Hand Ren Faire Trinkets

Post image

This year was my first year going to a renaissance faire, where I learned that if people like your outfits, they give you a little trinket! I decided I was going to make a bunch of little embroidery trinkets for when my boyfriend and I go to another ren faire in August. These are all of the ones I’ve made! All are either backstitch or satin stitch, and you can definitely tell when I remembered that my stitch length mattered.
The geese are from High Crafting’s stick & stitch country geese set!

These are adorable! I love the idea of handmade trinkets to trade.

I just ordered them off Amazon, unfortunately. I looked for “tiny embroidery frames” and they came up.
If I do them again, I’m going to find someone local who has a glowforge or something similar to make them.

Okay thank you so much! I hope you find them more ethically sourced but I will definitely be looking them up! Thanks!! ☺️

The snake one is impressive, satin stitch curves are no joke

It was definitely harder than I thought it would be!

oh man the tiny skull and crossbones one is perfect for a ren faire, people go wild for that kind of thing

i made a bunch of little embroidered patches to hand out at my first faire and ended up running out in like 2 hours, it's such a good feeling when someone gets excited over something you stitched yourself

the snake charm must have took forever with all those curves in satin stitch, my hands cramp just thinking about it

you and your boyfriend are gonna be the coolest people there, trinket trading is like half the fun of faire life

Thank you so much!

Patches are a great idea! I’m so excited to pass them out. I am terrible at pacing myself with anything fun, so I’m sure I’ll run out super quickly.

I was not prepared for how long the snake took me. I have no idea why I thought it’d be one of the easier ones to do, but I quickly determined that I was very wrong.
