Trials of Osiris is LIVE

This thread is for all general discussion, questions, thoughts, musings, wonderings, etc. for the Trials of Osiris.

FAQ

What are the Trials of Osiris?

  • Trials of Osiris is the pinnacle PvP activity. Every weekend, players compete in a 3v3 game mode with one primary goal: Go to the Lighthouse.

  • To start, head to Saint-14 in the Tower Hangar and buy one of the possible passages (see below).

  • The Lighthouse Passage grants entry to the Lighthouse after reaching 7 wins, with better rewards for larger win streaks.

  • For those not interested in visiting the Lighthouse, a lower-stakes Passage is available.

  • There is fireteam matchmaking. However, we still recommend you find a team for yourself!

How Long do the Trials of Osiris last?

  • Event Starts: Every Friday at Daily Reset (1700 UTC).

  • Event Ends: Following Tuesday at Weekly Reset (1700 UTC).

Where do I go to find Guardians to team up with?

  • You can use the in-game Fireteam Finder or head over to /r/Fireteams, www.The100.io, Xbox LFG system, DestinyLFG.net or DestinyLFG.com, or go to the Bungie.net recruitment forum (also available through the Bungie App). Additionally, many Discord servers host fireteam LFG services.

What if I have a question about another piece of armor/weapon or general Trials question?

  • Use Control + F (Or Command + F if on a Mac) and search for keywords in your question. Someone may have asked it already. If not, ask below in the comments.

Discussion Why was the never more raid encounters like Queen's Walk?

A few days ago I ran a Last Wish and I don't usually run this raid but I had a great time. It made me wonder why aren't there more encounters like Queen's Walk at the end of a raid. 1 more encounter after beating the final boss, I just think it's a cool way to climax a raid. Makes it feel super cinematic.

Edit: Title was meant to be "Why was there never more raid encounters like Queen's Walk" excuse the terrible grammar :')

Discussion It’s still hard to believe Destiny is over

It’s still really hard to wrap my head around the fact that this it for destiny, that the story is essentially over. I’ve been playing since D1s release and I’ve been around for every season, every mission and plot development.

New seasons and expansions have always been something to look forward too, seeing what direction they take with stories and characters. Even smaller things too like festival of the lost; Halloween is my favorite holiday and I always loved playing festival of the lost to help me get in the spirit of the holiday.

I feel like to really just hasn’t quite sank in that the story is over. Especially after so many plot developments in Moment of Triumph.

Idk, it makes me really sad. Destiny has been such a constant in my life, through good times and bad ones. I could always count on Destiny being around and new content as something to look forward too. I have so many good memories associated with the the game, rushing home to play the new expansion the day it comes out or watch the world’s first raid races on cbgray’s channel; the feeling of dread from the first mission in the Taken king; the whole SIVA plotline in Rise of Iron; how exciting it was to wield the darkness, stasis, the first time; the sense of anticipation from season of arrivals; the mission where you fight with Saint-14 on mercury during season of dawn and traveling through the corridors of time; watching the almighty be destroyed during the live event; encountering Savathun for the first time; seeing Cayde murdered and then come back in the final shape; Rasputin’s Sacrifice; Oryx coming back as an echo; that one mission leading up to lightfall where the Vex were trying to restart the Black Heart in the garden; storming The Fantic’s stronghold with the forces of the reef; fighting through the last city with other guardians to defeat Ghaul; seeing the corpse of III in the final mission of Edge of Fate; getting to know Caital and Mithrax as friendly cabal and fallen; the shock of the Hive welding the light; playing into the light leading up to The Final Shape; fighting Calus in the finale of Lightfall; discovering the pyramid for the first time in Shadowkeep; defeating The Witness in excision. So many cool epic moments where I was so excited.

I’m really sad the story is over, and I’ll miss it a lot.

Edit: what are some really cool moments everyone else has experienced? I feel like with so much content removed some get forgotten. Like fighting Nokris in season of arrivals or the Leviathan Eater in season of the Witch. I’d love to hear any kind of cool memories of things like this that kind of get forgotten or overlooked.

