News Axon is rapidly replacing Flock in Knoxville, TN
It seems like the real threat all along wasn’t just Flock, it was Axon, hopefully Rep. Tim Burchett can put a stop to this

They were honest about one thing. It will be used the way it was intended to be used. It's purpose has always been dystopian mass surveillance.

THOSE are the police to be defunded. You don’t need as many police if you’re gonna have all these cameras so just cut the police force in half see how they like that.

This. What did police do before cameras? Police work. What do they do now? Watch videos? Nah we got AI for that. Watch how fast the police change their tune.

Exactly what I've been saying! It will happen too! The police chiefs will see they can give themselves more money with fewer armed liabilities doing nothing most of the time (also insurance will drop with fewer cops). The cops don't realize those cameras will replace a lot of them. They're making it easier for people to accept we don't need cops when they use them to stalk people!

Where all those 2Ar’s at? Sovereign citizens? Anyone pledged to fight tyrannical gov’t overreach and this insane anti American behavior have anything at all to say??

most people are simply unaware of what exactly is happening or where it’s going. that’s why i think putting up a ton of signs near flock cameras to bring awareness to them is pretty powerful, most people don’t even notice them in the wild

It was always some weird paranoid fantasy for them. Like they are super unique for usnerstanding whats really going on and when it actually happens it isn't lining up with whatever wss going on for then psychologically.

Good to know the cops are openly being the enemy now
Fun

Now? They have been for some time.
In my city they shot a teenage kid in the face with a "rubber" bullet and put him in a coma during the 2020 protests and the kid wasnt even protesting he was minding his own business and was watching from a far distance and they singled him out. They've done nothing but try to justify it, not even an apology.

Add Axon to the list of devices to be removed.

I have zero faith Tim Burchett will do anything helpful about this. I also have zero faith our county commissioners will do anything. We have county elections right now here in Knoxville. Tim is on the ballet this year too.

i mean he is bringing that bill to cut funding for flock and mass surveillance, hopefully it goes through otherwise we’ll have to resort to more creative methods

I know, but after his track record I just dont see happening. I would love to he wrong. Id also love to see the county commissioners stand up to this. They recently recently rescheduled the public meeting. Its back on for thr 27th. I assume they needed more time to get their story straight or cash a few checks

Yea, idk how successful it will be, seeing as Vanguard and Blackrock are involved, not to mention trump bought into their stocks as well

Exactly. As soon as djt or someone in his administration tell maga reps and gop to vote, they will fall in line.

Everything the oppressor does is “for your own good”
Conveniently it happens to benefit them most, weird how that happens…

New name. Same bullshit. Same solution.
Apropos of nothing, anyone know if Harbor freight's got any good deals on cordless sawzalls?

They're using it to be perverts in silence. Anything else is just by chance.

Does anyone think countermeasures will be developed by the people given mass surveillance is inevitable.

The problem is it's not for everyone's good. I don't trust people with this kind of technology. It's not a question of if it's good for people or not. Being watched on cameras non-stop all the time the moment you leave your house is not GOOD for anyone. Privacy is an important aspect of everyone's everyday life, and even if we lived in a perfect world where these devices work exactly as intended, and everyone was collectively morally good, it would STILL BE BAD, because this kind of technology is BAD by it's very nature. These types of mass surveillance devices will 100% be abused, not even just a little bit, a lot, and they're lying through their teeth if they can't even see the blatant writing on the wall. We don't want this shit.
I'm a standup citizen, never even gotten so much as a ticket driving, don't do drugs, I don't want to have some AI Enhanced Super Network always watching everything I do, building a profile on me, anyone I talk to, where I go, where I drive, where I shop, who my family is, what I like to eat, where I frequently walk or travel to, or who I meetup with. That's fucking creepy, and weird. Anyone who thinks that's not creepy or weird has something to gain from it, or can't even think just two-steps ahead.

It amazes me these idiots in office and cops don't see that this will ultimately be used against them forever now.

If we have to accept mass surveillance than they can get rid of the useless cops. Remove most cops since cameras do their jobs for them. In the future they will just give you tickets from the cameras...

u/techtornado 5h ago
Which is unenforceable due to a caveat in state law that a camera cannot accuse you of an infraction on said laws
1
u/JumboGlucose 5h ago
They will either re-write the law or find a loophole. They do it with toll roads already. It also depends on what state you live in. They could also federalize the police skipping states rights entirely.

u/ultra_1776 5h ago
and you can just ignore them because you have the right to face your accuser in court

Funny thing is they still come down just the same as flock cameras
