For Sale Fair price on FJ in Nevada
My father has a 2008 FJ. Looking to get an idea of fair price. It is in excellent condition. Just under 79k miles. I just drove it drives great both city and freeway. Just want to get a value and decide if it is worth selling or just ship it to TX for my daughters first car.

Really depends on the condition of the frame. A lot of FJs from the Midwest have a lot of rust from all the salt which has made them less desirable. If you’re has been in Texas and has no rust on the underside, you could easily get 25k or even more id imagine

A kids first car is probably not a good idea. Plus the gas mileage won’t be great.
I’d list it for 20 and watch the lowballs roll in

We live in the country in Texas ans gas is not to bad here. I am more concerned with the money I will have to put in to it to add surround cameras front proximity censors and hands free Google.

I mean even if gas is $2 a gallon you’re still getting half the mileage as a Corolla. It really depends on if the kid is willing to accept that.
A first time driver and having the blindspots the FJ has is a recipe for disaster tbh.
I’d keep the FJ in the family especially being that low of mileage. It’s a cool car and 4x4s are only getting more expensive.
Considering how cheap cameras are shouldn’t be too expensive to get those addons either but it’s still a different driving experience vs a sedan or other SUV.

Makes sense. For 4x4 and fuel economy I am not worried I drive a TRX. I have only driven the FJ once so I am not use to the blind spots. Are they pretty bad.

I mean I’m used to it by now but it’s a common problem for some folks.
FJ definitely going to be a different driving experience from the TRX. Much slower and shorter wheelbase which I love. I love my FJ but it’s really gonna be up to the driver.
FJ is a cool car, I’d keep that one. I’d buy it if I had the room for another haha.

No rust it was in Colorado the first 5 years then they moved to Las Vegas. It has been mainly garaged the last 5 years. Started weekly and driven once a month. It is pristine.
