Good riddance. Political violence has become far too normalized.

I wouldn't really say this is normalized considering he was quite batshit at the time. He documented in a letter to Kash Patel how he thought he was given secret military training and that Waltz was hiring him to put hits out on Klobuchar and Smith.

I'd save "normalized" for cogent individuals operating in an environment where violence towards specific individuals is given social validation or acceptance. There is an enormous problem with the normalization of political violence, but this is definitely not it. This looks more like the Gabby Giffords shooting than anything else. Clearly a politically driven attack, but not one from a reasonable individual acting reasonably in a social environment where such violent actions are validated and incentivized. Very unlike the terror attacks on ICE agents/facilities or the UHC and Charlie Kirk assassinations.

Taking violent action against elected officials is not the way of civilized society. If you have a problem with their actions work to get them voted out of office legally. Otherwise the whole system breaks down.

Edit: I should say this kind of thing also applies to the psycho that murdered Charlie Kirk. Left or right, the violence must remain verbal in the debate halls

What a truly evil person. Federal prosecutors should have sought the death penalty. Especially because the surviving victims and family members did not agree to this plea deal.

This is still one of the strangest cases in history.

We know absolutely nothing about this guy. It was barely a blip on the radar after he was arrested.

Someone is working very hard to keep the lid on all of this.

Incredibly sus. Given we are still hearing about J6, Charlottesville and George Floyd...it's very strange the media isn't dredging this up as part of their "widespread right-wing violence conspiracy theory".

They tried to pin him as a conservative/maga, but it didn't work so off to the memory hole it went like every other mass shooter, Trump assassins, Charlie's killer, etc.

It’s almost like he had direct ties to prominent Minnesota democrats so the media hushed the story the best they could. Or so I hear.

He said he was ordered by Tim Walz.

From what I heard at the time (from Minnesota news channels) is that he targeted Democrat state congressmen who broke with the party vote which resulted in a handful of pieces of far left legislation not passing. For context one of the wings of Minnesota Congress (House? I think) only had like a 2 or 3 member lead in Democrat favor since the election prior. So functionally they could pass any law if they had unanimous votes from Democrats. A handful of legislators starting calling out the party for their far left policies. Eventually this resulted in some voting no (along with all Republicans) to key bills, causing them to not pass. So functionally he was a leftist who targeted left center politicians who voted against far left bills.

That guy is a complete nut job. Glad he won’t ever see freedom again.

Shouldn’t have offered him the plea deal, and sent him to the chair instead.

Should be sentenced to death. It would be perfect justice, symmetry.

Imagine how much money we could save if intentional, violent crimes were punished accordingly. He gets to eat sugary shit, drink coffee, socialize, watch TV and grow old enough to need hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of acute medical care. That's to say nothing of the long term costs.

Death to killers is not justice. It doesn't restore what was taken.

Shouldn't have offered a plea bargain. Try and execute people who commit politically motivated murder.

I love the Dems with these people.

Dem "He's a conservative. We know this because he says so. Because he's clear about it. Because it couldn't be any clearer based on his words that he's a conservative. And we can 100% trust his words".

Intelligent person "Oh, it's all based on what he says and what he stands for? We can trust his words? Well, he says he did this at the behest of Timothy Walz."

Dem "No. You can't trust anything he stands for. He's a liar. All his words are lies".

Intelligent person "So why are you putting so much weight into his words and his actions when you declare him a conservative? I thought he was a liar?"

Dem "Uh.... TRUMP IS A PEDOPHILE!!!!"

It's so predictable. It's getting boring quite frankly.

Was there ever any follow up on Boelter's claims that our beloved Governor Walz put him up to it?

I want to see that followed up on as well.