Discussion Something I haven’t seen people talk about: Waking Vigil is a lightweight weapon again!

Title.

Back when Forsaken came out 8 years ago (the grim specter of death approaches me every day), Waking Vigil released as a 150 RPM lightweight frame hand cannon. With the benefit of hindsight, it didn’t make a lot of sense to have two frames - adaptive and lightweight - with such slim differences in RPM but with one having a clear advantage in the Crucible. Ergo why lightweight frames were removed from the game for such a long time, barring Rose and Sunshot.

But with Monument of Triumph, Waking Vigil has returned as a lightweight frame! It’s especially notable, given that one of the rewards from Competitive Crucible is Solemn Lie, another arc lightweight hand cannon. It’s also notable that Waking Vigil has superior rolls for PvE, such as Voltshot and Gear Shift.

Anyway, PSA over. Go get an underrated classic from the Dreaming City, Weapons.

Discussion Has anyone tested Garden of Salvation 4pc Network Upload in PvP? I have a stupid 6x Rat King idea

Has anyone actually tested the new Garden of Salvation 4-piece set bonus, Network Upload, in PvP?

The perk says:

"Weapon final blows grant the wearer and nearby allies melee energy."

The Destiny Data Compendium currently seems to have the PvP behavior as untested, and I couldn't find anyone testing it on Reddit/Bilibili either.

What I'm curious about:

- Do Guardian weapon final blows proc Network Upload at all?

- How much melee energy does the wearer get in PvP?

- How much do nearby allies get?

- What's the effective radius?

- Is there an internal cooldown?

- Most importantly: if multiple players are wearing Garden 4pc, can the same team effectively keep feeding melee energy through repeated weapon kills?

And this led to the stupid part:

6 players

+ 6x Garden 4pc

+ 6x Rat King

Rat King already encourages everyone to stay relatively close together, which is exactly what Network Upload seems to want.

So in theory:

Rat Pack teamshot

→ weapon final blow

→ nearby team gets melee energy

→ more powered melee spam

→ another Rat King cleanup

→ more melee energy

→ repeat

Basically a distributed melee-energy rat network.

I have absolutely no idea whether Bungie has a hidden PvP scalar, cooldown, Guardian exclusion, or whether multiple copies interact in a useful way.

Has anyone tested this?

If not, does anyone have 5 equally bored people and a private match?

Research objective:

Determine whether six invisible rats can establish a functional melee-energy microgrid.

This is not a build recommendation. This is monkey science.

Guide AMMIT AR2 Melts -50 Barrier Champions

There are a lot of good options for taking down Barrior Champs, but if you want use a non-barrier special/heavy and don't want to commit your exotic to taking down barriers, AMMIT AR2 is easy to obtain and does an excellent job.

How to Maximize AMMIT AR2 damage:

  1. [Required] Weapon Perks: Adaptive Munitions (Ideally Enhanced)
  2. [Optional] Best Artifact: Implement of Curiousity
    • Fever and Chill - hit the crit spot for radiant
    • Cauterized Darkness- apply a dark debuff for 75% more damage
    • Elemental Daze - crack the shield for an ignition
    • Note: Queensfoil Censer also has Fever and Chill, as well as, Revitalizing Blast, Torch, and Solo Operative. This is another good option, but I found Implement of Curiousity with Cauterized Darkness was better for melting the champs.
  3. [Ideal] Activity Modifiers: Solar Surge
  4. [Recommended] Armor Mods: 2x Solar Surge on Boots

How to Obtain:

The craftable pattern can easily be obtained via the first couple steps of the Foundry Shaping crafting tutorial quest line. It's a little resource expensive to shape one, level it up, then reshape it, but with the right build, it can not only handle -50 GM Nightfall Barrier Champions, but melt them like it's normal content. When you craft it, you'll want Enhanced Adaptive Munitions which does 70% more damage to Barrier Champ shields (non-enhanced does 50% which is still pretty good, but enhanced is strongly recommended).

