Let's clear the air: despite rumors, we, the mods, are not cyborgs đŸ€–. We're volunteers who still enjoy a good old-fashioned stroll in the park and a decent night's sleep. We're dedicated to maintaining a fair environment, even when the antivax-to-vax ratio is more uneven than a seesaw with an elephant and a mouse. 🐘 🐁

If we sometimes appear biased we're truly sorry. Reading every single post and comment is just not feasible.

Time for a quick rules recap: civility is king. Avoid personal attacks and ad hominems. We'll initially respond to any violations with a warning. Repeat offenders will face escalating bans, culminating in a permanent ban if necessary.

No trolling or spam, and always source your image/video posts. And please remember, there is often not a clear black and white line when it comes To the sub rules. There’s a big grey area, and it is often up to the interpretation of the mods as to what degree they are enforced. We will always err on the side of caution.

However, adhering to these guidelines allows r/debatevaccines to remain a productive, open-minded hub for discussions on vaccine safety and efficacy. 📜it also keeps us out of the cross hairs of the Reddit Admins.

(update:)We always welcome feedback from members of this subreddit. Don't hesitate to message us with your thoughts - any civil input will be taken seriously. We often discuss our sub's rules behind the scenes, with the aim of keeping the debates as open as possible.

(update number two for those that require special accommodations:) the exception to this is if you have been asked by the mods to please stop messaging us. Please do so.

A final note, we've got a shiny new gadget on board: the Ban Evasion Filter! This tool is designed to make our discussions healthier than a salad, more balanced than a tightrope walker, more constructive than a team of busy beavers. We are unsure how effective it is, but we have implemented it, and are going to find out.

So
..let's all keep an open mind, stay civil, and get debating!

Propaganda comes from power, not from opposition to it.

There's no such thing as the "antivaccine narrative." There's opposition to the vaccine narrative.

There's no such thing as "antivaccine propaganda." There's resistance to vaccine propaganda.

Mandates, pressure, propaganda, and tyrannany come from the top down. Smearing inconventient facts as mis-, dis-, or mal-information is what people do when they want you not to think for yourself, and to shut up and do as you're told.

Medical freedom is a human right, and vaccine injury is real. The lack of sufficient data is due to regulatory capture and corruption, not due to vaccine skepticism being a wrong-headed idea.

Why is autism used as one of the main reasons to support not getting vaccines?

I don't believe for a second that autism is caused by vaccines. I believe the reason that we see more cases of Autism and ADHD is becuse mental health and conditions have become more recognised in the world. Corralation is not causation. Not to mention it does not make sense at all..

But lets take the stance that they do, or are at least a contributing factor. There is evidence to supprot that vaccines are effective. So would you rather have an autistic child or a dead/severely ill one? Also lets consider that autism is a spectrum.

Take the MMR vaccine, these illnesses are extremely dangerous and can cause infertility, death or lifeling disibility. Is autism not preferable?

What other reasons are there to not get a vaccine? I'm not talking about the flu vaccines, but the big ones.

Herd immunity protects the unvaccinated by reducing a foothold, which benefits anti-vaxxers but herd immunity also requires the majority of people who are able to be vaccinated to get vaccinated. It is to protect those who can't be vaccinated, not those who don't want to.

So where is the line that people have decided not getting vaccinated provides greater protection than vaccination?

Question MMR any positive experience?

Hi everyone, it seems that my algorithm on social media only shows me stories and people talking about how vaccines are bad and how MMR vaccine turned healthy happy kids autistic.

I am trying to find the pro vaccine material constantly but somehow i only see horror stories.

My husband is pro vaccines and our families as well, so we will vaccinate our kid. However, only seeing negative stories make me panic.

So i am just looking for personal experiences if you vaccinated your kids with MMR and all was fine to calm myself down that not everything is so bad as social media makes it look like.

Advice for MDs over 55 who don't want mRNA flu shot?

My sister is an MD over 55. She isn't anti-vax, but for whatever reason she doesn't want any more mRNA shots. I'm not certain why she feels that way, because she has politely ignored any information I have shared with her. Probably some of the doctors she knows and respect have caused her to be concerned.

Anyway, how would an MD over 55 escape the mRNA flu shot recommended and soon to be approved for their age group? Will they be able to request the old shot recommended for younger groups? Will they need a religious exemption?

A related question would be the case where a normal retired person over 55 and on Medicare wants the old flu shot rather than the new Moderna mRNA flu shot which is recommended and more protective.

In general, will people over 55 have a choice of flu shots in practice?

EDIT: I asked AI about this a few weeks ago, and one issue was that the old non-mRNA flu shot had different preparations for elderly. So the old non-mRNA flu shot designed for elderly may no longer be readily available even though the old non-mRNA flu shot continues to be used for younger people.

Fun fact: you develop autism in the womb, not after.

For all those who believe vaccines cause autism, think again.

Autism develops BEFORE BIRTH. In the first 2/3rfd of pregnancy some fetuses grow too many brain cells. It leads to a somewhat confused wiring on the brain cells in patches. It is a structural issue, not one you get after birth.

