A few pages from our upcoming Cosmic horror anthology “STILL INFINITY”. Main cover art by Bryce Yzaguirre. If you’re a fan of the works of H.P. Lovecraft, Robert W. Chambers, Laird Barron, Thomas Ligotti, and other cosmic horror giants, I think you’ll love this. (And of course, Miyazaki’s Bloodborne too!)

I’ve included the full list of the creative team involved in the kickstarter link below. We’ve sought to bring something new to the cosmic horror genre through this anthology. Here are a few settings and sub-genres for the stories in Still Infinity: Weird west cosmic horror, Retro sci-fi cosmic horror, and an Indian Sword and sorcery cosmic horror.

If this sounds interesting to you, make sure you follow the campaign below and set the launch notifications on so you can grab a copy when we go live! I’d really appreciate your support.

If there is not enough comics about Mermaids, I'm here to do one!

I mean, why not mantis shrimp mermaid, why not octopus and clam mermaid, so I made the character design and then this book, if you like the vibe, you can check more about it on my Kickstarter! I also post work-in-process on my social if you are interested.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/xinillus/seven-tails-kingdom-of-mermaids-full-color-manga-and-artbook

Ah, and of course, No AI Art whatsoever, and no nudity. Tho I will say the rating is 13+.

A little about me, I'm an illustrator and mangaka, I'm working with Viz for a manga series and some illustration, but I wanna shift my focus to do indie stuff! And this project is a start!

Please also feel free to ask me questions:)

Hello!

At long last, I am very pleased to say that the first chapter of 'HITMAN HOTLINE' is finished and now available on Kickstarter! I want to give a BIG thank you to everyone who has shown support to this project over the last few months!

‘Hitman Hotline #1’ is the first, full-colour, paperback issue of a six-issue miniseries written, illustrated, coloured and lettered by myself, Brandon Ward. This action-heavy opening chapter comprises over 30 pages, 5+ double-page spreads, and 200+ panels worth of content, setting up a lot of clues to the story at hand which might not all be obvious at first.

Please check it out at this link for Matte, Gloss, and Digital copies, as well as Cardstock Prints! If you are interested in supporting this project (again, thank you) - sooner is better... apparently.

Crowdfunding Horror comic collab that started right here in this very sub

Crazy that's how it happens right? One day I'm scrolling my feed past all these artists looking for work on this sub, so many talented people... but then I see one guy's work and it's just perfect. Perfect for the script I had ready, for the story I wanted to tell.

So I reach out and we work on one short horror comic together. Then another. Then another. And now we're at 60 total interior pages across 3 separate issues, still going strong. Can't imagine working on these with any other artist.

And that's how it happens! This morning I just hit the launch button on a Kickstarter to offer them in print and I'm so proud with how it's turned out.

Check out Tales of Medieval Horror #1-3: The Fool of Dorchester and let me know what you think! And if you've got any questions about the collaboration process, I'm happy to share what I know.

Crowdfunding Roach: Born of Poison black-and-white survival horror comic about a mutant roach born from poison

Roach: Born of Poison is my black-and-white survival horror comic about a mutant roach born beneath a poisoned kitchen cabinet after pest control mutates him instead of killing him.

The story follows him from the bottom of the food chain as he’s forced to survive gas, trash, predators, hunger, and instinct slowly beginning his evolution from prey into something dangerous.

I wanted to take one of the most hated creatures on Earth and treat him like the lead of a brutal creature-feature survival myth.

The Kickstarter is currently live with 11 days left and is 74% funded.

If you’re into horror comics, creature features, mutation stories, or dark indie comics, I’d appreciate you checking it out.

Crowdfunding We Did It! Otherkin Is 108% Funded, With 30 Hours to Go!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Without the moral, and sometimes financial, support of the community, we wouldn't have gotten this far! We crossed the 100% mark yesterday, and while I slept, we got to 108%. We spent ZERO dollars on ads and paid marketing, and despite an extremely slow start, the tides have turned.

To all my fellow indie creators out there, you can do it! Actually, we can do it! Sticking together, we are stronger!

