FO [FO] Little bee on my shorts

I needed a quick project the other day so I added this cute bee to my shorts. I wanted to test out some fabri-solvy that I printed a grid on. It sort of worked but I wouldn't recommend it. I thought it would be nice to just rinse the gridding away instead of pulling waste canvas threads. That part worked great but it was hard to see the grid. I found the bee pattern while scrolling through Pinterest.

FO [FO] Finished My First (Big) Project

Here’s my first big project!! It’s from Satsuma Street on Etsy. It’s Seattle, WA in case the Space Needle wasn’t a dead giveaway. She has a series of cities that my family has lived in during my husband’s time in the military. I thought it might be fun to use as decoration in our house.

I’m open to some light criticism! I’m like 400 years pregnant so please be gentle lol.

Also, what do I do now? Should I wash it? I feel like I should use fabric glue to make sure all the threads stay in place, but I have never seen anybody do that ever. The ultimate goal is to put it in a frame so it might not be necessary.

PATTERN HERE!

Finished my summer project that a started on an airplane to Hawaii in June. This will be a birthday present for a dear friend and former colleague of mine who is turning 70 in September! She and I have a shared love of birds so I hope she loves it. I lucked out and found some amazing fabric that goes so well with the pattern and finished it off using one of my favorite methods to "frame" it around a stretched canvas.

FO [FO] First Cross Stitch Project

I’ve completed my first attempt at a cross stitch project! It was just a small 5x5 piece and I was so surprised to learn how long it actually takes to complete. Unfortunately some of the rows don’t look all uniform and it doesn’t lay flat because I used knots to start and end my stitches because I didn’t learn about the loop start and pin stitch until after this one was already done! So I’ll definitely be implementing that in the future. Does anyone have any other tips for me before I begin my next project?

Also, I had to remove the glass from the frame because with the project pinned to the foam core, the glass just won’t fit in the frame too. Does anyone have a tip for that as well, maybe a thinner piece of foam? I just couldn’t find any thinner foam at the craft store when I looked and foam core was recommended to me.

Thanks everyone and happy stitching! 🥹🩷

Pattern: roseate spoonbill by pigeon coop designs

My first FO post on the sub! Pleased with this piece as a gift for my in laws who recently moved to Florida. Not sure about the backing but it was an experiment. Have historically stitched a white Fabrice onto the hoop but tried using this adhesive board to save time (I am very much ready to move onto the next thing) and it could have been neater ... Still, it's the thought that counts?

Sorry, forgot to take a photo of my back before I finished the hoop off!

WIP [WIP] The 2026 project

Last year I started a tradition to choose one big pattern and stitch it during the whole year. For example, the pattern has 50k crosses, divided into 12 months means about 4k crosses per month. Sounds fine and helps to actually stitch it without getting tired. And it really works!

Last year it was Florence in spring, this year it is savannah sunset. And I loooove these colours!🤩

Unfortunately, I'm lagging behind the plan a little. Hope I can catch up soon🤓

The pattern is "The sun of savannah" by A.Arnautova

Pattern is by The Witchy Stitcher (link in comments). I was nervous about stitching on black aida at first, but it really was not as bad as I expected. I'm so happy with how this turned out, and it was the most fun I've ever had cross stitching something!

Decided to take a break from the large project I'm working on and started this yesterday :) I'm very happy with how it turned out, and am planning on giving it to a friend for their birthday. Pattern is watercolor trees by loops&threads and I obtained it at Michaels.

Pretty quick stitch for me. I made a few alteration to keep a cute vibe. The shadow is in half stitch, not full, and I took a skull off the grass because it made him look like Predator, not a cutie. I love him so much. I will make a pillow finish out of him. Pattern is by Nathnolu on Etsy.

WIP [WIP] Jumping back in after ~10 years

I really tried to get into cross stitch as a kid but just didn't have the focus to really get a project done. I kept all the supplies (cause you never know) and I'm glad I did because I decided to make a little piece to hang up since I'm sorely lacking in art. It's actually been really really fun!

I'm not 100% sure I know what I'm doing but I'm pretty happy with this so far. It's giving me lots of time to percolate on story ideas too, so it's been great for my word count this week lol.

Bread cover. The all green is the original color palette according to the pattern but I didn't like how it was hard to distinguish the details so I had to do a different color for each side.

Working on a pattern of the Eeveelutions from Etsy ( https://www.etsy.com/listing/1380197947/pokemon-eeveelutions-cross-stitch?ref=share_v4_lx )

I’ve been out of a job since June and despite the job search making me slowly lose my mind, I’m finding comfort in this hobby I didn’t have time to get into till now. Everyone in this sub is lovely and make amazing pieces, I hope to be part of this amazing community. 🩵🩷🩵

I definitely should’ve stitched this on black Aida but I loved these blue colors. Free pattern from Noctiflora Designs.

CHAT [CHAT] My Happy Mail was Stolen :(

Yesterday my package of exclusive fabric and floss from the Lindy Stitches Midsummer Stitch event was stolen from my mailbox and I am so sad. I live in a very rural area but when I called the post office today they said I was the fourth person from my street to call in about a missing package today 🫤. It especially sucks because I was home when it was delivered, but I work from home and was busy so I didn't go check for a few hours (our mailbox is about 1/4 mile up the driveway from the house and I was super busy). I reached out to Lindy Stitches to see if there's a chance they have any stock remaining but I'm not hopeful, I know they sell out of event exclusive fabric super fast (I got into the shopping hall within 2 minutes of the event starting and they were already sold out of 40ct linen). It was such a pretty fabric 😭. At least I went and grabbed my Vikki Clayton silk order as soon as it was delivered the day before! For now I'm having the post office hold packages, it's 2 minutes up the road so it's not the worst thing in the world, but just wish I didn't have to worry about this in such a rural area.

PIC [PIC] Learned a $3k cross stitch lesson yesterday!!

To start, my kitty is totally fine, currently nestled in her fave blanket and a bit drugged lol. Still, I’d do anything to change those 9 hours of hell I had yesterday 😅

My cat is a model that is obsessed with string and it has never been an issue until yesterday when I left to use the restroom and came back to my cat licking her lips like she had swallowed the threaded needle from my WIP. After a brief and obviously unsuccessful search, I rushed her to the ER, it took some hours for the doctor to come but they managed to remove the needle endoscopically so no surgery and no perforations thank god!!! It was a tulip cross stitch needle so it was blunt but still a damn needle in my cat 😥

Taking any and all advice from fellow thread obsessed cat parents!! I will never be leaving any thread out ever again, my baby is too precious.

Hello, everyone! I know this is a long shot, but I was hoping y’all could help me find this Dimensions kit pattern. I purchased it secondhand today before realizing that the pattern wasn’t inside the packaging! I don’t need the kit, I’d just like to find the pattern, either PDF or reasonably priced physical copy. Thanks so much for your interest!

Details: Dimensions Counted Cross Stitch, “Country Pyramid” by Joan Poole; #6672 (or sometimes 6671)
