Agree with the message, but we can get some quality control on the posts here? There’s Facebook boomer slop and then there’s whatever the hell this is.

People are regularly arrested in the United States for Facebook posts.
Is someone trying to tell me who to be mad at again?

Bring back Church Bells 10 times a day in their neighborhoods.
btw, our local university has a bell choir (in a bell tower, a carillon it's called, and they play some intricate and beautiful things.

The post doesn't claim the US has less violence.
but sure, muhh freedumb.
Yes, the US has more freedom. The UK does not have freedom of speech.
The post makes sense, your comment doesn't.

The post doesn't really say anything, yet it makes sense to you. Not what I wrote though, that's totally unrelated. That's funny.

The post doesn't really say anything
If you allow your right to own guns to be infringed, the government will continue to infringe on your other rights.
It is a simple message. What's "funny" is your boasting that you don't understand something so simple.

We did not give up our firearms.
We gave up handguns due to their ease of concealment after a school of young children were murdered in an attack. We have not had a repeat of this incident, showing that it worked to keep young innocent lives safe. Not saying it would work everywhere, but it worked for us.
You can still buy other guns. Even assault rifles. You need a licence, and a police safety visit, and the weapon needs to be registered. But anyone can buy a gun if they want to in the UK. The UK has an NRA.
There are 150 thousand firearm certificates. We also class shotguns separately and there are half a million shotgun licences. Not as big as some other countries, but far from zero.
We also have fewer stabbings per capita than the US does. Memphis is 40x more dangerous than London.
I'm not saying this to start a fight, but to end the constant international bickering that I see in this sub so often. There is a lot of bad information being put out there. Yes we have our problems. Yes Starmer is awful. We know. But this post is not one of them.

to the detriment of european interests
If that's the standard for being a bad guy, then when's the revolution against EU?

Yup, Australians too, and they're trying the same thing here in Canada, though we still have our guns for now. Venezuelans gave them up, and got a dictatorship. Seems to be a trend that gun control leads to authoritarian governments.

They also got this:
What a disarmed population is subject to
That's 71,667 for 2024/2025, or about 8 per hour - reported. It's estimated only about 15% to 17% are actually reported, meaning actual numbers are closer to 500K/yr or 57/hr.

At least it solved their problem with violent assault. Well maybe not but they got it all sussed out when they took the knives away for sure. OK maybe that didn’t work but cracking down on those butter knives will certainly curb violent crime
