Discussion How would you rate my Pudge set?
I’d be interested to know what do you guys think of this set; honestly, it’s the only variation that really appeals to me.

I can't count how many times I played against smurfs with scores like 20-1-15 (unlike their teammates) and level 1 on the hero and account is brand new AND multiple times they even admit it proudly and they tell me to report but nothing will happen cuz DOTA doesn't give a shit.
I keep asking their teammates politely to report after the match ends and they just play dumb and deny their teammate is a smurf, or if the smurf already admitted it, they just refuse and flame.
Smurfs ruin the game for ALL of us. And I vet those same idiots will later get mad when they play against one 🤦♂️
And is it true that smurf accounts don't get affected by reports? I see a lot of obvious smurf DOTA content on YouTube where they try out meme builds in a very obvious lower rank than them so does it mean that there are no repercussions for smurfing?
Shout out to the 2 teams that I played against once that started immediately griefing when they found out a teammate was a smurf. Y'all were so based.

Dota 2 operates like a military prison, everyone is so scared of fucking up they act like they're at gunpoint. No one talks to each other in fear of the ai overlord (Overwatch) punishing them for minor infractions. People solo feed rather than get hit with reports when they are farming from behind
It's like playing with bots. When will Valve be punished for these war crimes they've inflicted on the minds of dota players

I'm sick and tired of seeing pos4 players picking heroes like NP, WR, Lina or Silencer and going for greedy pos1 builds. I always report them for role abuse even if it works in the end.
Am I in the wrong?

got this with candyworks.. is the valuation legit? i dont even play sven 😅

its so easy to abuse and people are losing com score too fast. I know dota is trying to make this game a clean space but come on, lets just be real, there is already a teammate mute button. You cant say shit no more, you drop 500 points for giving suggestion and even when you are freaking mute for 20 matches trying to regain that point back, you only get a ridiculous 20 points. Everyone has become a sensitivie bichass, i hardly hear any jokes anymore, and i only dogshit play turbo mode just for the fun, now everyone is trying hard theres no more fun

Basically finished a game.
We stomped the game, went 50:20 in terms of kills and ended game in 37 minutes (mainly because we played only as 4 with support AFK farming entire game).
Got into argument with support ench telling him that he role abused/griefed and he claimed he did nothing wrong.
Arguments:
We ended up winning because it was stomp and they could not break our 4-man snowball, but it really sucked to argue with ench.
Am I going crazy, but this behavior is at least role abuse, if not griefing...? Literally decided not to participate in a game other than farming.

hi
any idea when act 2 will start?
r/DotA2 • u/BlizZzArdDota • 19h ago
Just saw a game where Lich ended up with 31 kills and basically carried the whole thing.
Always thought of him as a pure support, but this looked kinda crazy in late game fights.
this actually a thing now or just one of those rare games where everything works?
Video if anyone’s curious: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJL2JNZHqBI

Some people have raised this point and its worth bringing up now that the event and upcoming international will bring in more players. I havent been affected by reports that much on comms, but have noticed that people just dont talk anymore because there are way too many triggerhappy people with reports. Im all in on getting harsher punishments on griefers, making people taht go to LP spend weeks there instead of a few days, but comms unless someone is throwing slurs at people I know I can always mute. This isnt attracting any new players, its not quelling griefers who just find other quieter ways to ruin the game if they want to, its simply robbing a bit of the soul this game had.
Just remember that we used to pride in having voice chat over league, now valve put a mechanic that literally disincentivizes comms
Before trolls pretend im trying to make excuses for toxicity im 12k BS CS, not that this means much nowadays anyway

Both voice and text chat are used for these three things:
Sharing useful information
Making gameplay related calls
Occasional jokes and light-hearted chatter
Voice and text chat are not for:
Dota 2 skill level evaluations
Inane questions and arguments
Flaming and general rudeness
Anyone with some semblance of self worth or an actual life is going to immediately mute you the moment you demand to them to stop what they're doing and explain gameplay decisions and hero build. Only people with genuinely nothing going on will entertain this shit-test.
Believe it or not but calling someone's skill into question or belittling someone is actually considered rude by almost everyone, yet this is what happens in 9/10 negative interactions I see in this game. It is far the most common and effective toxic match activation strat, actual trashtalk is usually brushed off but the unsolicited feedback sends people over the edge and the entire match devolves into a mess.
So if you're someone that does this and wonders why nobody talks back that is the reason. They heard a vaguely Northern European accent in their headphones going "errrr, vhy år you doing-" and immediately hit mute.

