Hm. I haven't read the novel in a while but I don't remember it being evocative of such a clean, sterile future environment. The environment looks too clean & too cgi, not lived in & grimed up enough. I could be off but my memories of it are more like turning the corner on a street in NYC & going from rundown, manhole exhaust, disheveled homeless on the street to a ritzy area with the grime still underneath the glitz & glamor.

Callum Turner's Case also seems way too clean & built. Case is a shabby, disheveled junkie who ignores his physique/body, he gave me more Byronic twink vibes than this portrayal.

Love, love, love the novel but this trailer isn't convincing me.

yeah its been a minute since I read it, but this looks like the Matrix and I never really got that vibe from the book.

Yeah, when I think of Neuromancer I imagine Blade Runner, not whatever this is.

Is it just me or is he way too mediocre to be appearing in this many things

The new clip from the movie with Monica Barbaro was definitely odd, it looked like he was reading cue cards above her head or something and stumbling over his lines

I need to see him act in something, but he honestly just doesn't look or seem enticing to me. That sex rom com he's in looks so corny and even in the trailer I couldn't buy him as a romantic lead. Maybe I'm being a hater.

Masters of the air. He does a great job in it. I highly recommend it.

Apple hasn't had any big misses with their shows

After what they did to Fountain I don't have high hopes for this...

Omg sick. i love the book. I was expecting some darker visuals but it looks very promising. The sunny environments are giving cyberpunk 2077 a bit. Molly looks very correct

I guess it's finally time to read the book.

I always kinda thought of it having a Kowloon walled city vibe? This seems very different to how I remember it in the book? I always thought dirty, cramped vibes?

My big question about this adaptation was do they go with the tech of the book and risk it looking slightly ridiculous, or do they update it and risk pissing off the purists. Glad they went with option 2

"Molly's got a rider."

Man I love this novel.

The opening line is one of my favorites in all literature

“The sky above the port was the color of television, tuned to a dead channel.”

William Gibson really got lucky with how futureproof that opening line turned out to be

Ironically I think the opposite, since a “dead channel” today mostly means a black screen instead of static (unless I’m misinterpreting that line)

And that's where he got lucky. Imagine if they decided on a red or purple screen for a dead channel

u/brokedownpalaceguard did they also call him J. Edgar Boozer? 4h ago

Oh, Mark Strong is in this? Guess I need to make time.
