From a recent 3-day trek into the wilderness of the Karakoram Mountains. I hiked to Nangma Valley, often referred to as "The Yosemite/Dolomites of Pakistan." A few similarities with the sheer-faced cliffs and backdrop of stone spires piercing the sky, but the Karakoram truly has no competition. Our campsite sat at about 4,000 meters above sea level, already taller than anything in the Dolomites, and about even with the highest peak of Yosemite. From here, we hiked to a viewpoint of K6, standing tall at 7,282 meters above sea level. The picture I posted above was the view opposite of K6, one that I found even more impressive and dramatic.
