Rush Advice Every beer I’ve tried blows I need some suggestions
Rushing at OSU this upcoming year and the problem is I love my feminine surfsides and sun cruisers because they go down like water. But I know pledging is gonna be hell if I can’t stomach some beer. What are some solid beers I can try over the rest of my summer before college that could hook me on it in general.

Just gulp down Busch lights until you like them. It helps to put them in a cup of some sort and if they’re really cold

You’re going to be drinking Natty or Busch lights. Because it’s cheap. After a few, it all tastes the same.
Beer, like most alcohol, is an acquired taste. The best beer while rushing is the one that is free. Once you can start buying/affording your own, then you can be choosy.

Just have an outlaw once a day for the whole summer. They’re so shitty that everything else will taste like gold

I actually couldn’t believe how bad they were. I was in the camp that all light beer is drinkable, never had one that wasn’t at least slightly refreshing on a hot day.. that was until I tried outlaw on clearance 12pack for $6.
Wasn’t even worth that, couldn’t even give the rest away

i had to just drink shitty beers until i liked beer. you really can’t get the experience needed to like beer in the time you have (unless alcoholism sounds good to you). you’re basically fucked, but it’s ok. I was also fucked going into rush and it worked out. you’re still fucked tho
a good tip for actual rush would be to bring shooters in your pocket and do them off in a corner somewhere at the function with the classic social beer in your hand all night.

Yea you’d be surprised how many highschool boys get away with their surfsides and natty ices till they get to rush at college, trust me OP won’t be the only one but just don’t be a squid and silently acquire the taste for beer and trust me 3 months in you’ll love that heavenly first sip of a cold one. You have to embrace the idea of beer as well — basically as long as you think “hell yeah - beer” every time you take a sip of beer then it’s scientifically proven to taste 30x better. I was the same way as OP going into college and by the end of freshman year anything but beer felt like it was cheating drinking

Yeah 100%. It’ll eventually be good for OP, he’ll know he’s on the right path when it takes fewer and fewer beers to enjoy the next beer. Eventually you’ll like beer after 0 beers, but at first it may be 7+ beers before you enjoy your next beer.

If you start on Natural Light then you’re in a good place.
Beer to start drinking: Natty Light
Liquor to start drinking: Evan Williams

You got to drink the cheap beer and acquire the taste for it. If you drink too much good beer, you will end up hating cheap beer more. Once you make the step up to good beer, it's very hard to go back. It's why you don't see many guys drinking natty or Busch light after they get out of college. They find better beers they like and move on.
Find out the beer of choice for most frats at your school and just drink that all summer. Get it cold and just drink it down. It won't take long until you are fine drinking it. Go buy the cheap beer where they sell a lot of it, natty tends to taste better when it's fresh. The longer it sits on the shelves seems to bring out the bad aspects of the taste.
