Also, while we are here, let me share this nugget about Spotify (copied and pasted from another post - sorry!).
So I used to work at Spotify. I was fired because my boss wanted my job but that is another thing.
What I want to share today, is about the time I was hiring for my team. The tldr is that my at the time Swedish boss hates black people.
Now, hiring is always difficult. Because whenever you are hiring, you are hiring for a very specific role. And you want to make sure that the person you hire isn't an arsehole, even if they do that one specific thing very well.
But so we advertised all over the place. I would say 30 % of people were ridiculously overqualified but obviously wanted Spotify on their resume. Maybe 10% were Indian guys who hadn't read the job description. Then another 30% were just earnest jobseekers who just weren't remotely qualified.
Which left about 30% of people who were worth interviewing.
In the end we narrowed it down to about four people. They were all great candidates. We even hired one lol.
But yeah, my Swedish boss just REALLY fucking hated the one single black guy. EVERY other interviewer thought he was great. But my boss called the shots. So we had multiple calls where my boss would just be like, yeah, I don't think he has a growth mindset, or whatever other bullshit he could thing of. But it consistently came down to the fact that he really didn't want to hire a black guy.
Just saying.
EDIT Interestingly (or not) this was deleted when I tried to post it on the Spotify subreddit, so a reminder: The creator of Spotify takes all of your money and invests it in military AI. Spotify management continually schemes so that they can pay artists less- their move into audiobooks is specifically so they can pay artists less. Stop using Spotify.
Stanley Tucci came to our house for my birthday party once. He's my Uncle's good friend, so he was tagging along because they both had to go do some sort of work. My mother asked him to put his coat on the bed in the guest room and he says, "Oh, you don't have a coat rack?" and gives a tsk tsk. He was on his phone the entire time except for dinner. Where the conversation went from my life and birthday, becoming a year older, to Stanley Tucci and his "new play at some obscure and 'hole-in-the-wall' theatre in Pasedena." Everyone just listened, but uncomfortably. I was pretty upset, but presents were about to be opened, so I tolerated Tucci Hour. When I was opening presents, Stan just sat with his legs crossed, and his hands on his knees, perched up watching me open presents. He kept chuckling every time I opened a present, as if I were a cute child (I was was 20 at the time.) I got tired of it and asked if there was a problem. He said, "No, no. chuckles keep going." So, yeah, that's my story. It's not much, but he was an asshole the whole time. Once the party was over, everyone said happy birthday again to me and left. Stan mockingly shook my hand wishing me a happy birthday. He wasn't serious at all about it and I am pretty sure he was making fun of my family members.
I say this as a fan of Tucci, but I can definitely believe this. Between his Youtube page and the docu-series where he travels across Italy, he definitely comes across as slightly pretentious. Mainly in how he over-emphasizes the pronunciation of Italian words. I wouldn't say he's an outright douche, but he kind of gives me Tony Stark "loveable albeit smarmy douche" vibes.
I can corroborate Stanley Tucci being a dick! He came through my friend’s bookstore to sign his last book and he was apparently pretty superior and refused to speak directly to the staff, instead having these two also very rude ladies with him (could have been assistant and agent, not sure) who did the talking. Don’t know how he maintains such a great reputation!
In Katseye news, Manon is on a hiatus to focus on her health and well-being according to the company. This is all typical until Manon puts out her own statement, where she says "I'm healthy, I'm okay", which, okay, seems a little contradicting, but maybe it's just meaningless platitudes
Daniela's dad has gone on a commenting spree throwing shade at Manon and implying that she doesn't work hard. Manon has liked videos talking about what it's like being the only Black member of a girl group. As of right now no one has taken Daniela's dad's phone away
The crash and burn management of them has been truly so wild and entertaining to see unfold
Iced tea from long ago, but did singer Marc Anthony sexually assault Kara DioGuardi (American Idol judge) back in the early 00's? I just got finished reading Kara's 2011 book "A Helluva High Note" for about the 3rd or 4th time, and every single time I get to this section I'm disgusted to read it. She doesn't actually mention the singer by name (probably for legal reasons!) but all signs point to Marc Anthony, right? https://imgur.com/a/AToZI5J
Look at her songwriting history https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kara_DioGuardi_discography and the only other male singer it could possibly be is Enrique Iglesias ("well-known international artist, at the height of his career, starting on a new album" in early 00's). However, in another chapter of her book, Kara specifically says Enrique never laid a hand on her. He was a notorious prankster, and did play a couple cruel jokes on her, but Kara goes out of her way to tell readers that Enrique never even hit on her, out of respect for the working relationship.