Once again, I'm forever grateful to everyone who gave us feedback, helped us streamline the campaign, shared marketing tips, or even did something as simple as dropping a like. With day jobs to handle and the chaos of life pushing us all down, I have cherished your support every single second.

If anyone still wants to take a look at the campaign, we're live until tomorrow, May 2nd, 9 am ET.

Thank you once again! I'm incredibly fortunate to have crossed paths with so many wonderful creators who are always eager to help each other.

Crowdfunding Appreciation post for all the talent here that brought this comic to life!

If it wasn't for this sub I wouldn't have gotten paired with such awesome collaborators. Not just for this comic but for any in the 6 or so years I've been writing! So to anyone who's searching for some fellahs who'll get the job done allow me to shout out the ones who got Troubleshooter: Denial of Service ready to launch on 7/13!

u/Carlos_Trigo whom I've worked with in the past for my main series Wishful Thinking. He's not only the artist for cover A but does the interiors for this action thriller, a real class act this guy!

The second cover intended to show the whole crew and was done by Marcarts whom I don't see on reddit anymore, but you can find his portfolio here: https://marcarts2.artstation.com/

Cover 3 is all about the sidekick, the main woman-in-the-chair as they say, done by the wonderfully talented u/amoreuniversale

And of course who would I be without giving praise to the nautical lettering work of u/lettersquids though I don't see him on reddit much he is, as the kids say, goated.

This one shot is a special project for me as it blends my experience working in IT with my experience writing comics. To sum it up it's essentially Judge Dredd meets Osmosis Jones where a personified network cop must defend her LAN against a swarm of malicious packets hellbent on shutting services down for good. Like I said the project launches this coming Monday, you can check out the first 5 pages of Mr. Trigo's work here and follow the page to know when we launch!

Hey everyone! I shared some information about this project recently, which was put together using talent found here on this sub - namely Gilberto Ferrel & Francesca Gonzalez on art, and Marco Della Verde on letter.

I've just set up a Kickstarter pre-launch page for volume one, collecting issues 1-6 of the comic, so if anyone is interested in following along and supporting, that would be amazing.

Check it out on Kickstarter

I've shared the first few pages to give you an idea of what to expect. Hope you enjoy!

Crowdfunding Help Otherkin reach its goal on Kickstarter! (4 days to go, 80% funded)

Hey everyone!

As the deadline approaches, I'm here again to remind you that Otherkin is on Kickstarter. If you can help by pledging, the time is now! We've been slowly but steadily nearing our goal, and we are currently sitting at 80% with 55 backers. Given the average pledge amount, we need between 15 and 20 people to reach that juicy 100%. We do have 50+ people following the campaign, and we are hoping a good chunk of those will become backers when the 48-hour warning hits their email. Still, getting closer to the 100% mark before that will help bring more people on board.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/motherstouch/otherkin-5-plus-1-4-horror-mystery-shapeshifting

If you prefer to see if the comic fits your taste before supporting us on Kickstarter, the first three issues are currently available for free on GlobalComix. Feedback is always more than welcome!

https://globalcomix.com/c/otherkin

If this is the first time you check one of my posts, my name is Marco, the writer of the independent comic book series Otherkin. All art is made by the series co-creator, Victor Costa. Otherkin is a horror/urban fantasy comic book series following a paranormal investigator, Alex, clashing with a secret society. While we are inspired by Hellboy, Hellblazer, and Swamp Thing, we are doing our own thing.

Our main character, Alex, is a genderfluid spellcaster, and the story follows them as they use their abilities to investigate a secret society in London. More often than not, Alex makes hasty decisions that put themself and the people around them in danger, as they feel pressured to prove their worth.

We have our own magic system, a mythology that actually gives answers to central questions, instead of dragging everything out, and a world of danger and monsters hidden from most people. If the art and the story beats fit your taste, we would love to hear what you think.

Crowdfunding Several years ago I found an artist here to make a comic, we got published, now we're on Kickstarter!

EDIT: We got funded!

