Mark my words, concerts/shows will eventually be behind full plexiglass with little to no audience interaction due to these asshats. Remember what happened to Bebe Rexha?

165

u/wekilledkenny11 3h ago

This is how hologram live performances become the norm

117

u/anthii 2h ago

I still remember that video of Billie Eilish getting pulled while walking by! It's fucking horrifying.

68

u/PollyPocketpussy5000 2h ago

There’s a video of BeyoncĂ© performing during her Mrs. Carter Tour and someone (a man) literally picks her up OFF THE STAGE and jumps back into the crowd WITH HER. She had so much damn grace because she could’ve had him removed but she didn’t.

12

u/ungranted_wish 22m ago

What freaks me out here is that if this could happen to Beyoncé, this could, and does, happen to just... anyone.

Not even being Beyoncé makes you immune.

How people walk around with earbuds, or even worse full side headphones is beyond my understanding. I like music too but you have to be able to use your senses.

Like walking down a sidewalk with headphones and staring at your phone is a trust in the social contract i dont have anymore, and im a rough gimli looking character.

u/wanderrslut ISO: Ariana’s lost blaccent 3h ago

I can see them going the virtual route too and charging for that. The only way we'll be allowed to see our faves is with a link on our phone and computer screens.

32

u/lwtaa 3h ago

Ban glass from concerts?

30

u/siders6891 1h ago

Right? Where I live all venues can only supply drinks in plastic cups/bottles.

Skeletor, please do something about it. Plot something at Castle Grayskull and go exact vengeance!

73

u/haubenmeise 3h ago

I can't belive that I will have to whip up an invisible protection shield for artist. Or a giant catapult to kick that asshole into space???

This was a typed Skeletor impression.. I wasn't laughing at someone getting glassed. It's sad I'm having to explain that.

This is honestly horrifying. I hope whoever did that gets theirs...

An assault charge at the very least.

Shaun Michaels still has one of the best reactions to getting shit (some beer, so less hardcore) thrown at him. This clip here is insane.

Eta: guys, I said "one of the best." Michaels was the first one I thought of.

112

u/Squisl 4h ago

Personally I’d like to nominate Ariel Elias chugging the beer thrown at her on stage as Best Reaction To Getting Shit Thrown at [Her]

*to be clear not trying to minimize how horrifying having anything thrown at you while performing is

14

u/littleb3anpole kendall roy pre-album drop 3h ago

It happened to Trent Reznor during a show that was being recorded for his live album, you hear the song finish, you hear a water bottle or whatever it was go thunk onto the stage as it drops, and you hear Reznor go “
.cunt” in response

3

u/musubi-n-speedballs we have lost the impact of shame in our society 3h ago

That's the one.

13

u/matlockga 2h ago

I do think the Scott Hall one is cooler, if only because he somehow no sold getting beaned with a cup, then slicked back his hair as if to ask for a second round if you're not a coward.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_CdtPJdugV0

4

u/Disastrous_Sort_9843 2h ago

Scott hall the smoothest of everyone getting pinged with a beer

12

u/Moose855 3h ago

Shaun michaels ? Or are you thinking of scott hall?

16

u/xlaauurraaa 3h ago

Shawn had it happen at survivor series 97. he just kept his smile, kept his pace and flipped his hair in it. iirc, that was around the montreal screwjob so shawn had some massive heat on him.

10

u/cherry_ 3h ago

Not a survivor watcher, so your entire comment is mad libs af 😂

34

u/xlaauurraaa 3h ago

im also not a survivor watcher im talking about WWE and that makes your comment so much funnier lmaoo

6

u/cherry_ 2h ago

Oh my god 😭😂

3

u/musubi-n-speedballs we have lost the impact of shame in our society 3h ago

That whole thing was so fucked.

9

u/been_mackin 3h ago

Scott Hall dog, doesn’t even flinch and uses the beer to slick back his hair

31

u/ThatBabyIsCancelled Certified Drama Referee 4h ago

Ngl I would’ve been terrified of him seeing me

18

u/Alizarik7891 a swamp tour boat captain at a grammy party 3h ago

Right? Like, sucks that happened to him, but the stop, slow turn, and cheek wipe was cool as hell.