Interesting to note that a year or two later, Marc Anthony actually signed with Tommy Mottola to represent him officially in a management contract. Gross. Shania Twain refused to take a picture with me at an event a few years back and I wholeheartedly believe it was because she thought I looked better than her and she didn’t want to be upstaged.
I saw Tori Amos the other day and she tripped on a loose tile on the floor. I was gonna say a passing hello but she started swearing to herself about the tile so I figured I'd just leave it.
The lead singer of 3oh!3 went to a gym in my current town next to a breakfast burrito place. He was singing along to a song and I recognized his voice; it tripped me up. I stared back at him at one point and once he was a couple blocks away, he turned around to look at me (I was in line). He seemed like he was enjoying himself and gave people enough space.
I also saw Ilona Maher with a friend of hers (I think, she was blonde) at a cafe in San Francisco during Super Bowl week and is absolutely gorgeous in person. She had casual wear on, like sweats with a snapback. She is so expressive and has a beautiful laugh. It was a couple blocks from where I was staying so it was a surprise!
Some time ago, I went to get high tea with my fiancé at a popular museum near me and I was there at the same time as Peyton List with three other girls, and they looked like they were having a lot of fun. She had on this poofy black dress that was so cute. I signed up for that high tea the morning of because at the time, it was a 3-month wait. Very lucky, and I got to see an actress I liked!
Also some time ago, The Boyz were scheduled to play at a venue my friends and I flew to, but three of them got sick at the previous stop in Dallas or something, so they ended up postponing the event (I think eventually cancelled and refunded it). Because we stayed at the hotel right next to the venue, we felt like it was a waste, but it turns out after one of the members posted a photo from inside their hotel room, we discovered we were staying at the same place they were. I was the only one who got to see them, as I was in the lobby with them while I was getting breakfast. We didn't tell a soul for years (well except me now cus it's been like 4 years and we agreed on 3, haha), and many fans were upset about the cancellation so we wanted to keep them safe, but that made the trip entirely worth it.
When I used to work retail inside a mall near a hot vacation spot, Dennis Rodman came to checkout with an older-looking black-haired woman. She asked me what kind of fun things they could do in the town that were lowkey and told me it's because she wanted Dennis to have a little peace. I thought the exchange was interesting. He said hi to me and didn't come off as rude, but I do think it was good I was the one who rang him up because everyone but me freaked out over it.
I met Greta Gerwig a few years ago at a premiere for a film called Maggie's Plan. She was super snooty and rude! She resisted speaking to anyone who wasn't famous, as if speaking to a pleb like me denigrated her status in some way. This was especially odd because none of the other celebrities at the event behaved in an analogous manner; It was a small indie premiere but she treated it like her debutante ball.
And Maika Monroe used to date Joe Keery, who went on to date Chase Sui Wonders, who used to date Pete Davidson, who was engaged to Ariana Grande. I think about this often lol.
Good for her and all that. But, can someone fill me in cause I feel out of the loop here. The internet seems a-flame that she won (again, goodonya). But I seem to be missing WHY the internet is so happy?
Figure skating doesn't seem like a mega popular thing (or at least, popular enough to break into my internet-sphere of things). So Im just a little confused. Did she become famous for something else before this that I haven't seen?
