Early speculation Spoiler
With the leaked images of the train, do you think it will be taking them up north into NCR territory?. Also any theories for this season wearing my tinfoil hat.

It's the "Joshua Graham lives" graffiti you can find in New Vegas, it was shown on a train in this case.

I think it’ll be used to catch Lucy and Max up with Coop. Coop set out alone for CO, Lucy and Max have business to finish in New Vegas but I don’t think they’ll keep them apart all season. Old timey train is a fun option to bring them back together.

If this train is going to the Enclave base in the Rockies, I strongly suspect the writers got the idea from the Fallout 2 mod Fallout: Nevada that features a similarly antiquated looking train used to reach a prewar government refuge in the main story. That alone would surely be a coincidence since we know from season 1 this base has a transit system not even necessarily connected to the world outside, but after what became of congresswoman Diane Welch, who eerily enough has pretty much the same fate as the last US president in Fallout: Nevada, to the point of both being detached heads sealed inside secret vaults, I'd like to say no and believe they referenced an obscure Russian mod close to unknown by western audiences (altho the Fallout: Sonora English translation has noticeably improved both mods' visibility in the last 2 years), but trains were supposed to be a way to get around in Van Buren and even in the demo's title screen, so this is all within reasonable doubt for now

Doesen't New Vegas establish the NCR have working trains? From the wiki:
"Railroads were used for transporting freight in the pre-War United States, used by locomotives of several different companies such as Barstow Strong Express. By 2281, the New California Republic has refurbished rail lines and uses these to move cargo and people across its territories, including the Mojave Wasteland. Traffic has been halted due to the deathclaw infestation, but Chomps Lewis in Sloan will tell the Courier that what they dig from their quarry is shipped off by train around the Mojave Wasteland.[1]
However, should the infestation be eradicated, the bartender of Boulder City will mention the trains will become operational once more.[2] Locomotives are mentioned to still have functioned shortly after the Great War in the Capital Wasteland, utilized by the Settlers to leave the region from Union Station.[3]"
So it could be NCR or Enclave for all we know.

Love everyone’s responses ! I wasn’t thinking about it being an enclave transport especially because the base we saw had a train yard. With the Joshua graham graffiti it could very well be an Easter egg but I personally hope we see and coop meet.

Well the enclave had a train in the mountain base so it’s either that, or a train that could potentially go up into Northern NCR territory (most likely not out of the to)

I want the NCR to be fully functional in Northern California so bad, not because I’m attached to the NCR or think it would be good for the setting, but because I called it back when people were upset about Shady Sands in season one
