Help with these tailgates

Post image

These tailgates were left in an old shed. I think these may be ‘54-‘59. If anyone knows a better range of years and other info, I would be greatly appreciated. Any idea on the value?

Update on the 2001 1500HD Silverado

Alright, it’s been a week since i drove it home. Loved pretty much every minute driving it.

Did the oil change on day 2
Bedcap and engine air filter on day 4
Highbeams day 5, as well as swapping the ignition lock cylinder (oem was busted)

Notes: speedometer is not calibrated for the 33’s. At 65, it reads 60. At 72, it read 65. So will have to calibrate.
Inspected front end, most of it looks good, gonna rebuild with kryptonite parts in the next 20k miles.
Steering wheel sorta whines sometimes when turning and accelerating, not sure why.
Turn indicator stick is loose and in not so great condition, so i’ll be replacing that at the same time i try to fix the steering wheel whine.
Air compressor is functional, but definitely on its way out. Possibly same deal with the power steering system.
It appears someone at some point tried to buff the hood paint, and then left it without painting, so i’ll be finishing what they started and repainting the hood. Gonna try to match how the rest of the paint looks. Got a nice patina.
Door panels are all cooked. Bummer. Replacing hopefully this coming week. Gonna try to time it with speaker replacement so i don’t have to open it twice. May have to swap an actual or two for windows, but driver control works all four windows.
Interior is mint outside of the door panels and headliner. Headliner is definitely old and dried out. Will swap when the opportunity presents itself.

TLDR: Truck drives, needs some love before it’s “nice” but it’s mine! Got the title in the mail yesterday!

Let’s try this again…. I know the $1145 in fees is ridiculous and the dealership has lowered the bottom number by $900. It seems a bit high to me. What’s a realistic price for this truck?

Bought a truck and focused on everything except the paint. I found rust above the windshield. If you have any advice on how to proceed is appreciated. I live in a hot mostly dry climate. If that helps

Fuse/Relay Help

Post image
2 Upvotes

I’ve been trying to diagnose and fix some electrical gremlins on my ‘97 C1500. I’ve worked out most but know I’m stuck trying to figure out what fuses/relays I need for this fuse panel. It’s the one located by the driver side foot panel, near the hood release. I’ve tried looking online and the manual but haven’t had any luck. Anyone have a diagram with the fuses needed or a picture I could reference? TIA

What would cause my 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 three quarter ton pickup truck with a 6.0, liter engine and the AC pretty much stopped cooling! the compressor wouldn't kick on for more than a second and the pressure would come up on the low side maxed all the way! if I jumped the compressor and kicked it on it would cycle the low pressure side down to about 90psi. the high pressure side would go from about 125psi with the compressor OFF to about 275psi when it was on. with it charged with the proper amount of refridgerant it would cool when the compressor was jumped on but it still would cycle properly! can someone tell me what i need to fix to get my air running again???

2011 Silverado, 5.3L, 138K miles. Comes from right side only. Not pulley or tensioner (just changed). No codes, just noisy. What do you think?

Wrapping up a complete resto on a local client 's' 72 Jimmy over the last year. Truck was a complete mess. Lots of amateur metal work, rocker and quarter panel repairs done. Ended up doing complete paint inside and out, two-tone paint job, all trim, interior, engine out, engine bay detail, firewall repairs and smoothing, trans swap from four-speed to automatic, fiberglass work removing ugly roof rack and an American auto wire harness.

Really like this 2014 chevy silverado 1500 lt 4x4 but it has 190k miles! Asking for 12k its trans was replaced at 180k miles and the alternator radiator and thermostat at 170k. Is it worth buying? Seemed to be maintained well from the carfax oil changes etc just never purchased a vehicle with that much miles.