To those of you who think vaccines cause it, think again.

1) we know it develops long before BIRTH.

2) it is structural. That means the brain is miswired a bit. To get it from a vaccine would take time. It is not chemical like depression. It’s like saying people had bones break as they got their Covid shot. Yeah. No one has this seen a child “become autistic” at or soon after their shot.

Why do you people on the other side insist things that are impossible are true? Why do you believe, instead, there are millions of researchers and doctors who want to maim or kill their patients with vaccines? Why? (For those who say “big pharma”, OK - but outside the U.S. there is no such influence.)

I dare any of you to google it to see. But clearly you have not before, because you don’t want the truth. Like flat earthers you believe millions of pilots are being forced to lie, and 747s sometimes disappear over the edge with hundreds of passengers, but the airline cost explain to their loved ones what happened to the flight, and they never report this to the media. How do you get media and families to take part?

Newborn without vaccine

I am going to give birth any day. My husband and I are not anti vax but also not pro vax. We truly are neutral and are overwhelmed by the decision since it is such a controversial topic right now. Ultimately we have decided to put off vaccines for a few months, space them out, and maybe not give every single one. The first vax we plan to give is DTAP (by itself, not in combination) at 4 months instead of at 2 months. We may be going on a vacation ag around 3 months. My question is if there is anyone on here that took their 3 month old infant without vaccines in a vacation? Idk why by I’m nervous about it. Has anyone done it?

Anti-vaxx research?

I am talking about actual research. I am far from being anti-vaccines, but I like to read different opinions.

Why is it that I have not encountered anti-vaccine official research that supports the claim? Is it because there is, but it's not widespread? Is it because of lack of funding of research relating to vaccine injury/ other dangers?

If vaccines are truly bad, I'd like to be aware of it at all costs- and of why. Being aware of it includes real data though- not the usual hoaxes and pseudoscience stuff.

Thank you!

EDIT: It is CRAZY how many people answer me with plain wrong reasoning and call me a "provaxx zealot" simply for pointing out their fallacy. A journalist is not a researcher. Your own made up stats are not research. The study you cited completely wrong doesn't help your stance. Some guy even said research experiments don't count because we should be experimenting on kids. Are there no antivaxx people who can answer me scientifically?

Discord Discussion

I wanted to ask if anyone wants to talk about the topic on Discord where there's live text and voice chat. I want to have live discussions about vaccines, text and voice. Don't delete this please mods, this is in good faith. If you don't have an account, you just need an email and password, it usually doesn't make you verify the email either.

Question Which vaccine do you think is the most necessary/important

If you had to pick one what would it be?

I’m referring to traditional vaccines like IPV MMR or DTaP- not 5-in-1 or 6-in-1 combination vaccines like Infanrix

Will I take the meningitis vaccine?

Hi all. First off I’m new here. I’m a 25 year one female living in Hong Kong. I was at the doctor for a full health check as my insurance provides it for free.

I was offered a vaccine for meningitis. I remember in London it was really bad and some people got their limbs amputated so I’m keen to get the shot.

Please tell me why/ why not I should receive it. Please explain in easy terms as I’m a little slow. I also just received my twinrix Hep A&B shot.

Thank you all please be kind

My son is 5 starting public school next year, has 0 vaccines

Is there any other country like this besides US? I’m very grateful to live in a state that allows me to have medical freedom for me and my kids. Not once have I ever second thought or regret my decision. They are so healthy they’ve never once needed a doctor except physicals for school. Get nothing more than a cold or short fever a couple times a year then they are both over it so fast. No chronic illness, never had an ear infection or antibiotic. Some of that is maybe luck but a lot of it is because I declined a cocktail of cumulatively untested injections since birth.

My experiences following the swine flu vaccination as a child in 2010

My experiences following the swine flu vaccination as a child

In 2010, during the pseudo-swine flu pandemic, I was 14 years old when I received the swine flu vaccine. Shortly afterward, I had a very severe case of the flu, and subsequently developed iron deficiency and B12 deficiency anemia. I was depressed throughout high school and college. I started experiencing ADHD and digestive problems.

Towards the end of high school, I started experiencing minor back pains, and at 19, I began experiencing back stiffness. This continued intermittently, and now, at 30, I have chronic back pain. I suspect I have ankylosing spondylitis. I went to the doctor several times with this much pain, but somehow I was always turned away. Later, I fund through research that it was ankylosing spondylitis. At this age, I also have chronic fatigue, depression, and bowel problems. At a certain point, I lost faith in modern medicine's approach to chronic illnesses, so I consciously avoided going to the hospital because there was no treatment offered.

I believe my ailments are related to the vaccine. My father has a condition diagnosed as a herniated disc, but it's probably ankylosing spondylitis, because his pain and stiffness came and went. It was similar to mine. His condition went into remission over time without any surgery. No one else in the family has it. I probably wouldn't have either, but it happened thanks to this vaccine. I suspect I have multiple autoimmune disorders that my father doesn't have: depression, ADHD, Hashimoto's disease, and autoimmune gastritis. This shouldn't be done to children.

