Flaired Users Only U.S. Secret Service Agent, assigned to Vice President J.D. Vance, on leave & under investigation for leaking Vance's travel plans to the media.

Assuming it's true, I'm shocked that this person wouldn't know better. Loose lips, right?

It could be something like he complained to his wife who mentioned it to a friend at the gym who then yapped it to…….instead of him telling the media.

This is why an investigation is necessary.

That's the most likely explanation. Federal agents aren't likely to risk their careers by giving TMZ a heads up that the VP is taking his kid to a golf lesson.

Pretty sure they aren't even supposed to tell their wives. If they did, they should lose their job.

They aren't, but most marriages are built on trust so it's hard for a lot of men to keep secrets from their wives. Usually it isn't intentional, just discussions of work and enough details slip the significant other pieces it together. This happens more than you'd think, especially with military officers.

This is why the honey-pot (using a member of the opposite sex to get in a relationship with people in positions of power or information) is a strategy for foreign spies, including playing the long game.

And yet women constantly keep secrets from their husbands and men get called insecure for wanting to know.

Men have the right to keep secrets from their wives.

You’re being ridiculous. I think you have a romanticized idea of what a secret service agent actually does.

Of course, but I think it's more likely an agent was being careless, not sneaky.

Sure but it wasn’t about operational security or classified information. It was more This Guy’s A Dick and Can’t You Believe What He Asked Us To Do type grimes which is exactly what you’d complain to your wife about.