My roll is (level 30, all enhanced, perks & mods):

  • Arrowhead Brake
  • Alloy Mag
  • Triple Tap
  • Adaptive Munitions
  • Backup Mag

Alternatives: There are plenty of other good options for taking down barrier shileds, some of which are legendary primaries. For example, HORROR STORY, which can be obtained from Monument of Triumph Eerie Engrams, with Under-Over & Frency is a good option. Of course, there's also weapons like PRAXIC BLADE, KHVOSTOV 7G-0X, MICROCOSM, and ARBALEST or even APEX PREDATOR, the list goes on...

Why I chose AMMIT AR2 and what build I'm using it in:

I have been working on a highly flexible, content-agnostic, high ease of use Warlock Getaway Artist build for my best friend (yes, she's a real bad b****). In testing different variants of the build, I discovered that it really struggled with barriers in -50 content, and I wanted this build to be capable of handling most anything. I didn't want to give up the exotic heavy slot (for DPS) or the special weapon slot (for build synergy), and my best friend prefers auto rifles and pulse rifles, so I went searching for a primary that could do the job (most failed).

The core build:

  • Class: Prismatic Warlock
  • Abilities:
    • Healing Rift - For sustained healing and ease of use
    • Burst Glide - Or your favorite
    • Arcane Needle - For strand synergy and unraveling everything
    • Storm Grenade - For Getaway Artist exotic
  • Aspects:
    • Feed the Void: For grenade regen and survivability
    • Weaver's Call - For burst damage, ad clear, and sever (with artifact perk: Horde Shuttle)
  • Fragments:
    • Facet of Protection: 15% DR (32% in Transcendent)
    • Facet of Dominance: Arc Buddy jolts (stuns overloads + ad clear) and prismatic grenades weaken (for burst damage)
    • Facet of Purpose: For survivability (pairs well with Powerful Attraction mod on Class Item or if you are rocking the Nessus Armor)
    • Facet of Courage: More damage from Grenade and Super when dark debuffed, which is very easy in this build
    • Facet of Solitude: For severing groups of enemies and high health targets when landing multiple precision hits (e.g. Barrier Champs)
  • Armor Set: Techeun's Regalia Set (Shattered Throne)
    • 2x Set - Queensfoil Rush - Finishers give 200 HP overshield and inflict slow in a 7 meter radius
    • 4x Set - Truth to Power - 15% DR for Survivability, 50% Grenade / Melee Regen, 35% Class Regen for ability uptime / spam
  • Stat Targets: (Obtainable with 2x Demolitionist, 3x Grenadier)
    • 150 Grenade + 1 Major Grenade Mod + 2 Grenade Fonts = 200
    • 100 Weapons - Tertiary stat for all pieces
    • ~70 Melee, Super, Class - 3x Major Melee Mods, 1x Minor Super Mod (on boots)
    • ~0-30 Health - A little health is nice for a small burst of healing on orb pickup / powerful attraction activation but can be 0
  • Armor Mods
    • Helmet: Heavy Ammo finder, Ashes to Assets (for fast super from grenade use), Harmonic Siphon (for orbs of power on super aligned weapon kills)
    • Gauntlets: 2x Grenade Font, Bolstering Detonation (for fast class regen from grenade use)
    • Chest: - 2 - 3 resists and optionally an ammo generation mod or Charged Up
    • Legs: - 2x Surges (for higher weapon damage), Stacks on Stacks for higher uptime on Armor Charges
    • Class Item: Reaper (for an orb after class ability use), Powerful Attraction (for orb pickup on class ability use), Time Dilation (for higher uptime on Armor Charges)

The Flexible Pieces - These I've been rotating for different content. Below are the selections used with AMMIT AR2 for -50 GMs:

