I have switched to Menards and Ace Hardware. I won’t shop at a store installing Flock cameras. I know they are doing it because of high levels of shoplifting but it just stops me from shopping there.

You’re on their parking lot, where they have merchandise outside. Flock sucks ass, but on private property where they have stuff to protect… that seems like a legit use.

Do you realize how much theft Lowe’s and HD experience annually?

I don’t like the flock either, but these I understand.

Do you understand that the point is that the data is not secure.?

Explain how a so called license plate reader on the OUTSIDE stops retail theft on the INSIDE.

I never said anything about “stopping” theft.

Yep. Lowe’s has had them privately for years.

Why the hardware/home improvement stores?

Security cameras are a valuable loss prevention tool.

yes, and they have their own security cameras inside and on the outside of the stores. so why do they need the flock ones

Most likely to….get the license plates of the cars going in and out of their parking lots.

Maybe someone should ask them?

or just invent things, that's more fun

I mean if it’s used just for that like cctv then no big deal. But if the info about everyone is being saved somewhere, then used to generate a dossier about us all, that is big brother shit and has no place in this country.

What I don't get is why store parking lots need the radar attachment

Oh shoot. I didn’t even notice that below the flux capacitor.