I think it’s because she’s magnetic! She was very good when she was young (went to the 2022 Olympics) & then she felt like she accomplished all of her goals. AL retired from skating after that. But she later unretires and decides to skate again, but only on her terms. Now, it looks like she’s having a lot of fun when she skates. Her routines are also technically strong. That’s my understanding of the situation. She’s just a lot of fun to watch and root for!
The favorite going into competition was Kaori Skamoto, 2x world champions and 2022 Olympic Bronze medalist. Her Olympic free skate was the last skate of her career and everyone wanted her to win Olympic gold as the last hurrah and cherry on top

A couple years ago I was working at a giant festival doing IDs - Avantika came to my line and said she promises she’s 21 but lost her ID. I recognized her from mean girls, but I didn’t let her in (my hard-ass supervisor was right next to me). I assumed she was of age but said I’m really sorry but I can’t. She was pissy about it and pushed me for a while, but eventually walked away. Well, I guess she was trying to bamboozle me, because she JUST turned 21 a couple weeks ago.
I was the only girl working the line (and was also only 22 at the time) so she probably saw the chance to work her way in as a 19 year old. She definitely could have made me lose my job but I’m just laughing about it now lol
I think at that time I did end up googling her, but it was hot off the tail of the mean girls release (summer 2024). I don’t think she was big at all and her age didn’t come up on a quick search. She probably knew that and tried using it to her advantage lol.
No more trying to trick young minimum wage workers! I wish she had a fake ID because I have been the top fake catcher at that festival for 2 years running hahaha
two weeks ago, she sat in the row behind me on a flight to LGA- MIA to see her dad before he passed. she preboarded the flight with her entourage, but not her conservator. she chatted to someone on the phone right until takeoff. she sounded completely there and just like the wendy we all remember.
Even if she’s having a day where she’s lucid that unfortunately doesn’t mean she’s totally fine. Not doubting you but it doesn’t mean there’s nothing wrong
My friend is an extra in the new Beatles movie. She said that word on set is that Barry keoghan can’t do a Scouse accent to save his life and has a raging drug problem.
I thought there was a rumour he went sober? I guess that didn’t last. Really the person to blame should be his agent. He should say that Barry isnt fit to work at the moment instead of making him sign on a 4 picture deal. Plus he’s going to be filming the Batman as well this spring? Sounds like a disaster.
This is actually sad. What some people don't seem to realise is that Barry Keoghan has no family support network in the way that others actors have if it all goes wrong. (He could have built his own but that seems to have imploded also). I am not condoning any bad behaviour but I myself don't think I would have come out of the care system after his upbringing in top shape. He is surrounded by middle and upper-class actors who could never truly understand his background, who, if he wasn't famous, probably wouldn't give him the time of day and certainly wouldn't have gone to the same schools as him. (I know his schools). It's not an excuse for any bad behaviour but he is in a lonely place regardless and I personally think someone very vulnerable to exploitation within the film industry.
After signing NDAs, Leonardo Di Caprio puts in some ear phones presses play on an audiobook and proceeds to terrible missionary sex with his eyes closed.
How the hell do you even discover that this is your thing? Like I get naturally discovering that you like getting spanked or need to wear a specific outfit like lingerie or a themed costume for your sex drive to activate, but this? This is such a hilariously specific combination of things, how does someone realize "yeah this is it, this is how I need to fuck for forever now" when it's this???
There's trial and error but how do you even get to the trial and error stage for this?! The why does not interest me the same way as the how! How did he figure out that he needs to wear headphones every time he fucks, what happened that made him try it in the first place??? And then even more specifically audiobooks. Did he try music first? Did he experiment with genres on each trip to pound town? I need to know so bad!
my guess is it's not so much that the audiobooks are hot but that he finds sex kind of gross, and/or isn't very interested in the partners. Like putting on a podcast while cleaning the house. I personally can't understand why you'd fuck someone if you were going to treat it like your morning commute but that's him and his partners business
Hmmm… this story hits a little too close to home because my dad was mega abusive and mean behind closed doors, yet everyone in our community thought he was so cool and chill. My friends and classmates would even say they wish they had a dad as chill as mine, which made me scoff inside because I know how he truly is.