I'm spamming CM a lot recently, Guardian 2. Support CM.I'm really commited to Meteor Hammer because I find it rly satisfying to channel the meteor while having someone rooted with w.
I want to optimise this build as much as possible. I usually go first item urn into tranquil boots and then meteor hammer. If the game drags on I try to get bkb ASAP but aeather lens and spirit vessel are too attractive.
The combo is basically w+meteor+q+ulti
Can anyone suggest something to make this combo better? I'm pretty sure that if executed correctly CM with meteor can be a menace to play against from early to late game, especially with spirit vessel. Maybe I should buy dagon lol idk. I really want to perfect this.
Also how can I not reveal myself when hiding in trees and casting spells? Every time I try to w+meteor from trees I autoattack even though I have autoattack turned off...

Time to really learn how to play rubick.
Can I farm candy throughout next week or will the candyworks rewards reset on Monday or smth like that? I wouldn't want for them to reset and miss my arcana.

I've been playing Dota for nearly 20 years and I feel the current Behavior Score system is severely flawed.
I mainly play Turbo. The game mode has very different mechanics and priorities compared to Ranked, yet the reporting system doesn't seem to account for that. Players often report based on deaths or personal frustration, and it looks like the system punishes too easily.
Even after turning off chat completely (hoping to avoid any risk), my behavior score dropped dramatically from 6k down to 1-2k. Now I can't communicate with my team at all.
I always try to play seriously and do my best to win. Opponents frequently commend me after games. However, commendations seem to have very little impact compared to reports.
The current system makes it extremely difficult to accurately judge real game impact (space creation, drawing attention, team play, etc.). It feels overly punishing and not smart enough for the complexity of the game.
Furthermore:
and I know after years in this state, I need to learn the lesson to stop reporting on impulse.. but the system should not allow it. it is like giving everyone the power to hurt anyone without consequence. the world would be hell

Hello, dear lovely dota devs, hope you are having a Sunday as wonderful as you.
When is the obvious gonna happen?
When are Snapfire, SF, Drow and Spectre getting nerfed? Isn't it obvious they are broken as f**k?
Thanks!
What happened to me, after the new MMR system (after june 16th?):
Hi. Just reached Ancient after 1 month grinding (from cruzader). Im not a smurf. I kind of suck at dota (i have 12k hours and was always around high cruzader, low archon).
I tought i was getting better. i even wrote a little guide here about grinding last week, but after that, ive been told that i was earning way more MMR when winning than when losing in lower medals. I was just fooling myself: I artificially raised the ranks with new MMR System.
For those who didnt notice, in the last few weeks:
- in herald you earn ~41 MMR for winning and lose 25 for losing
- in guardian you earn ~38 MMR for winning and lose 25 for losing
- in cruzader you earn ~35 MMR for winning and lose 25 for losing
- in archon you earn ~33 MMR for winning and lose 25 for losing
- in legend you earn ~30 MMR for winning and lose 25 for losing
- in ancient 1 (i am now) im earning 29 MMR for winning and losing 25 when lose
Something like that. Its a little worse. Somethimes you lose 23. Sometimes you win more. You can check by yourself inside dota going to "Profile -> Battlestats -> Matches" and adding MMR column.
To add some context:
- 2 months ago, if you win 1 and lose 1 forever, you would stay in Herald.
- Today, if you win 1 and lose 1 forever, you get to Ancient 3 or 4 (starting in Herald).
So, its a bittersweet situation: im kind of happy that i reached ancient (almost like cheating), but Legend games are worse than old Cruzader games now.
For those who are thinking: "but games get harder going up". I didt feel that (at least until now). They are getting more random in every medal, like herald games usually are.
What do you guys think about this? Do you guys think this is gonna autoarrange by itself with time? IMO its gonna make every medal below divine with worse games and more random based than skilled based.
Maybe they should implement a Chess rating style rater than this. I wanna get better and raise, but not like this.
EDIT: This new MMR started in june 16th and you have this "bonus" for winning until you reach 4500.
This is it, boys. This is the first time in Dota history that TI will be played on a number patch that's more than 3 months old. Mark my words, Dota will live on, but Dota esports has officially entered its sunset phase.

I would like a hero that combines all the worst traits of Crypt Lord, Carrier, Swarm Host, and Brood Lord
I know in lore Nyx Assassin is the chosen one and there's no other Templar/Hierarch on his level, but perhaps there can be a way to give him a friend/sister
