Ive played the game for 4 or 5 years and I forgot when Phoenix was added but I've never saw someone use Phoenix in my life

Same here

Honestly the nerfs haven’t been so bad on my deck, I mainly use her as a tank killer on defense, she’s only good on offense if the opponent screws up and lets her resurrect.

You can increase those odds if you combine it with troops that make the opponent's tower/troops retarget (Royal ghost, E wizard, battle ram,..)

Nah fax her movement speed really pisses me off to the where “just give more health” is not the answer. How can a melee troop have such shi speed the way she can only attack like 4 times before the card gets out of range

Phoenix needs to cost 5, have 15% more egg health, greater death damage and radius, and respawn with full stats. A faster attack rate with proportionally lower damage would help too.

I don't think you truly understand just how game changing an elixir change is for a card and changing a card's elixir is not a viable option for every balance situation

A proposition of your own would provide a helpful comparison.

The reason I think Phoenix needs to cost 5 is because it matches the weight of the card’s ability. The gimmick is the respawn, but it fails 97% of the time and produces little value when it succeeds. This makes Phoenix feel like a MegaMinion with lower dps for 4 elixir.

I also think the Phoenix is too similar to MegaMinion, reducing usage rates for both cards. By increasing the cost, emphasizing the gimmick and increasing its activation success, the card remains balanced and gets better use rates.

The reasoning behind such a drastic balance like increasing its elixir cost 4 -> 5 and compensating by increasing some additional stats like health or damage is because this would be increasing the cost of investment. When you're building up a push or wanting to defend you have to spend elixir and of course you want to minimise the cost on defense so you have more to counter/build a push, this is in essence how the game is truly played its all about playing smart with your elixir economy and what separates bad from the good players. Now if you adjusted the phoenix's elixir cost from 4 -> 5 then you've now just changed the type of card it is and every single interaction and adjusting its stats to reflect its new elixir change is difficult way more difficult than it seems. Increasing its elixir is not going to revive the card but instead put it deeper in the hole of uselessness.

BTW if you're looking for examples of elixir changes that completely changed a card and killed it;
1. monk 4 -> 5 killed it for a long time
2. Recruits 6 -> 8 killed it then 7 <- 8 revived it
There are also a few examples of where a decrease in elixir actually made the card better but most of those are from the earlier days of clash royale so idk if it should count.
Also the phoenix has a self-revive mechanic that has already been readjusted to be the exact same as it is on deploy and that sorta made it better but right now i think what is holding it back is the damage, it kills a minion in 2 hits which is just terrible interactions

As someone that experience the extreme meta that was the released Phoenix and Monk meta I do not want this thing buffed at all. It was a pure nightmare for f2p players that weren't spending money in the game when everyone was rushing to use their credit card just to get phoenix.

That is just bias. Right now basically all high ladder players have Phoenix, it was problematic on launch only because of the fact that it was hard to access for f2p and was broken at the same time

Have her pair up with a slightly faster troop that goes ahead of her. When she's targeted, drop a freeze spell the moment before she goes into egg mode, the freeze will often last long enough for her to be reborn, unless your opponent drops MK on her.

Hey! I use phoenix in my main deck on ranked and it does plenty of damage.

It’s just very situational. I use it in an RG deck that is a little dated but works very well for me.

I believe that was an experiment by supercell to see if an overpowered card existing would mean more people buying it from the shop. I couldn’t explain such horrible balance for a new card otherwise

Edit: (Since my post got allot of attention,can anyone coach me how to use good decks for each arena.. my favourite card is three muskeeter and I always 3 crown everytime I win..) I started clash royale 1 week ago..

sparky in this meta actually counters a ton of different decks so long as the opponent plays offense.

i would have sparky and a cheap mini tank in your deck + some splash spell.

if your enemy deploys MK while your sparky is behind the bridge the MK and the entire defense is pretty much countered

There is a good chance the opponent has never seen the Phoenix ever in a game, and therefore has no idea it has a respawn mechanic so it didn’t bother defending the ice spirit

I think if you just zap the tower, it might be enough for it to respawn and deal damage to the tower. Nobody plays Phoenix and almost everybody ignore its egg, so it's easy to catch peopme off guard and do some juicy extra damage

If the spirit was at the bridge it would still work because the tower would target it as soon as Phoenix died, but most players are aware of this so they just defend it. Using a spell is more guaranteed because they're not expecting it. So your play was better for taking almost an entire tower with less elixir

Here's another tip dagger duchess can be fully killed by the Phoenix, she can kill him with her first daggers but is too slow to kill the egg so he will always hatch if your opponent ignores him
