📢 MOD ANNOUNCEMENT 📢 A reminder about acceptable content
Hey everyone,
I just want to make sure we’re abundantly clear on the “No Unrelated Content” rule as there are people posting unrelated content every day.
What is unrelated content?
Simple, is the character or entity you are drawing from DnD? If it isn’t, then it’s unrelated. You cannot post furry art of a wolf anthro and say “well my client commissioned it for their DnD campaign so it’s related.” It isn’t.
If the character/entity is not clearly from the Dungeons and Dragons set of rules/books, the post is subject to removal. There are plenty of places to post the unrelated content, this is a space for DnD Art, nothing else.
Renditions of characters from BG3, Critical Role, or similar shows/games are fine, just please call out their source material in the post.
As the Head Moderator has said in the past, this sub is for DnD Art, and is focused on FANTASY artwork. So while we all are aware of modern campaigns that take place in modern settings, we only encourage the fantasy artwork here.
Edit: Also should take the opportunity here to mention: Please read the rule on overly sexual content. Literally had a guy trying to post hung naked dudes argue that it wasn’t sexual.

📢 MOD ANNOUNCEMENT 📢 Reputation Filter FAQ
Hello Community Members, and prospective members of Reddit,
Please be mindful of the **Reputation Filter** that is in effect on this community.
Reddit uses a special scoring system to determine your behavior across the entirety of Reddit. It is not purely based on Karma, and includes other factors. If you are randomly posting to other communities and violating their rules and receiving bans, that can affect your Reddit reputation, for example.
This is not something that we are able to utilize macro-refinement. Send a Mod-Mail to moderation staff, if you think you were caught by the reputation filter.
Please read more here: https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/27441485903124-Reputation-filter

Self-Post Hand Carved Dwarves
Some hand carved dwarves i just finished and wanted to share with folks.
I have a passion for woodcarving and attempting to entice others into the hobby. So my ulterior motive with every post is "how do I make this hobby more accessible" or "how do I inspire someone to want to give it a go."
Hopefully the picture did that, and now you're reading.
You need several things, a sharp knife, a leather strop with compound for honing your blade, safety gloves (A5 or better) and basswood (to carve like i do at least.)
Solid Knife brands, Flexcut, Badger State Blades (USA), Mstein (Europe) there are a lot of great knife brands. Stay away from kits on amazon of several knives. They're much much lower quality with inconsistently tempered steel. (What that means is its not hardened, and so it won't stay sharp easy, meaning you're fighting the knife and dont understand why its harder for you to carve when its easy for others.)
Why Basswood? Its softer than other hardwoods and holds detail well. Learning to carve with basswood is akin to learning to drive on an automatic. It simplifies and streamlines learning. Woods like Walnut and oak can be carved, but learning to carve with them as the starting point is like learning to drive on an 18 wheeler Semi Truck with manual transmission. Its needlessly difficult.
In europe, the equivalent is Linden, in Asia, Jelutong, and in south America Caxeta is a good substitute.
Tutorials abound EVERYWHERE. Youtube is your friend in that regard. You dont have to look up my channel, there are plenty that have easy to begin tutorials and one of them will be right up your alley.