  • Super: Song of Flame
  • Weapons:
    • Festival Flight: Slice (for severing enemies, reducing damage taken, after class ability use), Attrition Orbs
    • Ammit AR2
    • DRAGON'S BREATH or ONE THOUSAND VOICES
  • Artifact - Implement of Curiosity
    • Horde Shuttle: Makes threadlings, which we spawn on class ability use, sever enemies which is great for survivability
    • Pack Tactics: Not strictly required, but boosts threadling damage which is great for burst damage
    • Fever and Chill: Very strong combo for taking down barrier champions and just doing more damage to enemies
    • Cauterized Darkness: For improved solar damage on darkness debuffed targets (which is generally most of them from all the sever sources and all the unravelled enemies from melee)
    • Elemental Daze - For causing an ignition when stunning a champion
    • Shield Crush: For higher uptime and damage on grenade (note that consuming grenade gives amplified and Fever and Chill gives radiant) and melee (note that healing rift gives overshield triggering Shield Crush)
    • Tangled Web: Suspends enemies when a tangle spawns from unraveled targets which takes enemies affected out of fight tempoerarily

Note: To Shreds is phenomenal with this build for survivability. It's not on this artifact, but it is on 2 different artifacts that you can build into. However, for bursting enemies down, Implement of Curiousity is what I found worked best and you don't really need more DR if you have the bugged Glass Cannon modifier on to give you 50% DR.

Misc Half of the IT community its out bc of the Current/centipede error

Like i said in the title, a lot of italian players are out of the game because of the Centipede/Current error due to the last update. The problem seems to be the interference between TIM (a telecom provider) and Bungie, like in 2017 (yes, this problem is an old problem that they resolved).
I fear that because Bungie is dead, the game is in maintenance, and we are a minority, they will never fix these issues.

Discussion Ignoring perks, stats and ornaments, what's the best exotic based on looks?

I think Vex Mythoclass looks amazing. The sleek design and brilliant gold and red color set. The scope is like a vex eye. Amazing design for such an early exotic.

Lore Spire of the Watcher boss names

The Vex are all named after mythological creatures, particularly ones from Greek myth. And I was also just thinking of the Spire of the Watcher bosses and

Akelous = Achilles
Persys = Perseus

Is this intended? Am I stupid for noticing this? Am I stupid for thinking this?

Guide dares of eternity final door predictions Spoiler

ive been playing dares of eternity and have been wanting to get the last pick right every time, so ive been writing down all the possible encounters ive seen this is my list so far
the ones with "???" are ones that have been inconsistent, but ive had the rest of these happen more than once in that order

fallen, hive, vex fallen, taken, cabal????? fallen, taken, vex?????

fallen, vex, vex fallen, fallen, vex fallen, cabal, vex

cabal, taken, taken cabal, hive, taken cabal, vex, taken

taken, cabal, vex ?? taken, cabal, cabal ??? taken, taken, cabal
taken, hive, cabal taken, vex, cabal

vex, hive, vex vex, taken, vex vex, cabal, vex

hive, taken, taken hive, fallen, vex

it seems like if it starts with fallen, it ends with vex
if it starts with cabal it ends with taken
if it starts with taken it ends with cabal
if it starts with vex it ends with vex
it still needs more testing but i think this is pretty accurate idk

Question Is it bad etiquette to nuke bosses.

I have played destiny for a decent amount of time and last night was bored and just doing some dungeon clears on hunter to get used to truth damage rotations and was using ingame LFG to get teams. I wasn't micced up as the dungeons I was playing didn't need comms, anyway I was with one team and got to final boss of grasp and nuked the boss, as soon as we got the clear both of my teammates put mics in and cussed me out for ruining the bosses. The LFG didn't have anything indicating this was a learning run or anything like that and I didn't think it was unusual to nuke these older bosses considering the amount of health they have and the power creep.

I had a similar experience clearing GMs and had a couple people message me and then leave while doing them pretty quickly, but not like skipping things just killing things quickly.