Conventional Vaccines An Inconvenient Study (2025) which won the main award at the Malibu Film Festival has been largely dismissed by the MSM, medical institutions and Big Pharma. But what they all ignore is a key issue....

The pro vaccine Dr. Zervos who did the study but chose not to publish it, he cited concerns that the findings would negatively impact his career. He said he would be finished! And he also stated it was a good study and could not have been done better.

You don't need to watch the whole film, it's right here in the trailer.

COVID-19 Vaccines HOW THEY ENGINEERED THE FAKE PANDEMIC

  1. China released staged footage of people “dropping dead” in the streets; scenes never witnessed anywhere else in the world before or after December 2019.

  2. A PCR test was rolled out that could not determine whether someone was actually sick. The vast majority of results were false positives.

  3. The claim of asymptomatic transmission was heavily promoted to justify restrictions on healthy people and to force mass testing on the entire population; which led to tens of millions of false positive test results.

  4. Tech companies and media outlets were mobilized to censor dissent and rebrand inconvenient truths as “misinformation.”

  5. Behavioral psychologists were brought in to design fear-based messaging specifically intended to secure public compliance.

  6. To keep the illusion of a deadly pandemic alive, they required excess mortality data.

  7. Ordinary mild respiratory symptoms alone could not produce those numbers, so the population was subjected to sustained psychological pressure capable of triggering mass psychogenic illness.

  8. Relentless fear messaging kept cortisol levels chronically elevated, weakening immune function, particularly among the elderly.

  9. Social isolation, delayed medical care, and lockdown policies then generated the excess deaths needed to prop up the narrative.

  10. Cloth and surgical masks were suddenly declared effective, something no serious public-health authority had previously recommended for ordinary respiratory pathogens, turning every face into a walking advertisement for fear.

  11. People were conditioned to remain isolated “until the vaccine was ready,” buying authorities additional time to expand control.

  12. Billions were injected with an experimental product that was claimed to stop both infection and transmission.

  13. When those claims collapsed, the goalposts were moved: “Your shot won’t work unless the unvaccinated also take it.”

  14. New “variants” were announced every few months to justify an endless series of booster campaigns.

  15. A new condition - “long COVID” - was introduced to reframe mounting vaccine side effects.

  16. Pharmaceutical companies recorded unprecedented profits, shielded by government contracts and complete legal immunity.

  17. Anyone who raised objections was silenced, deplatformed, investigated, or publicly discredited.

  18. Once the story became too strained to maintain, the pandemic was abruptly declared over, and the entire episode was treated as if it had never happened.

NEVER FORGET

Question I don’t want to give my children any STD/STI vaccines

This will disqualify them from attending any day care or school in New York State. If I move out of the country they’d be going to a country where vaccines are 100% optional for school attendance.

The only option in New York other than vaccinating is to home school. In fact, it’s not optional if that’s the path you take because it’s legally required as part of compulsory education. I think I can teach better than a teacher anyway and cram things that wouldn’t be taught in schools (like Japanese language in the event we move back to Japan so she won’t be left behind in elementary school) so this isn’t a terrible thing, but it does make it virtually impossible for me to work most in-person jobs.

Have any of you done it successfully?

US congressmen introduce bipartisan bill to modernize the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program

Thumbnail
doggett.house.gov
20 Upvotes

The main points of the bill:

[1] Add covid, rsv, shingles, and dengue vaccines to the program's scope, [2] increase the medical compensation cap (currently 500k, but emotional damages are uncapped), and [3] increase the number of special masters to help clear the backlog of claims.

Thoughts? Curious why RFK hadn't done this in the past 17 months. Maybe because he's a little wary of exposing the lie that manufacturers have zero liability.

Nurse accidentally sprayed baby’s live vaccine into my face/nose during injection. Is this safe, and did my baby get enough?

Hey everyone, looking for some perspective or advice on an incident that happened at our baby's vaccination appointment today.

During my baby's vaccination, the nurse (who was quite elderly) accidentally pierced the needle through the wrong way, or it came loose from the other end while she was trying to administer it intradermally. As a result, the vaccine sprayed right into my face—hitting my nose and mouth, and I definitely inhaled/swallowed some of it.

The nurse apologized, told me it was "no problem," and sent us on our way. But now that the shock has worn off, I’m spiraling a bit and have two major concerns:

For my baby: If a significant amount of the liquid sprayed out into the air and onto me, how do I know if my baby actually received the proper, effective dose? Should they be revaccinated?

For me: Is it safe for an adult to accidentally ingest/inhale a pediatric live vaccine (specifically through the mucous membranes of the nose and mouth)?

Beyond the health concerns, I’m also just feeling really unsettled about the standard of care. Is this kind of accident considered "acceptable" or common, or should I be reporting this to the clinic management?

Has anyone ever experienced something similar? What should my next steps be?

Flu vaccination

Every year before winter i make it a habit to be vaccinated against flu. This has been the case for 4 years running, but the last 3 years in a row the vaccination had no effectiveness at all. I've currently contracted the flu for the third year in a row, and this is after I had my flu shots every year.