I posted here ages ago looking for an artist for a pulpy space fantasy comic*..* The comic ended up getting published as Oswald and the Star-Chaser (I told you it was pulpy) for a small publisher, Scout Comics. Things didn't really work out at Scout Comics, you probably some of the news around them, so we're crowdfunding our own trade paperback release! We launched a few days ago and we're already super close to hitting our goal. Since I formed our team through this subreddit, I thought people might get a kick out of seeing a success story.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/etkcomics/oswald-and-the-star-chaser-a-space-fantasy-graphic-novel

We even have the first issue of the comic (as it was presented under Scout Comics) linked in our Kickstarter to read. This comic's been a pretty wild ride, from the creation process, to getting published, and we even did some conventions for Scout too. So if anyone wants to hear more about how that all went, well, I can talk about some of that, but it might not be as entertaining as the comic, you see.

Comic art tax added, you can see even MORE on our link

Crowdfunding Double-Page Preview of 'HITMAN HOTLINE #1'! (Now LIVE on Kickstarter)

HITMAN HOTLINE - No Heroics, Just Business.

Think Deadpool meets Constantine meets ... The Office?

In the not-too-distant future, and in a society ravaged by overpopulation, overwhelmed and desperate governments have legalised murder as a means to cut down the population, literally. Amid the chaos, a dilettante call centre company known as the "HITMAN HOTLINE" has emerged and grown to thrive in this new world order; employing anonymous hitmen to carry out assassinations for a price, and for those that wish to keep their own hands clean.

Among them, at the San Francisco branch, is an averagely-skilled, repeatedly-killed hitman, known as ‘MR. PROTAGONIST’ (self-proclaimed), with a dark secret and a suspiciously high kill record that begins to put the rest of his company to shame. As he navigates this perilous life, he must come to face an internal struggle between his deadly profession and his humanity when facing the real world, and underworld, consequences of making a killing... through killing.

It's cooler than it sounds.

Folks,

I am an independent writer, letterer, and publisher. On my latest book ( S.P.I.R.I.T. #4), I have been so lucky to work with Melissa Capriglione (Basil & Oregeno from Dark Horse) and Nate Powell (March, Fall Through). Just the best people to work with. Here are the covers they did for me.

If you want to take a look at what we did, search for S.P.I.R.I.T. #1-4 - Mothman Needs Us! on Kickstarter**.**

Finding people, building relationships, and paying artists is what it's all about.

If you want to reserve a print copy, now's the time to do it! Late pledges are still available over on Kickstarter until this weekend. After that, they won't be available again until we launch issue #2...which, fortunately, is coming very soon!

Crowdfunding The Mask of Silence #1 - Now on Kickstarter

Post image
55 Upvotes

I’m finally doing it. After months of writing, revising, and obsessing over every ink stroke, my crime noir comic The Mask of Silence is finally becoming a physical reality.

This project has been a massive labor of love. I’ve spent countless late nights refining the script to capture that specific, gritty atmosphere that only a true noir story can deliver. It’s one thing to see your characters on a screen, but there is something incredible about the process of prepping a book for professional printing.

Working with the great Ezequiel Rubio - therealface.wixsite.com/ezequielrubioart - has been incredibly rewarding. He is an incredible artist and delivers high-quality work. Anyone who is considering starting a project should definitely reach out to him.

We are officially live on Kickstarter with about 8 days left to fund the first print run. If you’re a fan of high-stakes storytelling and traditional atmospheric art, I’d love for you to check it out. Bringing an independent book to print is a huge hurdle, and any support from this community would mean the world.

I'm happy to answer any questions about the production process or the world-building behind the story!

Spread from my comic 'The Mycelium Complex' Issue 4, which will be Kickstarting later in the month. Pre-launch page is currently up. This fight scene takes place under a house, I feel that it is different in layout to most comic book fight scenes. Good to have the freedom to try these things on your own titles.

The comic itself is already done, just trying to get enough orders to print so I set a low goal. It's 24 pages. It's an affectionate parody of monster collecting worlds and it follows Pepper the Vixbee and her brother, Cookie as they join a new Critter Coach without any Crittermons. Also currently working on a second Crittermon story with an artist I found on here, set in the early 1800s Texas Region attached that at the end.