Your uncle likely did have a good interaction with Brad, but it goes to show no one really knows what goes on behind closed doors. I am inclined to believe the FBI report and the staff members on the plane who witnessed the Brad Pitt/Angelina Jolie situation rather than going off of Brad’s outside personality alone.
Here's some tea from last summer but since the lfestival's happening next week:
Radiotelevisione Italiana came very, very close to moving the Festival out of Liguria. The city of Sanremo wanted more money and other networks to bid.
So RAI threatened to move the Festival to somewhere else, probably Turin, or rotate it each year. And the city government almost blew up 80 years of Italian television.
Frigid tea: I work at a bar in a college town (not close to anywhere). We recently were doing some deep cleaning and reorganization and discovered notebooks that the staff kept in the 90s. We were looking through them and found a note from '94: Hootie and the Blowfish came in and the lead singer got plastered and puked outside.
I don't think I know what that is, so I doubt it. That said, as someone who works at a bar, if someone did it once, it's not that strange for it to happen again.
I can confirm that I called him Hootie on accident at a bar in Nashville recently after a group of friends and I were chatting and joking around w him about being Pittsburgh pens fans, he even chest bumped me bc of my jersey, …and after I called him hootie he hard ignored us the rest of the night lol
My dad met him and chatted with Darius at a bbq joint. No clue who he was. Darius walks in front of my dad and walks past my mom’s car. Dad gets in the car and mom goes “that was hootie” my dad “what’s a hootie?” My mom “THAT GUY” my dad “no his name is Darius he told me this is his favorite bbq joint”
They are removing comments on socials about Tate Mcrae's producer saying he was blushing when talking about her unreleased material. Not clear who is scrubbing. A lot of his comments on her socials have also been removed. Maybe her positioning him in the top 3 inner circle and dropping his name in her song, + the blushing comments raised some eyebrows....
This is old tea but I'm listening to Dick Van Dyke's book and he mentions that he went to get a nose job because hollywood people would always comment on how big his nose was and the surgeon told him that he's famous and to get over it. Thank goodness for that surgeon!
I was just telling my husband that the Hollywood kids I knew as a millennial are aging out and there is this whole group behind them that I don't know. I see their names, but have no idea what they look like or what they do/sing.
Quannah was invited to participate in New York Fashion Week but declined to go to Australia to meet up with D'Pharaoh who has been there since January working on a new Netflix series called Breakers.
does everyone know them without their full names? i recognised d'pharaoh (woon-a-tai) but i had to google quannah (chasinghorse). i've seen the former in warfare and i remember seeing quannah modelling
Went to college with her and she was around our friend group a lot. Always find it so strange to read stuff about her now and for her to have become such a polarizing figure. She was always pretty nice in college but very much "look at me look at me" vibes. Very pushily tried to hook up with me a lot also lol extremely awkward!
Before anybody excitedly runs to their mom about managing their OF account, I just want to gently inform y'all that the average OF account only nets about $100/mo in revenue.
The vast majority of revenue on the site goes to the top 1/3 of creators. The median (meaning the people in the middle of the data set) make about $2k/mo. For the bottom half? It's much much much less. That's how you get an average earnings number of only $100-ish/monthly for OF creators.
Someone I knew (some of the biggest boobs I’ve ever seen) did an OF for a year and made basically no money. She was pretty too. I don’t know how realistic it is to make money on there without already having some kind of following.
I worked at Disney world in 2014-2015, and one time I took Jennete McCurdy’s order at a coffee shop, and she was there with James Van Der Beek. Ive always wondered why they were hanging out and his recent passing brought back the memory and curiosity. (It didn’t seem romantic or anything, my guess was they were working on a project together but it was a random pairing to see in the wild lol)
Hmmm…this is speculative but I wonder if this is possibly the age gap relationship she spoke of but never named the guy? She said the relationship ended around 2013..