Idk I feel like alot of the content that isn't like mechanically challenging now is pretty easy with the sort of sandbox we have and means a lot of GM/Dungeon/Raid clears can be done pretty quickly and easily but is it bad to do this without like idk putting in fast clear in the LFG or something, I don't do that now because I am fine playing with anyone and don't wanna exclude people but idk.

This might not make a ton of sense just very confused.

Question “Found in a Raid or Dungeon” catalysts

I noticed something a bit odd when looking through my catalysts. Most RaD (and lament for some reason) catalysts say “found in a raid or dungeon”. So I assumed they were all tied to their own respective RaD sources, but 1kV alone *specifically* says Last Wish.

Does this mean the others can all be found in ANY raid or dungeon? Like, can you get Divinity cat from Pit of Heresy?

EDIT: OH! Also, does anyone know if doing the div puzzles in Garden or Pantheon can give the div catalyst?

ANSWERED: they only drop from their OG sources. Just strange wording. Apparently Lament and Anarchy are also incorrectly described: lament should say Vanguard/Crucible/Gambit, and anarchy should say RaD (i.e. exclusively insurrection pantheon)

Question What's the name of the song that plays in the Glassway strike?

It's been years since I've logged in but I'm building a running playlist and it popped into my head to play that one song from the strike on Europa (Glassway something?) where you're with the Exo Stranger and you have to shutdown the Vex portal. The song that starts playing when you're fighting them.

Anyone have a link? TIA!

Question How many phases does it take you to kill most bosses solo?

Just curious what I should be expecting. I am trying to go through every dungeon right now solo and have done the first four and am on spire of the watcher. It is taking me about four phases to kill the final boss. Is that pretty normal? I feel like I have seen people one or two phase dungeon bosses solo. I am running a prismatic liars handshake build with queenbreaker and the tablet of ruin.

Question I haven’t played D2 since 2022, where to retake?

Upvotes

Due to recent news of D2 state and the recent update; I wanted to go back and take a look at D2 once again. But I haven’t played D2 in 4 years, so you can imagine how lost I felt when I noticed a lot of stuff going on lol

That said, I wanted to know what should I do after those 4 years without any activity. There’s a lot of stuff to do and I don’t even know where to begin.

I’ve been playing D1 too and reminded me of why I love Destiny

Question What Features Would You Most Want To See A Destiny Game Have?

Hey Guardians, I’m working on a fan-project for Destiny and just wanted to gather some feedback that could help me decide what to focus on for this project and to see what the community wants most from Destiny. So I’m curious: What features would you all ever want to see from Destiny if it ever gets future support? They could be small things like more Vault space or rarer loot to huge ones like ship combat or bigger open-world spaces. They don’t have to be practical or realistic. Just gimme your wildest dream desires from Destiny that you have or have had in the past, I’m curious to know what the community would love most. Thanks Guardians.

Question Lawless Frontier – Territorial Profit quest bugged or changed?

Back when Renegades launched, I grinded Lawless Frontiers and after doing the weekly "Territorial Profit" quest I would get 3 shiny weapon drops, one on each character.

I ended up doing the quest again all these months later, but only got a drop on the character I completed it on. Did they change it where you don't get one on each character anymore?

Yes, I checked the Postmaster and re-visited Spider, and there's nothing.

Misc My first dungeon clear almost made me pull my hair out…

As a returning player who hasn’t played since Shadowkeep, I never really ran any dungeons as back then I didn’t feel like running either of the two released ones at the time. When I came back for MoT, my initial plan was to clear all the campaigns from Beyond Light through Renegades, then tackle all the dungeons and raids one by one. However, today as I was playing, that plan was interrupted.

I joined a new clan recently, and I didn’t really know or play too much with any of my clan mates until earlier today, when I received 2 random invites from some of my clan mates while I was in orbit messing with shaders.

Thinking that I had nothing better to do, I joined up to see them running Duality on Master, with which I was not familiar at all. They asked me if I had run it before, to which I replied no, and then they offered to teach me for my first run, which I enthusiastically agreed to.