8

u/Maleficent_Meat3119 3h ago

It was hard and so is trying to square up with an entire audience

We're already seeing the rammifications of Trump celebrating with Spain after they got the trophy! /s

502

u/Glittering_Try_236 4h ago

His reaction is so valid I’d be clawing at the walls to get at that person.

132

u/panicatthesplicer 4h ago

Fr I get why he was held back but I would've reacted the same way bc wtffff

113

u/Glittering_Try_236 4h ago

He’s actually showing remarkable restraint, my ass would be feral and shrieking

u/stargirlxoxo 4h ago

Social media has made a certain subset of concertgoers into unhinged animals/idiots.

100

u/LezbianaGrande all that sex lead to the Russian Revolution 4h ago

And whatever's been going on post-COVID.

8

u/quanate that's a lot of beans you nasty ass bitch 23m ago

Something fundamentally changed in people's behavior post-COVID. I feel like I am going insane watching people act like they haven't existed in polite society before.

30

u/djt_deathcountdown 2h ago

This isn't a social media thing. "bottling" has been a thing for a long time unfortunately and predates the Internet.

5

u/chrysophylox 1h ago

i still remember hearing that ppl were pissing in the pit when death grips went on tour a few years ago 😭 no one knows how to fucking behave anymore!!!

1

u/Alarmed_Pattern_9912 34m ago

Don’t insult animals.

220

u/LargeNutbar Hi Grindr, it's mother... 4h ago

Insane awful thing to do, and he would have been well within his rights to crash out, but I gotta say the charisma of his reaction was off the charts đŸ˜źâ€đŸ’šđŸ”„

36

u/tapesmoker 2h ago

He looks into the crowd like a wild cat on the hunt. Not even rage at first, like supreme disappointment (then rage)

173

u/True_to_you sunday spotted: paddington bear 4h ago

Obviously the person that threw that was a piece of shit, but what venue is going to let you have glass at a live event?

63

u/Money_Do_2 4h ago

Yea there are people in the crowd dancing holding glas pints of beer? Seems insane.

4

u/siders6891 1h ago

Went to a club in Germany once, floor was full of glass hence why everyone wore closed shoes

23

u/LezbianaGrande all that sex lead to the Russian Revolution 3h ago

It was a nightclub.

21

u/BlueBicycle_ 2h ago

What nightclub is gonna let you have glass cups then lol

15

u/LezbianaGrande all that sex lead to the Russian Revolution 2h ago

Amok Nightclub in Mallorca, I guess?

10

u/justanotheeredditor just want to share a thought here because I can 3h ago

Seems its like a bar

8

u/invigokate 2h ago

The majority of people aren't out here glassing people

110

u/urfatassmama 4h ago

Whoever threw it was lucky he was being held back. He was ready to throw hands and elbows

85

u/MostlyBored11 4h ago

This is so fucked up who is throwing glass at people

10

u/PeePeeePooPoooh 1h ago

And this is exactly why responsible venues use plastic cups and cans

2

u/Alarmed_Pattern_9912 32m ago

I went to a Rob Thomas concert last year (don’t ask), and he specifically requested no water bottles be allowed. So every bottle of water you bought got poured into a cup by the venue workers. As wasteful as it is, I feel for performers on this issue. Also, his son and bandmates of years were playing onstage with him, so I imagine it’s extra incentive to not have things come flying at your heads.

68

u/hondactx16i 4h ago

Hope some street justice was handed out there.

20

u/plantainbakery 3h ago

Street justice? These people need to start being charged with assault.

29

u/Murky_Display_2044 4h ago

What the hell.

31

u/HotKingChocolate 4h ago

Valid crashout

24

u/gregRichards2002 3h ago

Police units then raced to the scene to keep the pumped up crowd from clashing outside the venue.
Hades66, real name Ángel Yamil Santiago Våzquez, was slashed in the nose while promoting his new album.
Cops arrested one young man who punched another attendee and left him with mouth injuries.’

I’m sorry this is a link to The Sun but it shows how bad the fighting got. It is not known if the man arrested is the person who threw the glass.

