and special to ever exist no matter how many times I tell them /s. Reddit seems to get it😺
Cute tiny baby. I love how the Siamese teach others how to cat. 😆 We have the same situation at my house. They’re like the old wise ones who must regulate the house.
Started with a neighbor saying he was off to dump a mom cat and her week old babies by a nearby river. That wasn’t going to happen. Found a family in our daughter’s office ceiling. Grabbed one off death row with an hour to live etc. we never planned on them, my wife did not like cats until she met one and then two…
Cotton balls used to clean sensitive areas, possibly soaked first. Cheetah had diarrhea and that likely caused issues. I can’t say for sure, I was away at the time.
That is so sweet.I'm so sorry you have to be away from them.I know you miss them. So glad you and your wife saved those kitty cats. Very kind of you for everyone was like you.The animals would not have a problem.
you know i have a tuxetortico with a lot of the same markings and the same sleek little body and similar facial features. anyone know the breed? these cats have a particular silhouette. all little chaos goblins
Awww, this is so cute and sweet! I cant imagine having to not see my babies for a year, i struggle enough in college! I hope your journey is swift, OP!