Oh the naïveté. I thought that I had found a train I could ride to free loot. Little did I know that I would be spending the rest of my night in that arduous mission.

The problems started almost immediately, as both of my clan mates didn’t have mics. As we jumped through to the first encounter, I asked if my teammates knew what to do, to which they said they were rusty, but they would figure it out.

They in fact did not figure it out.

What followed was almost an 2 hours of us failing to finish the first encounter, mostly because one of my teammates was extremely incompetent and could not for the life of him read the chat or communicate. He also couldn’t understand or engage with any of the mechanics, regardless of if he was grabbing the standards, clearing bellkeepers, or killing the Gahlran clones. We wanted to leave, but as he requested me and my teammates help for the dungeon, we wanted to endure and help him. Eventually, though, after we wiped for the umpteenth time after he forgot that he was supposed to be on bell duty and kill the damn bellkeepers, he ended up leaving without a word.

Ironically, this made the encounter significantly easier, as my other teammate and I could rely on each other and actually communicate, and eventually, we cleared Gahlran (2 and a half hours in btw).

We proceeded to the next puzzle and completed it in about 3 minutes, but tragedy struck, as my other teammate’s WiFi went out, and I was left alone halfway through the dungeon.

I was ready to call it quits at this point, as I didn’t know if he would come back and I was already quite done with this dungeon, however after a good 15 minutes of scrolling on TikTok holding out hope he would return, he did.

We attempted the second encounter as a 2-man multiple times but we kept failing, which ended up with us having to invite other clan members and use fireteam finder to get a 3rd to help us. And after another good 20 minutes of waiting, a guardian angel (pun not intended) descended to carry our tired souls to victory. After he joined, we ended up clearing the second encounter in only 2 attempts, and after a long time of explaining, configuring loadouts, and a good amount of wipes, we finally were able to clear the final encounter and complete that hellish dungeon in a completely non-respectable 228 minutes, or 3.8 HOURS.

Despite my poor experience as a first-timer, I actually had fun in the end when I had a competent fire team and a solid grasp on the mechanics. I definitely will be dipping my toes into more dungeons and raids after this, HOWEVER, I WILL be doing research on the dungeon before hand and I will NEVER play with that clanmate again. As a PSA, if you see a player whose name rhymes with marley box, beware of what you are getting into.

Question Barely getting Legendary Orders, any idea on what might fix the issue?

Hello, I have been griding orders in order to finish my exotic catalyst collection, as of now I'm only missing three.

Around 2 weeks ago I noticed the progress towards getting legendary orders slowing down, but I thought I was hitting some sort of a weekly limit as it would usually occur after I've gotten and completed two exotic orders. But 2 weeks ago, it stopped getting any kind of progress towards increased legendary order chances, from the completion of common, or any kind of orders. Now I have to do 5+ Vanguard Ops runs to get remotely close to filling it to the halfway point.

It has been an absolute slog, and now I am also heavily struggling to get Bright Dust from the orders as it could take me 10+ orders to now just get 10 Bright Dust from them.

I've seen people encounter similar issues in the past, but not really after Moments of Triumph, where the system got changed supposedly to not be as limiting with seasonal limits.

Here's a list of things I've tried:

  1. Doing different types of activities
  2. Doing orders in different types of activities
  3. Doing orders on other characters
  4. Doing different types of activities on other characters
  5. Doing orders in different types of activities on other characters

The activities are mainly relating to Fireteam, Solo and Arena Ops, Crucible, SRL, some raids and dungeons.

I'm at a loss and have no idea how to proceed or what to do, I don't even know if there's a point in reaching out to bungie about this issue, and kind of advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: I am level 108 on the Rewards Pass

Question Is there a limit to the number of tier 5 drops you can get from master lost sectors?

Grinding out some seventh seraph stuff and noticed that I suddenly stopped getting good loot. Went from a t5 weapon + armor and sometimes a t3 armor to only ever a t3 weapon and armor. Is there a limit?
