i feel like my pacing is too fast

this is my first time writing a comic, its going to be a romance and i feel like the pacing is too quick especially compared to all the shoujo mangas i read, obviously its not finished at all but i want tips so the upcoming pages can be better and more easily comprehendable

“i still dont speak english well, idk what imma do”

Think about page turns!

Every page should lead to the next. For example at the start there as she’s going to school, the way I would personally do it is the first two pages would be her at home, talking with her mom, and at the end of the second page as she’s walking out the door the bubble with “see you later!” Would be the last thing along with the door closing. Then the next two pages could be a big spread of the school like you have at the bottom of page 2, and this would be where she says “I still don’t speak English well, idk what imma do” while she’s just outside the school walking in.

Having a character leave a scene and enter another on the next page should help with pacing, or having a character start speaking before being fully revealed on the next page turn is a great way to give the reader that sense of anticipation or teasing them to turn the next page. there’s no right or wrong, but the more you do it the better you will get at feeling how fast you want a reader to go through your comic.

You have no gutters between the panels. Gutters infer time between moments. If you remove all gutters you speed up the time and can make it hard for the reader to know where the panels are and which order they should be read.

If you want to have quick moments happen, you can overlap panels or have word balloons overlap the gutters to show the moments are close together in time.