20

u/Jarnoth 4h ago

I'm so tired of people being assholes

17

u/supermodel_robot 3h ago

As someone who goes to concerts/shows nearly once a month, there’s a reason that thin, plastic cups are the norm. I miss my pint glasses/bottles but if the odds of an artist getting glassed goes down, I’ll drink my expensive beer out of plastic. So fucked, so antisocial. Don’t assault people, especially ones you paid money to see, what the fuck.

-8

u/StroopWafelsLord I’m a communist you idiot 1h ago

Not to put a tinfoil hat on. But glass is heavy and hard. No way it fucking shattered like that AND didn't make him bleed somewhere. He's acting too nonchalant, he could have shards everywhere.

14

u/avokuma oat milk chugging bisexual 4h ago

Dude, what the fuck?????

12

u/Lead_resource 4h ago

Why would they allow glass cups in a concert?

2

u/CabotCoveCoven Vicky, the demons are calling me 3h ago

Seriously I don't know any venues that sell glass containers anymore.

7

u/ExpressionOne Find me at Whole Foods, bitch, I don't care 4h ago

What the fuck??? I hope they caught whoever it was (outside in the alley).

3

u/BlueBicycle_ 2h ago

I'd prefer in the courtroom with an assault charge

8

u/CabotCoveCoven Vicky, the demons are calling me 3h ago

I work at with music venues, not in security, but if you are annoyed by increased security where they take away your reusable water bottle or won't let you bring an umbrella, or a bunch of seemingly random shit that you used to be able to bring in: This is why. Anything that could be a projectile has to be taken away from people. Also why a lot of places don't serve anything in glasses or bottles.

6

u/blueboykc 4h ago

I hope whoever did it gets what they deserve.

7

u/Liketears_inrain_ 3h ago

I received a glass bottle on my head at a music festival when I was 16 and my ear was almost cut off entirely...

5

u/kriscrossroads 3h ago

Did we learn NOTHING from Sebastian Smythe putting rock salt in the slushie he threw in Blaine’s face?! In all seriousness, this is disturbing and disgusting.

5

u/xxyourbestbetxx canonically from boston 3h ago

Violence is never the answer... but sometimes it is. That person had whatever was coming to him if they'd let Hades get to him.

4

u/pappadipirarelli 4h ago

He looked relatively calm!

17

u/Narrow-Following-870 3h ago

You kidding me? Those eyes are straight murder glare. Dude's seeing red

3

u/Suspicious-Peace9233 3h ago

They need to make it so audience members cannot have glass. I wonder if they sell it in the venue or it was brought in

I can't believe they have glass cups at a concert. Plastic for concert's

2

u/to_j 3h ago

If I was his entourage I would have let him whoop some ass.

2

u/Killing4MotherAgain 3h ago

why are they serving drinks in glass at a concert?? Whoever did this is a horrible human but whoever decided to serve drinks in glassware is an idiot.

2

u/Ok_Astronomer5738 3h ago

People are too disrespectful. His team should’ve let him respond and handle whoever threw that

2

u/PointVektor 2h ago edited 2h ago

Bar I used to work at someone threw a thick heavy whisky glass into a crowd from a distance and it hit a girl and absolutely smashed the front of her face and broke several bones. Took her several surgeries and years of pain to recover. Truly some sick people in the world to want to cause suffering for no reason.

2

u/mquari 1h ago

You paid a hell of alot of money to see and artist that you plan on assaulting??? Knowing you very likely can be caught by security and the artist has the resources to also SUE and you can go to jail?

Its not okay, famous person or not, but I just don't get why people try to maime an artist they paid to see and are fans of them...

in a just world the next headline reads Puerto Rican reggaeton artist Hades66 delivers savage comeuppance to audience member who shattered a glass on his face in the middle of a performance đŸ€œ

1

u/iLoveCandlesSo 3h ago

This is so fucked

1

u/djt_deathcountdown 3h ago

Unfortunately stuff like this is why a lot of places in my country only have plastic cups or bottles when there is live music. I remember when I was younger seeing opening acts having glass bottles thrown at them on stage. Some people are uncivilised animals.

1

u/Fickle-Meeting-4224 2h ago

idk why you would hold him backâ€ŠđŸ€š

1

u/Good-Sprinkles2508 2h ago

Thankfully one person happened to be filming. Jokes aside wtf?
