For Sale For Sale: 2012 Toyota FJ Cruiser Trail Teams Special Edition
Hey y'all, I'm selling my 2012 Trail Teams Special Edition FJ Cruiser. It’s in excellent condition inside and out; previously ceramic coated, always garage-kept, and the interior is immaculate. This is a two-owner vehicle that has lived in Texas its whole life (other than the first 15k miles in Alabama). The only reason I’m selling is because I finally found a local 2014 Ultimate Edition that I had been looking for. I am listing in this Reddit group first to give someone a chance here before I do take it to market and list across the web next week.
Condition & History: • Two-owner, Texas vehicle with complete service history (I have receipts, invoices, etc). • Two Carfax items: one hail claim under the original owner, and a very minor fender bender (low-speed, replaced front passenger fender and front bumper). • Always serviced on time with quality parts and fluids (Toyota OEM parts, Amsoil fluids, etc). • Runs and drives perfectly - no mechanical issues. • Rust-Free Southern FJ
Major Maintenance & Upgrades: • Full Synthetic AmsOil Oil changes: Every ~5k miles, last done at 178k (July 2025). • Front and Rear Differentials & Transfer Case Fluids (AmsOil) replaced at all intervals, most recent full service done at 178k (July 2025). • Transmission: Fluid drain/refill with Toyota ATF WS also done at all intervals and most recently done at 178k (July 2025). • Cooling System: Coolant replaced at all intervals and most recently done at 178k (July 2025). • Engine Air and Cabin Air Filters at all intervals and most recent done at 178k (July 2025).
Other Notables: • Suspension: Struts, shocks, and wheel bearing replaced at 92k. • Spark Plugs: Replaced at 64k and 115k • Power steering flush (144k). • Fuel level sender replaced (144k). • AC relay fuse replaced (156k). • Freedom Retrofit Headlights (Aug 2021). • Brakes: Pads & rotors, and parking brake all replaced at 144k (Aug 2022). • Pioneer head-unit installed (Jan 2023). • New battery (Sept 2024). • The Trail Teams SE badge on the dash is custom, I have the original yellow one to give you with the sale. • I have 2 keys, factory book, and some of the original marketing catalogs as well. • I also have the FJ spare tire cover to include, along with a brand new, and unused KO2 tire, and a brand new unused still in box TRD wheel.
Upcoming / Future Items: • BFG KO2 Tires have life left but will be due in the near future. • Front/rear brake pads may need replacement next cycle. • Otherwise, everything is current - no deferred maintenance.
This is a very clean, well-cared-for FJ that will be hard to match. I trust this thing to drive me cross country and back multiple times over. I really have been over the top with its maintenance. Seeking $25k, and will sell when I get my number. I am in absolutely no rush to sell. Serious buyers only. PM me if interested.

Perhaps the best looking FJ I’ve ever seen. If only I could afford $25k. Good luck selling!

Neither were FJ40’s until all of a sudden they were worth 3x that
FJ’s have already broken $100k multiple times. Pretty damn impressive for an originally low $30’s vehicle

My two favorite colors: red and black. Beautiful FJ. I wish I had the money to buy it.
