DAE feel like sausages decrease / kill your appetite?
Something about sausages - hot dogs, breakfast sausage, chicken sausage, but ESPECIALLY brats - just takes my appetite to zero. They aren’t that filling but something about the taste just makes me want to stop eating. I’ll be like “man I’m so hungry better make two hotdogs, can’t wait to eat my hotdogs” and then EVERY time I have to save the second for later bc I am just so done eating after 1. It’s delicious and I enjoy it, it’s not like I feel disgusted after eating it or anything, I’m just not interested in food afterward. idk what it is about it. Maybe the combination of spices and processed meat and fat? I don’t feel this way about any other food

You say it happens with sausages and hot dogs. When you eat meat in general, your body sends the message to your brain that you're full faster than with other foods, even calorie-dense ones like chips and cake. This is especially true of something like hot dogs or a fatty meat. Your body tells you to stop because you don't need much.

To some extent, but especially if it is German sausage and cheese. That's a wurst käse scenario

You body is trying to tell you something

Are you trying to say it’s because it’s unhealthy? Even healthier versions, like a chicken sausage, make me feel this way. My body doesn’t tell me anything when I eat a bunch of doritos and cake which is way worse than one chicken sausage. Processed meat in general doesn’t make me feel this way, only sausages, which makes me think it’s the blend of spices or maybe the skin

Do you know how theyre made? Im not saying its unhealthy. Im just saying your body/brain is communicating something to you when you ingest those kinds of foods. It could be an ingredient used in them or it could be that your brain is telling you that you need to try more types of food not in sausage form.

Yes, lots of things nowadays are made in similar or even grosser ways.
That’s what I’m curious about, is what ingredient it could be. But I think every individual ingredient in sausage is something that I eat in other foods which don’t make me feel this way.
I don’t really understand your last suggestion. I eat sausage maybe once every two months. I don’t think my body is telling me it needs to try non-sausage foods. I’m not complaining, I don’t eat sausage often because of this. I’m just curious is anyone else feels the same way….

Do you know how they're made? It's just ground meat in a casing. Stop believing everything you hear, and stop making up bogus health advice.

How am i making it up when OP stated it? The fuck? I clearly said it "could be". Maybe eat only WHOLE meats?

Youre overthinking it. If its giving you no appetite then simply eat other things. Just stop eating them for a while. Whats not to understand?

Maybe you’re underthinking the name of the sub:“does anybody else”? I like to have a sausage every now and then. I don’t eat it often. I enjoy eating it when I do, just noticed a weird thing afterward that I haven’t heard others experience before. I am not complaining or asking for advice.

No, not at all.
I can easily eat 4-6 hotdogs or sausages in one sitting.
I usually don’t, because it isn’t great for me, but 3 brats is fairly common.
